Chapter 151: Arresting People
Seeing my sincere expression, Derek's face flushed with anger, but he couldn't do anything about me.
York finished the food in front of him and let out a satisfied burp, then rubbed his belly and tried to get up.
I pressed down on his hand and glanced at him. "This stuff is just appetizers. The good stuff is still coming. Don't you want to try more?"
Hearing this, York froze for a moment, then quickly caught on. He nodded eagerly, "Right, it's rare to have such a good meal. I might as well sit down and try the other dishes too."
With that, he picked up his utensils again and reached for more food on the table.
"Helena, what are you doing? You're doing this on purpose!"
Serenity lost it and finally dropped her act.
I spread my hands and said innocently, "York is just a regular employee at the company. He really doesn't get to eat this well normally. What's wrong with him having a few more bites? Don't be stingy."
Then I looked at Derek. "Derek, you wouldn't be so petty as to begrudge someone a meal, would you?"
"Of course not!"
Derek gestured at the table full of food. "Eat as much as you want. If it's not enough, I'll order more."
York clutched his stomach while looking at me with a pitiful expression, silently mouthing, "I can't eat anymore."
I glanced at him and silently mouthed back, "Deal with it!"
Seeing us exchanging glances, Derek finally couldn't hold back.
"Helena, what exactly are you trying to do? You know I'm interested in you. You've turned down my invitations again and again, and today you actually brought another man to our date!"
"Tell me, have you fallen for him?"
"What are you talking about?"
I looked at him, my voice cold. "I have a boyfriend, as you well know. Besides, I only came today because Serenity said you invited her. I'm just here to keep her company."
"When did I ever like her!"
Derek was so angry he spoke without thinking. "The one I like is you!"
"Really? Well, I'm sorry then. I don't like you!"
I picked up my wine glass and took another sip.
After drinking, I put down the glass. "Since we've come to this point, let me say a bit more."
"Derek, if it weren't for the partnership between my company and the Turner Group, I wouldn't have come to this dinner no matter what."
"What do you mean by that?" Derek was grinding his teeth in anger.
"Helena means she doesn't like you!"
York, his mouth stuffed with food, mumbled out the words.
Derek glared at York furiously. "Get lost! It's not your place to talk. Believe it or not, I'll have someone throw you out right now!"
"I'm so scared."
York said this while spitting out a bone, then looked at me pitifully. "Helena, you have to help me."
Seeing him deliberately provoking Derek, I laughed. "Sure, don't worry. You're my employee, I'll definitely protect you."
Hearing this, York looked up smugly. "Derek, you wouldn't try to go after Helena, would you?"
"You'd better think carefully. Helena is the heir to the Lockwood Group, the woman countless rich young men are fighting to pursue. Derek, you wouldn't want to get a bad reputation for getting angry and violent just because you can't win someone over, would you?"
"You dare to be so arrogant in front of me? Fine, you just wait!"
Derek slammed his palm on the table, stood up, and pulled out his phone to call someone.
As things developed to this point, Serenity was completely caught off guard. She looked at Derek anxiously, then tried to persuade me in a low voice.
"Helena, Derek is completely sincere about you. Just soften up a bit, apologize, and have a nice dinner with Derek. Won't that solve everything?"
"Why should I make peace?"
I looked at her dismissively. "Don't think that just because you're weak, everyone in the Lockwood family is weak too."
I said coldly, "Let me tell you straight - I don't like Derek. If you like him, feel free to take him."
"Wait, no. You'd need the ability to take him. It seems Derek doesn't like you either."
"You!"
Serenity's face flushed red from my words. She said furiously, "Helena, do you have to talk to me like this? I'm your cousin!"
Here we go again with that.
Being related to her and Natasha in this life is really bad luck.
"Fine, since we're relatives, let me give you some advice. Don't aim too high. Not all men will be attracted to your fake act."
Just as I was about to get up, I heard the door to the private room burst open. Several burly men rushed in and said to Derek, "Mr. Turner, who's causing trouble?"
Derek pointed at York. "Drag him out!"
After hearing this, the burly men rolled up their sleeves and closed in on York.
"What are you guys doing? What are you doing!"
York stood up. Seeing me sitting calmly without moving, he gained some confidence too.
He grabbed the chair beneath him and pointed it at the men, shouting, "What's this about? Just because I ate some of Derek's food, you're going to get physical?"
"Shut up!"
Derek cursed angrily from the side. "This isn't about a meal! I just find you annoying!"
"What are you guys standing around for? Hurry up and take him away!"
As Derek's words fell, the burly men rushed forward. York threw the chair in his hands and crouched on the ground with his head in his hands.
He shouted, "Helena, whatever tricks you have, use them now! Any later and I'm done for!"
As his words fell, I grabbed a bottle of red wine and smashed it at the feet of the burly men.
"Anyone who dares to move, try it!"
"I knew your relationship with him was off, and you still wouldn't admit it!"
Derek rushed up to me and pointed at me. "See? When he's being bullied, you finally can't help but jump out to protect him, right?"
"Derek!"
Hearing me call his name, Derek froze for a moment, then said, "Fine, I know what you want to say. Don't bother begging for mercy. He dared to compete with me for a woman, so I have to teach him a lesson today to vent my anger!"
With that, he waved his hand again, signaling his men to take York away.
"Wait!"
Seeing me stop them again, Derek said smugly, "Helena, I already said he has to be taught a lesson today. Begging won't help."
"Who said I was begging?"
I shot back sarcastically, "What I wanted to say is that you really disgust me!"
As soon as I said this, Derek flew into a rage.
"Helena, you bitch! Don't think I really can't do anything to you. If you piss me off, I'll rape you right now. Try me if you don't believe it!"
"Derek, how dare you threaten my daughter!"
A voice rang out as the door to the private room was pushed open from outside.
Henry and Atlas, along with Antony and Oliver, all appeared at the door.
Seeing so many people, Derek was instantly stunned. "Oliver, Mr. Lockwood, what are you doing here?"
