Goof
As soon as I sat down I knew I had fucked up. Silvy hasn’t said it yet but I can tell she didn’t like me shouting that I was the baby’s father like that. But what was I supposed to do? The stupid skank called my baby a bastard. I wasn’t going to let that shit slide. Could I have announced it better? Yes. I shouldn’t have yelled it across the kitchen. To a skank that didn’t matter? I shouldn’t have done that. And the way Ace is looking at me, I know I’m not going to get out of talking to the club.
Silvy hasn’t said a word since I sat back down. She just focused on eating. I was glad she was eating at least. Ailee just gave the skank a death glare and sent her on her way. I would have laughed if it was still several degrees cooler in here. Ailee sat across from us but was looking at Silvy’s food. “ Lass, what in the world are you eating?” Ailee asks. “ Ailee?” Ace groans like he is worried she will upset Ailee. “ It is fine, Ace,” Silvy said. Silvy points to her food with her fork.
“ This is my latest craving. It is sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, ham cubes, salsa and sour cream. I just mixed it all up.” Silvy said. Ailee looks over at my plate which is Silvy’s but I added eggs. “ As far as some of the cravings go that doesn’t sound too bad,” Ailee said. “ It isn’t.” I agreed. Silvy lifts her fork and offers it to Ailee. “ Try a bite,” she said. Ailee leaned in and did as Silvy asked. Once Ailee’s mouth was full she sat back chewing. When she was done Ailee said, “ That isn’t bad.” Silvy and Ailee talked while Silvy and I ate. I finished and got up to rinse my plate. Skanks handle the dishes but I’m not an ass.
When I was done Ace motioned with his head to follow him as he stands up. I nod and Ace whispers something to Ailee. Ailee nods as I make my way back to Silvy. I kiss Silvy on the top of her head. Silvy turns to look up at me. “ I have to talk to Ace for a minute. Finish. If you want more get it. Ailee can help you find anything you need.” I said. “ Goof, we need to talk too,” Silvy said. “ I know babe. We will. Let me deal with Ace first. Then I’m all yours.” I said.
Silvy nods and goes back to eating. Ailee looks at me and says “ I’ll look out for her. Go talk to da.” I leave the kitchen towards the main room and see Ace sitting in one of the booths in the back. I know what he is doing. He is sitting far enough away that the girls can’t overhear us. I walk over to the booth and sit down so I’m facing Ace. I don’t get a chance to say a word because Ace asks “ When were you going to tell us there is another Reckless baby on the way? And that you and Silvy are together?”
“ Ace, it isn’t that simple.” I told him. “ Then make it simple for me,” Ace said. So I laid everything out on the table for him. My feelings for Silvy, me being a donor for the baby, how we were keeping the baby’s father a secret for now and how I intended to win Silvy over and claim her. Ace starts to laugh. What the fuck? “ These girls sure don’t make it easy for you, do they?” Ace chuckles. When he puts it that way it is kind of funny.
“ I wondered how long is was going to take you to wise up and see the good woman you had right in front of you,” Ace said. He is right, it did take me a while to see Silvy as more. But now my eyes are wide open. “ I’m happy you did before it was too late. Like someone snatching her up before you got your chance.” Ace continued. I wanted to growl at that. No one was going to be with Silvy but me. I bawled my hands up into fists at the thought of another man touching my Silvy. Ace looks down at my hands “ I see you don’t like that idea.” “ Silvy is mine,” I said.
Ace grins “ That’s what I want to hear. What are you going to do to make it happen?” I explained what I have done ending with today. “ That’s good Goof. You have made some headway. I can see that. Now it is time to bring the brothers in. I want you to bring it up at church today. And your concerns about the problems the hospital is having with drug seekers. Viper can make a call to Bradford to see what he knows.” I run my hands down my face. “ Fuck. Silvy is going to be pissed. It is bad enough all the ol’e ladies know because they ambushed me. No, you want me to tell our brothers.” I grumbled.
“ Silvy may not like it. But whether Silvy realizes it or not she is family. And soon to be ol’s lady. Your brothers need to be aware of that and that there is a need for some protection. Especially since she works late nights at the hospital. We can put a prospect on her. For that to happen you have to tell them.” Ace said. I nod “ You are right, man. I know. I need to get some protection for Silvy and the baby.” I said. Looks like I’m coming clean at church today. But first I have to deal with Silvy who just happens to be coming my way with Ailee by her side.
Ace sees them and stands. He turns to me and says “ You know the drill with hormonal pregnant woman. You are wrong she is right. At least until she calms down” You might wonder how we know this. The answer is simple we have been through six different pregnancies with the ol’e ladies. It didn’t take us long to figure out the do’s and don’t of dealing with them. Even us single guys. We have a golden rule around here when it comes to the girls when they are pregnant. Keep them happy no matter what. So if we have to take the blame for some things even if it wasn’t our fault. Like when Lilly was pregnant with Lita pissed because someone took the last of the cheesecake and blamed it on me. I took it even thought it wasn’t me and it had just been moved from where it was.
Ailee makes sure Silvy is sitting down then leaves. Once we are alone Silvy says “ I was upset with how you yelled the baby was yours. And how you need to tell the club. We agreed to keep it secret for a while so we could figure things out.” I hear one word that gives me hope she hasn’t pissed anymore. “ Was?” I ask. “ Yea, was. While you were talking with Ace, Ailee talked to me.” Silvy said. Well, this could be bad or good for me. Depending on what Ailee told her.
“ Did she say anything you want to share with me?” I asked. So far Silvy doesn’t look pissed. I have seen Silvy pissed. This is not it. I would go as far as to say Silvy looks relaxed right now. “ Yes. She told me that yes you shouldn’t have shouted. But you did it because you were protecting us. Like you always do. She said she believes that any other brother in your shoes would have done the same. Even though I’m not your ol’e lady.” Silvy said.
I had to hold my tongue to keep from telling her she would be soon. I’m liking what Ailee has told her. She is preparing Silvy like Ailee was prepared to be part of the club. I owe Ailee for this. And Silvy doesn’t even realize what Ailee was doing. “ So even though our secret is out. And the brothers need to be told. I’m okay with it. I understand why you did it too. Instead of being mad at you, I should be saying thank you. Honestly, we both should have known we would be able to keep this secret for long. Not around here anyway.” Silvy said.
I felt like I could let out the breath I didn’t know I was holding. Silvy wasn’t mad and she understood. “ Babe, you don’t have to thank me for doing the right thing by you,” I told her. “ So, do you want me to tell the brothers with you? So they know it wasn’t all you idea to keep it quiet. It wasn’t you at all. It was me that didn’t want it to get out.” Silvy said. I shake my head. “ No. I want you to go home. Take a nice long bubble bath. Relax. Take a nap. I know you are off tonight so I will bring over some dinner. I will deal with my brothers. Don’t worry.” I told her.
“ Are you sure? I don’t want to get you in trouble.” Silvy said. I get up and walk over to her. I get down to her level so I can look in her eyes. “ Babe, I’m sure. I will be fine. I promise. I won’t be punished for keeping my personal business out of the club.” I told her. Silvy seemed to trust what I told her. She should, it is the truth.
