Chapter 34 attack on them

Chapter 34 attack on them
No One’s P.O.V.

“You have enough drinks, Bernard. Stop now.” Dixon tried to stop Bernard, who was now drunk to the extent that he was seeing four glasses of wine in front of him.
“I am not drunk, Dixon.” Bernard growled when Dixon tried to take his glass away.
“I am an alpha, and this is nothing but mere alcohol.” He added it in a slurred tone.
He gulped down the whole content of the glass in one go to prove his point.
Dixon felt a severe headache. The wine bottle in front of them was one of the finest whiskeys sell to humans. Of course, it only has a slight effect on werewolves, but not to this extent, where he was feeling a severe headache and Bernard was totally drunk.
He had sniffed the bottle so many times that he believed he was being paranoid because of suspicion.
“That freaking rogue. Who does he think he is? He dares to treat me like dirt? Now he would have known how grave a mistake he has made.” Bernard continued yelling while trying to pour another glass of whiskey for him.
His vision was blurred and his hands swayed, showing how drunk he was.
They were sitting on the backyard lawn of his resort. He tried his luck in the hotel business too and established a chain of resorts in seven cities at once three years ago.
To his bad luck, it wasn’t as profitable as he anticipated. Yet, he was glad that he had a source of income through these resorts, keeping his lavish lifestyle going on, and it also provided him money for all his failed ventures in the past three years.
“I should have killed her and fed her body to feral wolves instead of throwing her out alive. That cursed omega…. Not only did she make me lose everything that was mine but she is still haunting me. I should have buried her alive that very same night.” Bernard continued cursing Amelia while trying to pour some alcohol in his glass, but he spilled it around the glass.
“What the fk?” he yelled angrily when a small amount of alcohol spilled on his clothes too.
Dixon muttered a curse under his breath and snatched the bottle from Bernard.
“How dare you?” Bernard yelled at Dixon, tried to lunge at him, but fell from the chair, planting his face on the floor.
“Damn it.” Dixon cursed aloud this time while standing up.
His head spun so violently that he also lost his footing but held the top edge of the backrest of his chair to keep his footing.
He jerked his head a little, trying to sober himself up a little. He was now having a bad feeling about the whole situation.
This place was theirs and the staff were all trustworthy people. None of them would try to harm them by any means.
He took a few deep breaths and jerked his head a few more times before reaching for Bernard.
“Bernard. I am having a very bad feeling about your condition. You…. you are an alpha. You shouldn’t be this drunk.” Dixon muttered worriedly while pulling Bernard up.
Bernard was still yelling incoherently and tried to resist Dixon, but his body was limp now.
“Get up, Bernard. Get up. I am going to bring something to sober you up, okay? Just…. Just stay there and don’t touch any of these bottles again.” Dixon instructed him worriedly while pulling Bernard up.
Bernard was heavier than Dixon, and with his limped body, Dixon was forced to bear Bernard's full weight.
With a lot of effort, he succeeded in putting Bernard back in the chair. Bernard’s head was still swaying from here to there, but he was now silent.
“I am going back to get something for you to sober up, okay? I have already alerted the security chief. Two bodyguards will be here shortly. Just stay sitting on this chair and keep your eyes closed. Ask Rock to help you enhance your senses.” Dixon instructed him hurriedly.
He was now afraid because his vision was also blurring. It was clear that someone had drugged them, but he didn’t know how. Dixon only had three or four glasses, as he needed to keep his eyes on Bernard.
So, the only reason that he could think of his condition was being drugged.
He staggered on his feet while going towards the back door entrance.
“Riles. Secure the backyard lawn. Alpha Bernard is drugged and alone there.” Dixon tried to mind-link the head of security, who was also a warrior from their pack, but to his astonishment, he couldn’t mind-link him.
His eyes widened in shock, and he was about to yell when his ears perked up at the slightest movement behind him.
His heart was now thudding hard against his ribcage when he sensed a deadly presence behind him, but no scent of the intruder.
“Don’t let your heartbeat go crazy, Dixon. It will only escalate the effects of the drug on you. The more you panic, the sooner you will lose your consciousness.” He felt a freezing chill running through his spine when a cold but oddly familiar female voice hit his eardrums.
He balled up his fists, but his head started spinning hard. He believed what she warned him about.
He tried to calm himself down, but it was too late for him. He looked towards the camera installed right under a lampshade, facing them, in the hope that someone in the security room would notice what was going on there.
“Don’t look at the camera, Dixon.” She spoke again in the same cold tone. He heard very faint footsteps, but he could feel that she was close to them.
“No one knows what is going on here. For them, you two are still drinking together.” She added it after a pause of a few seconds.
Dixon slowly moved back; his heart was now racing hard. He felt his consciousness slipping out, but he wanted to see the person standing behind him before he passes out.
“I should have killed both of them that night.” Bernard suddenly yelled aloud, thrashing his body on the chair at the same time.
The chair wobbled hard, but a small hand covered with a black glove grabbed the edge of the backrest and steadied the chair.
Dixon moved, but his vision blurred completely and before he could make any sound to warn Bernard, his body swayed like a fallen and dry leaf. He fell to the ground with a loud thud, unconscious, but alive.
The black figure slowly moved in front of Bernard and poured a glass of whiskey for him. He was still yelling, too drunk to understand the situation around him.
She threw a small pill in the glass and moved the glass to dissolve the pill before looking back at Bernard; her cold and still dark green eyes threw a deadly stare at him.
“Drink it.” She commanded Bernard coldly while moving the glass towards Bernard.
“Who are you to order me?” he yelled in a slurred voice, pissed by the disdain evident in her voice.
