Chapter 62 Intimidation
On the same day, Luna Rosie went to the hospital to meet with Dr. Smith to discuss plastic surgery the following day.
She went there alone because Alpha Gideon was busy with other affairs.
After her conversation with the doctor, she left the hospital and dropped by the grocery store to buy some personal stuff for her two weeks stay in the hospital.
She didn't stay long at the grocery store. She went home after she finished buying everything she needed.
When she arrived home, her husband was out of the mansion together with his brothers.
She spent the rest of her afternoon thinking about what could go wrong during scar surgery. Dr. Smith told her that she would be sedated during the procedure, which means she is conscious but relaxed and will feel no pain at all.
She researched online about fatalities during scar surgery. She found some incidents reported online but nothing serious to worry about.
She’s not afraid at all because she knows her sacrifices will be worth it in the end.
She went to Mira’s room and told Lena to follow her into the room.
She ordered Lena to sit on the chair facing her.
“What can I do for you, Luna?” Lena asked anxiously.
“Listen carefully. I want you to spy on Mira and my husband on my behalf. I will be gone for two weeks because I will be staying at the hospital after surgery for a safe recovery. I’m afraid that during my absence, Mira and my husband will seek each other’s presence. Don’t leave Mira alone. If my husband attempts to separate you from Mira, tell him that I specifically instructed you to never leave Mira alone in the room when he is around." Luna Rosie said sternly, her tone firm and steady, forcing her maid to follow her orders to a tee.
Lena scratched her head. “Um, Luna, what am I going to do if your husband orders me to leave the room? I can’t defy his order because he is Alpha Gideon, heir to the throne and son of the Alpha King and Luna Queen. Who am I to defy his order? I’m just a lowly maid,” she said in a tense voice, expressing her fears, as she found the task too depressing and difficult to do.
The maid got a point.
Luna Rosie fell silent for a moment, weighing her options. “Well, if that happens, just follow his order but return to the room quickly. Do not leave them alone for a long time.”
“But what about at night? I don’t sleep in Mira’s room at bedtime. I always sleep in the servant's quarters,” Lena quickly said, feeling uneasy about the whole thing.
Damn, another problem to worry about. She massaged her temple. Although she had a padlock in place preventing her husband from entering Mira’s room via the connecting door, he could always use the other door to enter the room.
And bedtime is the best time to enter Mira’s room because everyone was already sleeping in their room. If her husband enters Mira’s room with the intention to do monkey business with her then no one can stop him.
She groaned in frustration. How can she prevent Mira and her husband from seeing and interacting with each other?
The only way to prevent her worst fear from happening is to make Lena stay and sleep in Mira’s room 24/7. This way there is a slim chance for Mira and her husband to develop a connection while she is recovering in the hospital.
She finally said, “Go back to the servant's quarters and pack your things because you will be staying in Mira’s room starting today. This is only a temporary setup. After my stay in the hospital is over you will return to the servant's quarters. Do you understand, Lena?”
“Yes, I do. I will try my best to do the task you ordered me, Luna,” Lena said glumly.
She smiled. “Good. I trust you, Lena. Please don’t disappoint me. If you do well in your spying I will give you a monetary reward. OK?”
“Copy, Luna,” Lena said despondently, torn between her loyalty to her mistress and to Mira, her fellow servant.
“OK. We're done talking. Go back to Mira’s room now and tell her that you will sleep in her room starting tonight. Tell her that it’s my order. If she doesn't agree, I will tell her myself,” she said, dismissing her.
“Copy, Luna.” Lena rose to her feet and exited the room. When she returned to the room, Mira was already waiting for her.
“What does she tell you?” Mira asked curiously.
Lena sighed. “She ordered me to stay here in your room starting today, and I will sleep here every night until she finishes her two weeks stay in the hospital.”
Mira’s forehead creased. “Huh? But why?” she asked, frowning heavily.
Lena scratched her head in a dilemma. Should she tell Mira the truth? She made a split-second decision. She decided not to tell Mira the truth and kept everything to herself. Luna Rosie just wants to make sure you have company at bedtime because you are pregnant. You know…anything can happen at nighttime,” she lied.
“OK. No problem. You are welcome here.” Mira smiled. She already knew why Luna Rosie wanted Lena in the room with her. To spy on her and Alpha Gideon. The lioness is afraid that she will seduce her husband while she is away undergoing surgery. With Lena staying in the room with her 24/7 nothing is happening for sure. “You can bring your mattress here and sleep on the floor. You can also sleep on a sofa bed if you want.”
“Are you sure you are okay with me sleeping here in the room with you?” Lena asked apprehensively.
Mira smiled. “No problem.”
“Don’t worry it’s just for two weeks and after that I’m back in the servants' quarters," Lena said, feeling guilty that she didn't tell Mira the truth.
“No worries, Lena. I have no problem with you accompanying me here in the room every night,” Mira said reassuringly.
“OK. Thanks. I will go now and get my stuff,” Lena said and left the room.
Mira sighed heavily. She glanced at her pet snake coiling on the bed. She patted her pet affectionately. “Brownie, starting today we will have company in the room. Lena will stay here for two weeks. Don’t be naughty. Don’t show yourself to Lena. She might have had a heart attack. You must behave, OK?”
The snake nodded its head obediently.
“Good.” Mira smiled in amusement, patting the snake’s head gently. “Brownie, you are the smartest snake in the whole wide world!” She gushed, laughing softly.
Lena finally returned to the room. Mira helps Lena with putting her clothes in the closet. Afterward they went downstairs to go to the garden so Mira could take a stroll as part of her daily exercise regimen.
Meanwhile…
Back in Luna Rosie’s room, she watched makeup tutorial videos on TV to pass her idle time, waiting for her husband to come home.
Time has passed by.
That night, Luna Rosie ate dinner alone in her room because her husband hadn't arrived yet. When she texted him why he’s not home yet, he responded by saying that he and his brothers were investigating a notorious underground syndicate, known for kidnapping young werewolves to be sold to other countries for entertainment and experiment purposes funded by evil human elites. He told her to sleep early and no need to wait for him because he might arrive home late.
Hours went by.
The clock strikes at 10:00 in the evening. Luna Rosie was tired of waiting. She shut her eyes and fell asleep on the bed.
Alpha Gideon and his brothers arrived home at 12:00 midnight. He went straight to this bedroom, glad that his wife was already asleep. He lay down on the bed, yawning, his eyelids dropping fast.
A few minutes later, he drifted into a deep slumber.

The following day.
The couple woke up a few minutes apart from each other.
She looked at him. “My love, what time did you arrive home last night?”
“I’m sorry, I came home late at midnight. You were already asleep when I entered the room, so I didn't wake you up anymore,” he replied. “By the way, what time do we go to the hospital today?” he asked.
“After lunch,” Luna Rosie replied and got up from the bed, heading to the bathroom to splash water on her face.
At 7:30 in the morning, Lena arrived at the room and brought breakfast for the couple.
The couple ate breakfast together while discussing surgery.
Afterward, Alpha Gideon left the room to discuss with his brothers regarding their investigation into wolves traffickers.
In recent years, the number of missing teenage victims related to wolf trafficking has risen rapidly. That's why the royal brothers have teamed up with investigators to uncover the identity of the leaders of the traffickers.
Lena was arranging the dirty dishes on the tray, well aware that Luna Rosie was watching her nearby.
“Lena, I will go to the hospital this afternoon. Remember the task I assigned to you. You must give me an update daily. I will be expecting your text report every day. I want to know what Mira and my husband are doing while I’m away. Do you understand?” Luna Rosie said, openly glaring at her maid, intimidating her so she would follow her order.
“Copy Luna.” Lena bowed her head. “If nothing else, I will now bring the dirty dishes to the kitchen,” she said in a trembling voice.
Luna Rosie smiled after Lena left the room. Now that she has already planted a spy to watch over her husband and Mira’s activities, she can finally focus on her surgery.
In the afternoon, Luna Rosie and Alpha Gideon left the mansion on their way to the hospital.
