Chapter 14

(Author's POV).

That night, Sam was brought back by Rafael and the others. They made sure that no one knew about the events of that night. When Rafael brought Sam into his house, Agatha who was sitting in the living room was immediately surprised to see Sam's injured condition.

"Sam!" Agatha's shout startled Rafael. She immediately brought Sam to sit on the sofa while Agatha frantically approached Sam. "Oh my God, what happened to him?" she asked with her eyes already glazed over.

"Something happened in the forest and Sam got hurt. But you don't have to worry because it's not bad," Rafael said, lying. He knew that Agatha also had a hand in Damian's plan, but he had to keep acting in front of Sam so that Sam wouldn't know that Agatha was deliberately tempting Sam to dump Juliette.

"Sam, oh my. I'm going to get some medicine first!" Agatha ran frantically towards the kitchen.

Sam growled and swallowed his saliva with difficulty. He stared intently at Rafael, Chaiden, and Kaye. Especially, he stared at Kaye who was calmly standing behind Rafael and Chaiden.

"You guys are going to be in a lot of trouble for doing something like this," Sam said in a hoarse voice, "especially you, you bastard," he said as he glared at Kaye.

"We don't plan on hurting you, but you better keep doing what Alpha Damian tells you to do. Then we'll never interfere with your life, Beta Sam," Rafael warned.

"You think I'd be afraid of Damian's threats? As long as Juliette lives, she won't let me die. Even though we're no longer bonded, there's a debt of gratitude she holds that she won't let Damian kill me," Sam said. He coughed and groaned at the pain in his stomach.

"Beta Sam. Please don't be like this."

Sam smiled wryly. "You already know what bad things Damian has done to Juliette's family. You all know Juliette's house and family were burned down ... it was all Damian's doing!" he shouted in a hoarse voice.

Rafael immediately stiffened. He glanced around the kitchen to make sure that Agatha had not returned and heard their conversation.

"Beta Sam, please don't bring that up again. Damian will really kill you if you keep harassing him like this."

"I'm just talking about the facts. How could Damian make Juliette his Luna when he is the killer of Juliette's parents? That makes no sense. That's just plain ignorant."

"Beta Sam..."

"And this asshole behind you should be more ashamed because he's the one who burned down the house and killed Juliette's parents!" Sam pointed at Kaye with his eyes flashing with anger. Although he no longer loved Juliette, he cared about her as a friend. During Juliette's downfall, Sam was the only person who reached out and helped her.

"You know that Alpha Damian did it for a reason," Chaiden said in Damian's defense.

"Reason?" Sam laughed mockingly. "Whatever that reason is, will Juliette forgive Damian when she finds out that Damian is the one she's been looking for all this time? Tell Damian that he dug his own grave. Sooner or later Juliette will know the truth and he will die at the hands of his own Luna."

"You have helped cover up this case and you should continue to do so. It's for the common good."

"To hell with the common good. I'm not afraid of Damian at all," Sam growled again as he tried to correct his uncomfortable sitting position. "Go away. I'm sick of seeing the faces of the three of you."

Rafael and the others immediately left Sam's house and just as they opened the door, Agatha returned with a basin of warm water, towels, and the medicine box she had brought to treat the wounds all over Sam's body.

"Sam, you're okay, right?" asked Agatha as she tried to treat Sam's wounds. Her eyebrows would knit together every time she tried to treat Sam's wounds and Sam would growl in pain.

Agatha knew this was Damian's doing. But she never knew that Damian dared to hurt his own family just because of Juliette. She never knew that Damian was such a creepy Alpha that she saw it with her own two eyes.

She also couldn't believe what she heard in the kitchen earlier, when she was about to go back and hear Rafael and Sam's conversation. She decided to hide behind the wall because she was too shocked.

Damian kill Juliette's parents? Agatha thought to herself.

Agatha still didn't know the reason why Damian killed Juliette's parents, but the question now was why Damian made Juliette his Luna. If it was about revenge, shouldn't Damian also hate Juliette?

"Help me to my room, Agatha," Sam pleaded.

Agatha properly helped Sam to the second floor and laid Sam down carefully. Although she only pretended to love Sam, seeing her look so helpless made Agatha's heart ache a little. Moreover, Damian did not hesitate to hurt her like this. So mercilessly.

After making sure Sam was fast asleep, Agatha left her room and met Rafael who was waiting for her outside. Rafael had previously signaled that he would wait for her outside after Agatha helped treat Sam's wounds.

Suddenly, Agatha's skin crawled with fear. Would she also end up in Damian's hands if she made one fatal mistake?

"Alpha Damian asked you to keep an eye on Sam's movements and report immediately if Sam does anything suspicious," Rafael informed her.

"Hm. Okay," Agatha replied, "about that...." Agatha's voice trailed off. She wondered if she should tell Rafael about what she had heard earlier. But it seemed like she should keep it to herself because if Damian knew, he would kill her.

"About what? Why are you silent?" Rafael asked.

"Oh, no. About Sam, I'll make sure he doesn't make any more mistakes. So you don't have to deal with him," Agatha said stammeringly.

"Agatha, make sure you do everything Alpha Damian tells you to do if you don't want to end up worse than Beta Sam did."

Agatha's body trembled violently. She bit her lower lip with an uneasy feeling. "I will always remember that."
