Chapter 83 Never-Ending Depression

Chapter 83 Never-Ending Depression
After he had finished having dinner with Mira, Alpha Gideon returned to the mansion to check on his wife. He went to the kitchen and asked the cook, “Have you sent dinner to my room upstairs?"
“Yes, Alpha, but Mira doesn't want to eat. She refused the food we sent her,” the cook replied.
“OK. Give me another one, I will personally bring it to her. I’ll wait in the living room,” he said.
“Copy Alpha,” the cook replied.
Alpha Gideon went to the living room and settled on the sofa. A few minutes later the maid handed him the food tray. He wasted no time and brought the tray to his bedroom upstairs.
When he arrived in the room, his wife was still lying on the bed, looking distraught, staring at the ceiling. All sparks of life were gone from her eyes. He put down the tray on the table and walked to the bed. “My love, it’s dinner time. I bring delicious dishes to stimulate your appetite,” he said softly, holding her hand affectionately.
She looked at him sharply. “Where is the shaman?” she asked, pulling her hand away from his hold.
“He’s gone, he will never come back here,” he responded in a serious tone. "Start today, forget about the soul swap, it’s never going to happen,” he said, wanting to put an end to her dark delusion.
Teary-eyed, she asked, “Why are you doing this to me? Why are you punishing me?”
“Because it is for your own good. Before the shaman left he told us that the soul swap was a blessing in disguise. If it didn't happen, you and Mira would be both dead lying in your coffins, rotting six feet under. So he advised me not to seek a soul swap anymore. He told me to send you a message that you should move on and accept your new life and forget your old identity." He elaborated further, hoping this time she will see the good side of the soul swap and embrace her new persona.
“No! That’s a lie!” She shouted angrily. She shook her head in defiance. “I can’t accept what the shaman said. I want my body back!”
“What the hell is wrong with you?” He growls, raking his hands through his hair in frustration. “No need to get your body back, we will still be together as husband and wife. I’m willing to marry you in your new identity as Mira. Why do you still want to get your body back when you know it’s impossible to happen? Why are you so damn stubborn?” he asked in agony, so damn fucking tired of his wife’s never-ending drama.
“Because it is my body that we are talking about here! I have a chance to get my body but you have stood in my way! You are killing me by denying me what I wanted!” she screamed into his face, nostrils flaring in anger.
Alpha Gideon took a deep breath and shut his eyes, trying his best not to lose control, because right now, he wants to drag his wife to the table and force her to eat her meal because he doesn't want her to get sick.
“Look, I’m not abandoning you. I’m trying to be patient with you. Let’s just move on with our lives, please?" he pleaded. His emotions were all over the place.
He sees a big difference. In Mira’s presence he can enjoy peace, while his wife only gives him chaos and hell. But he can’t blame her though. The soul swap was cruel and hard to accept. That is why no matter how his wife torments him with endless quarrels and arguments he will never abandon her.
He met her gaze. His eyes flashed with sadness and despair. “I wish you could see it in your heart to let go of the things you can’t control and just move on and accept things as they are. Just be thankful that you are still alive. I hope you can focus on that bright side instead of stubbornly clinging to the dark side, poisoning your heart with anger and defiance.”
She looked at him, so disappointed in him. Fresh tears sprang from her eyes.
“My love, I’m still here. I’m still your husband. I’m trying my best to help you. I have extended my patience to the breaking point to accommodate your meltdowns and tantrums. I am willing to take all your bullshit. I just don’t want to lose you too soon. I hope you can see my good intentions.” After he finished conveying his heartfelt message to his strong-willed wife, Alpha Gideon quietly left the room.
Luna Rosie starts sobbing hard again. She hates her husband to the core yet she still loves him.
The room was filled with her miserable crying.
She wept bitterly, cursing her destiny, cursing Mira and cursing the Moon Goddess for her misfortune.
She stared at the wall of her bedroom for a while, her eyes swollen from so much crying.
Can she really move on and let Mira take advantage of her body and enjoy her identity while she fades away in the background? Can she really allow it to happen just like that?
The truth is so bitter, it’s difficult for her to move on. And no one would understand her situation unless they were in her shoes.
They all just want her to accept everything and move on.
Easy for them to say.
How can she do that? It’s her body and her identity that were stolen from her. She can’t give up easily.
She wanted to cry again but surprisingly, there were no more tears left to cry. She got out of the bed and walked to the dressing table, looking at herself in the mirror, her eyes swollen with tears.
Her stomach began to grumble, hungry, and demanding to be fed. She dragged herself to the table and looked at the dishes. They were all her favorites. She reluctantly lowered herself into a chair and began eating to satisfy her hunger.
To her surprise, she finished her food, all of it.
She feels a little bit better after she finishes eating dinner.
Trying her best not to fall into depression again, she grabbed the remote control and watched comedy movies on TV to brighten her mood. The hilarious movies proved to be effective at driving away the depression that was holding her hostage.
She also gobbles up ice cream and chocolates, her favorite comfort food.
That night.
She slept early because her body demanded a long rest.
When Alpha Gideon finally arrived in the room, he saw his wife tucked down on the bed, in a deep sleep. He felt relieved.
He stared at her face for a long time. She is indeed Mira and the one in the bungalow house is the sweet version of his beloved wife Rosie. Their names sometimes get mixed up in his consciousness, but it doesn't matter.
The two women are his wives, his precious treasures. He will love and protect them just the same.
He lay down on the bed beside his wife and planted a kiss on her head, then shut his eyes to sleep.
…
Days went by.
Luna Rosie thought she could get herself out of depression easily, but she was wrong. After every ending of the comedy movies she watched, emptiness and loneliness took over and she would start crying again.
Until one day…
