Chapter 102 Rude Awakening
Two months had already passed since her husband Alpha Gideon and Luna Amira's pack entered into a business deal to mine the pack's huge mineral deposits and yet her husband did not return to the Moon Star Pack and let his men handle everything on his behalf. That's what Luna Rosie observed.
Her doubts and fears were finally brought to rest.
Luna Amira is not Mira. She doesn't care who's soul inhabits the Luna's body right now, as long as it's not Mira, she's fine with it. Her animosity towards Mira is still alive in her heart. She can't shake it off. Sigh.
Even if it was Mira occupying Luna Amira's body right now, her husband showed her he had no interest in Mira anymore.
She was already in her 9th month of pregnancy. She will just focus on giving birth to her son this week or early next week.
Just this week she already noticed the signs that she might give birth this week or next week. Since she is a first time mom, she might as well book a private room in the hospital's maternity building so she can give birth safely.
Her husband agreed to her request to check into the hospital early. She already booked a room approved by her doctor. She and Lena have already packed everything in their bags since yesterday.
This afternoon she and her husband will go to the hospital along with Lena.
She was about to get a glass of water when the lower portion of her belly near the pelvis was kicked hard by her naughty son. "Ouch, baby, that was painful!"
She lay back down on the bed, then another pain tore her belly. Tears sprang from her eyes.
Then something broke. Water gushed out of her entrance. "Did my water just break?" she asked aloud, panicking.
Then she felt another pain hitting the lower part of her belly, more like a contraction.
When Lena entered the room, she rushed to the bed after seeing her mistress wincing in pain. "Luna, what is happening to you?" she asked worriedly.
"My water broke. Hurry up, call my husband and get the car ready. We are going to the hospital," Luna Rosie said, grabbing her phone and quickly sending a message to her doctor informing her that her water broke.
One hour later.
Luna Rosie, Lena and Alpha Gideon get in the car and head to the hospital.
After arriving at the hospital, they quickly checked into the private room Luna Rosie booked in advance.
Luna Rosie went into labor the whole day, groaning and wincing in pain as intense painful contractions and cramping hammered her pelvis the whole day. It's so excruciatingly painful she cried and whined a lot, saying she would never get pregnant again because it's so damn painful.
When evening comes, she no longer has the strength to carry on. She finally begs her doctor that she wants a cesarean operation because she can no longer endure the natural birthing process because she has no more strength left to push her son out of her body. Besides, she cannot bear the extreme pain associated with birthing during labor.
Alpha Gideon agreed to the process because he could no longer bear watching his wife suffer in extreme pain.
The doctor looked at the couple. "Are you sure?" she asked her patient one last time.
"Yes, Doc, I can't bear the pain anymore," Luna Rosie replied in tears, feeling so tired and weak as if she would collapse on the floor at any moment.
The doctor looks at his husband.
"Yes, Doc. I give you permission to do a cesarean operation on my wife immediately," he said with finality in his voice.
With the couple's consent the doctor finally agreed and Luna Rosie underwent a caesarean procedure at 9:00 that evening.
The caesarean procedure was successful. A healthy 14-pound baby boy was born named Baby Gilbert. A name both were chosen by the couple.
Both mother and baby were safe during the procedure.
After 2 hours, Luna Rosie was wheeled out of the operating room and transferred to a recovery room to recuperate.
And after 10 hours of rest, Luna Rosie can be seen walking around the private room assisted by her devoted husband to reduce the risk of blood clots.
The couple sat on the sofa and doted on their adorable newborn held lovingly by Alpha Gideon in his arms.
Tears of happiness rolled down Luna Rosie's face as she planted a kiss on the newborn's cheeks. "I love you so much, son," she said softly.
"I love you, my love." Alpha Gideon kissed his wife's lips. "Thank you for giving me a son," he said gratefully. They have come this far and are very much still together.
"Thank you for loving me," Luna Rosie replied happily. Although she wasn't able to give birth to her son naturally, the pain is still worth it.
They gazed into each other's eyes tenderly, their eyes overflowing with love for each other.
Baby Gilbert stirred in his sleep.
Alpha Gideon grinned joyously and kissed his son's tiny feet and hands. "After a long wait I am finally able to hold you in my arms, my son. I love you so much," he said, feeling emotional. His eyes glistened with tears of happiness.
One hour later.
The royal family arrived in the room to visit the couple and their firstborn.
Everyone was happy for the couple and eager to welcome the new addition to their family and spend time with the newborn.

Meanwhile on the same night, at the Moon Star Pack, a thousand miles away from the capital, Mira can be seen sitting on the couch in her room, staring at the adorable face of the newborn baby on the screen of her phone.
Tears sprang from her eyes as feelings of envy and happiness exploded in her heart.
She was happy to see a son she could never have had. At some point in the past she became the baby's mother for a short period of time when her soul took over Luna Rosie's body. She was excited to give birth to baby Gilbert but unfortunately it was never meant to be.
She hoped one day she could also hold baby Gilbert's tiny body in her arms and kiss his feet and arms.
Sigh. That was all in the past now.
She is a different person now and her life has changed for the better.
Alpha Gideon proudly sent her the pic of his newborn son half an hour ago but she was still feeling nostalgic and emotional.
She was glad that he still cared about her feelings by sending her a pic despite him being busy attending to his family.
The couple's family is complete now. She is happy for them.
She felt envy rising rapidly in her heart.
It's nice to see a family happy together, loving each other, and sometimes... it's hard not to feel envy towards them.
But it's okay. Although she has no one to love and love her, she considers her entire pack her big family.
She still loves Alpha Gideon unconditionally. She dreams of him in her sleep and many times she finds herself reminiscing about their happy times together.
Over the last two months, progress in mining minerals has been awesome and smooth sailing. Her partnership with Alpha Gideon has already produced big profits for both parties. In the 2nd month of the operation they managed to sell $100 million worth of minerals and more to come.
Her food revolution has been embraced by the people in the village and the people are no longer starving.
Little by little, the pack is recovering from the financial crisis brought on by Luna Amira's late husband's mishandling of the pack's money. Because of the tremendous success of the mining project, she can finally implement her livelihood project creating more wealth, jobs and food abundance for the entire pack.

Five years later.
Mira was able to turn the tide and The Moon Star Pack became great again, restored to its former glory back to the time when Luna Amira's father was still the Alpha of their pack. It became a wealthy and progressive pack known by many, far and wide.
Luna Amira's excellent leadership became everyone's inspiration, admiration and also her neighbors' envy.
Many Alphas in the neighboring pack openly declared their interest in courting her. In their eyes, she is ripe for picking and they think they can control her. But she turned them down. She doesn't want to receive any suitors on her territory. She told their envoys that she was married to her pack and nobody could change her mind.
What she didn't know was that several neighboring packs were infuriated by her arrogance and snobbish attitude; they were annoyed that a mere weak wolfless Luna insulted their Alpha pride and ego.
Three of the despicable Alpha joined forces, uniting and planning something evil for Luna Amira. They want to invade the Moon Star Pack and take over ownership of the mining operation. One of them will take Luna Amira as his wife by force.
Their evil plan started three months ago during a drinking spree, talking about how beautiful and single Luna Amira was and how wealthy the Moon Star Pack had become. Everyone wants a piece of Luna Amira and her wealthy mineral deposits.
As for Luna Amira... she has no idea her life is about to change again.
She managed to make the Moon Star Pack great again, and improve the lives of the pack members.
However, she was lacking in one thing: she had no strong military force. She only had about 2000 Gamma protectors, patrolling the boundaries, implementing peace and order and securing the pack's safety in the city and villages. It was led by Gamma Chief Oscar that she personally chose to defend their territory from any hostile forces that may invade their territory.
She was confident that invasions by other packs would never happen because their neighboring packs were never hostile to them and they had never had conflicts with each other in the past. The neighboring packs are peace lovers and friendly towards them. That is why there is no need for strong military forces on her territory.
That was her wrong assumption. Although the locals in the neighboring packs are friendly and peace loving people, their leaders are not.
