Chapter 26 showing him the reality

Chapter 26 showing him the reality
Marcus’ P.O.V. (Continued)

“Know your place, rogue.” He snarled and I banged the table with my palm with full force.
“You are standing in my office, Mr. Shaw, not the other way around. I can throw you out at any time for wasting my time.” I roared angrily, asserting my dominance over him.
He might be an alpha, but I was the alpha of the rogues. My people respected me as their alpha, and it made me superior to him.
“You dare.” He challenged and I scoffed aloud, showing my disgust and hatred towards him.
“Try me.” I challenged back and his eyes widened in shock.
“You may be an alpha, but not here. In my company, you are nothing but just another businessman who came to me for business purposes. If you don’t know how to do business or how to negotiate with other businesspeople, then I suggest you go home and learn to be a good businessman first.”
My lecture hit his nerves badly as he snarled aloud, extending his canines to threaten me. I snarled back with the same intensity, abruptly standing up, extending my canines too.
I was only worried about Sylvia, who was now inside the lounge. The good thing was that the door was locked properly.
He slowly backed down when he saw that I wasn’t going to back down at any time soon.
“This is how you do business?” he questioned me angrily, and I snorted in disdain.
“Did I invite you here, Mr. Shaw?” I questioned him back mockingly.
He ground his teeth but didn’t reply to me.
“No. I didn’t invite you here, Mr. Shaw. You came here on your own accord, and despite being told by my staff that we are not interested in doing any business with you or your company, you continued coming here every day, harassing my staff. So, do me this favor and don’t come back.” I spat in disgust in the end.
“Do you know what my connection with the king is?” he threw his last trump card, and I laughed aloud in disbelief.
“Of course, I know Mr. Shaw, and I also know what he did to you four years ago right before your alpha ceremony.” I smirked coldly in the end, leaning on the table, putting my hands on the edge.
His eyes widened in horror this time.
No one knows, but I know who Amelia’s assaulter was. I saw him standing at the corner of the cliff, looking in the direction of our vehicle. His presence was so powerful that I recognized him from that distance.
I never told Amelia because it would have broken her spirit to fight the world.
I secretly investigated the incident and found out that Bernard had also drugged King Alexander that night. Later Amelia told me that the man continued saying sorry to her all night, saying that he would definitely avenge her and himself for what Bernard did to them.
True to his word, Alexander stripped Bernard of the alpha title and killed his beta, Asher. He didn’t even let Bernard take any major role in the pack. So, now Bernard solely depends on his own business in the human world.
He never had any skills, and that’s why he was still struggling in business too.
“I am sure that you will not want me to report to the king that you are using his name to assert your dominance over other people,” I mocked him again, but the threat was evident in his voice.
“You …. You are the one who saved her.” He pointed a finger towards me while glaring at me.
I laughed this time while shaking my head. I sat down and crossed my legs lazily.
“I wish I would have reached there a few minutes earlier. You did everything to make sure that she won’t survive.” I replied to him nonchalantly, looking straight into his eyes.
I clicked my tongue and tilted my head a little.
“I wonder if he is still searching for her or not?” I feigned curiosity, and his body trembled hard.
“Because he made a spectacle back then, turning the whole world upside down in search of her. What will he do if I go to him and tell him what happened to her after I take her body away.” I continued tapping a finger on my cheek while making fake faces.
The color drained from his face within a second.
He couldn’t even blink for a good few seconds.
“You killed your fated mate to marry your girlfriend, the beta’s daughter, but what happened? She left you the second you were stripped. Pathetic.” I spat again and leaned back on the backrest.
“Stop wasting our and your time, Mr. Shaw. My company, all the subsidiaries, and sister-concern companies will not do any business with you or anyone involved with you. You can leave now.” I gestured for him towards the door.
He didn’t move immediately and just stared at me in a daze. I patted my back mentally, praising my tolerance.
I controlled my urge to strangle him this long, and it was appreciable for me.
He slowly moved towards the door; his shoulders slumped down in defeat.
I waited for him to get out of the room impatiently. He opened the door and I rolled my eyes when I saw Jaxon standing right outside the door.
“Mr. Shaw. This way, please.” He gestured for Bernard with his hand, a wide smile plastered on his face.
Jaxon closed the door happily and I breathed out in relief.
I flinched when my phone started ringing suddenly. “Damn it, Amelia. You scared me.” I muttered while taking the call.
"I just dealt with your ex-mate, girl. Praise me for not killing him on the spot." I boasted gleefully, expecting praise from her.
"What was he doing there?" she asked coldly, and I pouted, feeling sad.
"I don't know but he was harassing our receptionists every day. So, I gave him a good scolding. You don't believe that he has the audacity to use the king's name to intimidate me." I complained while whining a little.
