Chapter 32

(Juliette's POV).

"Calm down, Juliette," he said, trying to touch me.

"Calm down?! You're telling me to calm down when I just found out that you are the killer of my parents?!" I snapped at him. "Are you out of your mind?!"

"I had my reasons for doing so."

I felt so hurt when Damian said that with a flat expression on his face with no guilt at all. He didn't seem to care whether he had killed my parents or not. And he didn't seem to care about feelings either.

He said it straight away without trying to evade.

"Seeing that you answered it like that right away. You are indeed the murderer of my parents," I smiled wryly. It really hurts when I thought Damian was such a nice guy all along.

Does he have multiple personalities? Why does she seem so calm when she once killed the parents of the woman she made into Luna? And why did he choose me as his Luna? It made me feel so guilty towards my parents and myself.

For years I kept trying to find their killer and I never did. But it turned out that the person was nearby. And with his guilt and shame, he made me his Luna? Did she really hate my family so much that she planned to destroy us? Making sure I also suffer at her hands. That's why he chose me to be his Luna.

But Damian's treatment has been so kind to me...

"Juliette."

"Don't touch me, Damian!" I snapped. I stepped back and swatted his hand away as he tried to grab mine. "I don't want to be touched by a man who killed my parents," I hissed. I looked at him sharply. A look of anger and hatred. My chest felt like it was going to explode with mixed feelings.

"I told you that I have a reason to do so." His eyes become darkened.

"Whatever reason it is, do you have to kill them?!"

"Yes, I must."

I bit my lip so hard that I could feel blood coming out of it. My hands were clenched into fists with my eyes glaring at him.

"You... I would love to kill you," I hissed.

"As we are mates, Juliette. You can't kill me."

"Yes, I can. I don't care if I have to be cursed then I have to feel guilty for the rest of my life for loving a man who killed my parents," I said. I held back my tears from falling, but it was useless. They just flowed without me being able to hold them back.

"I won't let that happen," he said. He stepped closer and I quickly stepped back toward him. "You’re mine. My Luna," he growls.

"You killed my parents!"

"I only get rid of the annoying insects."

"You're a monster, Damian!" I yelled at him.

"This monster is your Mate. And you'll never get out of my arms."

I shuddered in horror as he stared at me with a pair of deep, dark black eyes. It was something I never realized before that Damian was so scary. I should have listened to the warnings given by Sam and Agatha.

"I should never have accepted your offer to be your Luna. You disgust me, Damian. And I regret having ever trusted and loved a man like you."

"Regret?"

"Yes, I regret it! I want us toーAh!"

"I won't let him, Juliette."

I widened my eyes in surprise when he suddenly silenced my mouth. I tried to rebel but he pushed my body into the tree behind me, pressing my body and lips together until I couldn't move or utter a single word.

"Don't ever say that damned word if you don't want to die," he whispered over the back of his hand that was smothering my mouth.

I glared at him. Had he threatened me, would he kill me if I rejected him?

It's not difficult if he wanted to kill me when he had previously killed my parents without pity. But I don't know the reason why he killed my parents. Because I felt that they didn't have any conflicts that made them enemies.

"I'm the awakening alpha," he told me. I furrowed my brow in confusion and surprise.

Alpha Awakening?

"Everyone thought I was a threat so they tried to get rid of me. When I realized that I became Alpha Awakening because of you, your parents found out and they tried to kill me."

That can't be!

I struggled to be released. I bit down hard on his hand and pushed against his body so that I could break free from his grip.

He growled as he looked at me. "Juliette, don't make me use violence," he said.

"That's what you always do, isn't it? You kill people who annoy you," I scolded, "Alpha Awakening? I've never heard of it and don't even try to fool me!"

"I'm not fooling you."

"Then why would my parents kill you just because you woke up because of me? And you want to say that they were the ones who tried to kill you first?"

"I'm telling the truth, Juliette," he says.

I moved back as he again tried to get close to me. "Don't come any closer, Damian! Don't come near me!" I shouted hysterically.

"You want answers? I have answered all your questions. Now I have nothing to hide from you. Do you still want to stay away from me?"

"Have you lost your sanity? You killed my parents! How can I go easy on you and forgive you once I am? I have a heart, Damian! Unlike you who is a monster with no feelings!"

"If I don't kill them, I'm the one who will die this time."

I fell silent. My chest felt like it had just been hit by a sledgehammer. I felt an uneasiness so terrifying that it sent chills down my body.

Were they really trying to kill Damian?

"Why would they kill you just because you're an alpha awakening and I'm the one who woke you up?" I asked him.

"Because if I mark you, we are bound to each other," he told me.

I smiled wryly. "All mates are like that, Damian."

"What I mean is... once we bond, I will die if you die. And vice versa."
