Chapter 129 Visiting

Chapter 130: Immortal and Unyielding

After hearing him say that, I understood - this cunning John was trying to draw out my position.

Realizing this, I silently swallowed my coffee and said, "Mr. Lockwood, I will definitely be fully committed to Natasha."

Hearing this, John smiled and said, "I'm very optimistic about you and Natasha. Now that you've said this, I can finally relax."

"It was my fault for not visiting after the wedding banquet. When I get back, I'll definitely tell my father about this and have him arrange a meeting between our two families as soon as possible."

After I finished speaking, I could clearly see John looking even more satisfied.

He picked up the pot and poured me a cup of coffee, saying, "Natasha has been spoiled since childhood, but she has a good heart. I can also tell that she really likes you."

"What happened between you and Helena is in the past. From now on, I hope you'll treat Natasha well."

"Yes, Mr. Lockwood, rest assured, I definitely will."

Seeing me agree right away, he nodded with satisfaction and said, "About the money you owe the Lockwood Group - don't worry! While I can't make big promises about forgiving the debt, I can definitely push back the repayment date."

This was exactly why I came today. Seeing my goal achieved, I was overjoyed and quickly said, "Thank you, Mr. Lockwood."

"Alright, go downstairs now. If we don't, I'm really afraid Natasha will get anxious and rush up here."

As John spoke, he stood up and headed downstairs first. Seeing this, I quickly got up and followed behind him.

When we got downstairs, Natasha saw me and rushed over, "Knox, what did you guys talk about for so long?"

"What, are you afraid I bullied Knox?"

Hearing John say this, Natasha threw herself at him with a smile and said coquettishly, "Dad, this is Knox's first time visiting. Don't scare him."

"You're already siding with him before you're even married. Alright, let's eat."

After John left, Natasha looked up at me and quietly pointed at John's back.

Seeing me nod slightly, she finally broke into a smile and quickly pulled my hand toward the dining room, "You must be hungry after talking for so long. Come eat."

After a simple meal, I made an excuse about being busy with work and got up to leave. Natasha could only reluctantly see me off.

"Call me when you get back, and I'll come to your office to bring you lunch later."

"No need."

In a corner where no one could see, I pinched her cheek and said, "I'll just grab something quick. You don't need to go through all that trouble."

"How is it trouble? I'm willing to do anything for you."

She playfully kissed me on the cheek, then asked with a smile, "Did my dad already agree to help you?"

I nodded, "Yes."

She shook my hand and said, "I knew it. As long as I ask, Dad will definitely help."

I knew how formidable Helena was, so I wasn't as confident as she was.

I made a sound of agreement and pulled my arm back, saying, "Alright, go back now. I need to get back to the office."

"Okay then."

She said somewhat unhappily, "I really don't want to be apart from you."

If Natasha were to cling to me every day, that would be unbearable!

Just thinking about that scenario gave me a headache.

I quickly opened the car door and got in, "I'm leaving."

Without waiting for her response, I stepped on the gas and the car sped away.

After leaving Natasha's house, I didn't return to the office but went straight home.

The house was empty except for Arabella. Seeing me, she stood up in surprise, "Knox, why are you back? Where's your dad?"

She looked behind me, and seeing no one there, said disappointedly, "Your dad didn't come back?"

Suddenly, I noticed several white hairs on her head. I was momentarily stunned - Arabella must have been worried sick about us these days.

"There's a lot going on at the company. Dad must be busy. I'll call him right now and tell him to come home."

I took out my phone and called Xavier, briefly explaining what happened at the Lockwood family.

Xavier on the other end was silent for a moment, then after confirming I was home, he hung up.

Arabella, beside me, looked hopeful. I quickly said, "Mom, have the servants prepare dinner. Dad will be home soon."

As soon as I said this, Arabella smiled, "Good, good, I'll tell them right away."

Soon after, when Xavier came home, he called me straight to his study. I told him everything about Natasha's plan and what John had said, down to the last detail.

Hearing my words, Xavier snorted coldly, "That John - he's not good at business, but he's a master at scheming. He wants to tie their family to the Pemberton family."

I frowned, "But if we don't agree, Helena will definitely pressure us to pay back the money. If we agree, maybe we can delay it a bit longer."

"If John really has gotten greedy and wants to swallow up the Lockwood Group, I think we could give it a try. It's just getting married - worst case, we can divorce later."

Xavier frowned disapprovingly, "The way John is, do you think he'll be easy to shake off?"

I asked back, "Then what do you think, Dad?"

Xavier was silent for a while before saying, "Arrange for both families to get together soon. After we meet, we'll discuss it further."

"Okay."

After that, we went downstairs together and chatted with Arabella for a while. Then I picked up my phone and called Natasha.

Hearing about the family meeting, Natasha was thrilled and agreed immediately.

After hanging up, I sneered to myself. This works out well - I originally married Helena for her family's assets.

Now, after all this back and forth, if I marry Natasha, Helena's family assets will still end up in my hands.

Thinking of this, I chuckled, stubbed out my cigarette. Helena, don't think you can escape me by not getting married. In this life, you and I are locked in a fight to the death!

The next day, I deliberately chose a secluded club for the banquet. When Natasha's family arrived, I was surprised to see that Serenity had come along too.

"Knox!"

Seeing me, Natasha ran over, hugged my arm, and kissed me on the cheek.

Then she said with a smile, "Have you been waiting long? Where are your parents?"

"They're in the private room. We'll go up in a bit."

Natasha happily spun around in front of me, "Look, is my outfit pretty today?"

Today, Natasha was dressed especially stunning. A white dress outlined her graceful figure. Without her red clothes, she had a different kind of charm.

I nodded, "Not bad."

"Will your parents like it?" she asked, looking up at me with a smile.
