Chapter 120: Turbulence Arises Again

Chapter 121 The Fish Are All Dead

"You bastard, all my fish are dead, and all you can think about is food. Are you really that hungry?"

Wesley furiously jabbed his cane on the ground several times.

"These fish are dead, so what? Why are you getting so worked up? Anger is bad for your health. Alright, you just take care of your fish. I'm taking Helena and leaving."

Atlas said this while pulling my hand, heading toward the main gate.

"Stop right there!"

Seeing us about to leave, Evan barked coldly.

Atlas turned around and looked back coldly.

"What's this about? Deliberately trying to make people uncomfortable, huh?"

"You bastard, what are you saying? I'm your father!"

After cursing, Evan suppressed his anger before speaking again, "I'm asking you, how are things going with Zane?"

Atlas spread his hands with an indifferent look. "Haven't done anything. I'm waiting for you to come up with the money. Once there's enough money, naturally he'll come back."

Evan clutched his chest in anger. "You—you know perfectly well that's two hundred million dollars. Where would we get that much money for those people!"

Atlas sneered. "No money? That makes it even easier. Just let him stay there. Why bother?"

"You! Zane is your brother, and you won't even think about saving him. Are you even human?"

After hearing Evan's accusation, Atlas's expression grew even colder.

"I'm just learning from you. When my mother was lying in a hospital bed desperately needing money for medicine, where were you?"

"When my mother was tortured to death by illness because there was no money for treatment, where were you?"

Atlas sneered. "The fact that I haven't kicked your bastard son while he's down is only because he's part of the Lancaster family. Don't provoke me. If you do, you can wait to collect Zane's body!"

As soon as these words came out, the entire courtyard fell silent.

Yvonne even screamed, "If you dare hurt Zane, I'll fight you to the death!"

"Whether I hurt him or not depends entirely on your attitude. If you still don't know what's good for you, then wait for news of Zane's death!"

As Atlas's icy words fell, Yvonne's body trembled violently. She turned to Wesley. "Dad, Dad, did you hear that? Atlas wants to kill Zane! Zane is your grandson. He's so young—if he really dies, it'll be the death of Evan and me too!"

"If Zane really dies, Evan and I won't want to live either!"

Wesley, who had been looking at the dead fish on the ground, frowned deeply. Hearing this, his anger flared even more, and he forcefully jabbed his cane on the ground.

"Enough! All this talk about death. I've already sent people to bring Zane back. In less than a week, he'll be home."

At these words, Yvonne's anger instantly turned to joy. She quickly said, "Really? Dad, is what you're saying true? Zane is really coming back soon?"

Wesley nodded. "Yes. When he comes back, keep him under strict control and don't let him cause any more trouble. If he causes problems again, don't blame me for being harsh!"

"Yes, yes, Dad, don't worry. When Zane comes back this time, I'll definitely keep a close eye on him."

Wesley didn't respond to her words, instead focusing all his attention on the dead fish on the ground.

"Well? Can you tell how the fish died?"

The fish expert who had been called over looked up. "They ate bloodworms by mistake and died from bloating."

"Where did those come from?"

Wesley looked toward the butler standing nearby.

The butler quickly stepped forward. "The fish food is delivered directly by the production company. We're always very careful when feeding them. Could there be a problem with the fish food?"

The fish expert carefully compared the opened and unopened fish food. "The bloodworms were added externally by someone. They're not in the fish food."

In other words, someone had deliberately poisoned them.

As soon as the expert said this, Wesley's sharp gaze turned toward me.

"Today's events are quite a coincidence. These are just a few cichlids, but I've raised these fish for a long time. I've made Ms. Lockwood witness quite a spectacle."

With the words "Ms. Lockwood," he directly excluded me from the Lancaster family.

Well, I was the only outsider here today anyway.

They've bullied me to this point—why should I put up with it?

I said coldly, "Not at all. But today I've certainly seen how strictly the Lancaster family runs their household. Being in a family like this, no wonder Atlas refuses to come back. If it were me, I wouldn't come back either."

As soon as I said this, everyone fell silent. Wesley stared at me coldly.

After a long while, he snorted coldly. "Ms. Lockwood, you have quite a mouth. After just one visit, you've painted the Lancaster family as worthless. Is this your upbringing?"

"I save my manners for decent people."

I looked around the circle, my gaze finally settling on Amy.

Today wasn't without some gain—at least I helped Atlas dig out someone who appeared kind on the surface but was vicious inside.

"Amy's hospitality today has really opened my eyes. I've learned a lot."

At my words, Amy instantly became flustered.

"Atlas, does Helena have some misunderstanding about me? But I really didn't do anything."

Watching her eager to explain, I sneered inwardly. I'd seen plenty of hypocrites like her.

But even Serenity and Natasha together couldn't compare to Amy.

She hid it deep enough.

I turned to look at Atlas with a smile, wanting to see what he thought.

But I didn't expect him to grip my hand even tighter.

"Amy, apologize!"

"I..."

Amy hadn't expected to be asked to apologize to me. Her eyes immediately welled up with tears of grievance.

"If you're unwilling, then forget it."

Seeing Atlas pulling me to leave, Amy quickly said, "I'm willing, I'm not unwilling."

Then she said to me, "Helena, today my hospitality was lacking and made you feel wronged. Please don't take it to heart."

Hearing her words, I laughed. "I accept this apology, but don't let me catch your malice again. I won't be so tolerant next time."

As soon as I said this, Amy's lips trembled and she looked ready to cry.

"Too much! This is too much!"

Yvonne pulled Amy close, trembling with anger. "Ms. Lockwood, Amy was so happy about your visit today and received you sincerely, but you—why must you be so aggressive!"

What a serious accusation, thrown directly at me.

I glanced at the dead cichlids on the ground. "Indeed, such warm hospitality—but this hospitality somehow got me blamed for killing these cichlids. If this is what you call hospitality, I've really learned something!"

"Enough, Mom, stop talking. Helena is Atlas's girlfriend after all. We can't treat her this way."

Amy looked at Yvonne with red eyes, her face full of grievance.

My heart went cold. If Amy was really behind today's events, she was hiding even deeper than Yvonne.

"Helena."

Amy came before me with red eyes. "Helena, today was all my fault. Will you still hang out with me in the future?"

"Of course. After all, I'm Atlas's girlfriend."

Hearing this, Amy smiled and grabbed my hand, shaking it vigorously as she said to Atlas, "Atlas, did you see? Helena isn't mad at me. She'll still hang out with me in the future. Next time you have to bring her home again."

Atlas nodded and said to me, "Alright, let's go."
