Nydia noticed his condition and knew he was concerned about his leg again. She walked over and stood behind his wheelchair, leaned down and whispered in his ear, "Don't worry, it will get better! You're a hundred times better than him."
Her warm breath tickled his ear like a feather, making it itch and tingle. He was about to move his wheelchair away, but Nydia acted first and walked up to him, waving at him. "I'll go check on something. I'll be back home before nine."
Home? Did she consider this place her home?
Nydia had already left, and she couldn't see his reaction at the moment.
She drove to the Malone Villa.
"Mr. Malone, Mrs. Malone."
"Oh, Nydia's here. Please go check on Willette. She's been locking herself in her room and not eating. It's driving us crazy."
"Okay, I'll go see. Don't worry." Nydia brought some food into Willette's room.
As soon as she entered, she saw that Willette's eyes were red from crying.
"Nydia, what should I do? Barclay is ignoring me."
"What if Barclay wants to break up with me?"
"Did you go see him?"
"He didn't answer my calls, so I went to the company to see him. He didn't want to talk to me and told me to go home. I didn't want things to get too ugly, so I came back. Can you help me?"
Nydia sighed, "This is really not easy to handle."
"Nydia, you must help me. If Barclay breaks up with me, I'll die!"
"..." Then go die! Now, immediately, right away!
Willette felt awkward when Nydia didn't react.
"If I knew it would be like this, I wouldn't have drunk so much. Who knew I would accidentally drink too much and give that bastard a chance!" Willette gritted her teeth.
"Sister, when we saw it, you weren't being forced to kiss him. It looked like you were enjoying it!" Enjoying it so much, how could Barclay bear with it?
"I was drunk at the time. I thought it was Barclay." Willette was annoyed.
"..."
"Sister, this will definitely be a thorn in Barclay's heart. He'll think of this every time he sees you."
"What should I do?"
Nydia thought for a moment and said, "There really isn't a good solution, unless time goes back or he has done something similar. Then, you two would be even."
Willette suddenly got excited and grabbed Nydia's shoulder, "Nydia, you're right. As long as he did something wrong too, then we'd be even. He can't get mad at me anymore, and our engagement can continue."
"Sister, I was just kidding."
"I have to find someone to seduce him or set him up."
"Sister, that's not a good idea. That's not a good plan."
"What else can I do?"
"..." What a foolish person!
"Nydia, who do you think I should find?"
Don't bother me!
However...
"Nydia, I think this matter is perfect for you, can you help me?"
"..." Shit!
"You're the person I trust the most, only with you can I feel at ease. If it were someone else, what if they try to seduce Barclay?"
"..." Don't worry, Barclay isn't that charming.
"Nydia, please help me. Can you bear to see me like this?"
Yes!
"Sister, it's not that I don't want to help you, it's just..."
Willette went crazy before Nydia could finish her sentence.
"If you don't help me, this matter can't be solved. If it can't be solved, I won't be able to live. Do you want to watch me and Barclay break up?"
"Or is it you who wants me to break up with Barclay?"
Willette looked at Nydia with a scrutinizing gaze.
"Sister, how can you say that? What kind of person do you think I am?"
Nydia looked hurt.
"Since you think that way, then I'll keep my distance from now on and not have any contact with you."
She turned around to leave the Malone Villa.
Willette grabbed her. "I'm sorry, I was too anxious and said the wrong thing. Our sisterhood is too deep to be affected by a man."
"Between you and Jesse... didn't I say anything?"
What else can you say? Didn't you plan it all?
"Are you trying to drive me to my death by bringing up the past?"
Every time Willette mentioned that matter in the past, Nydia would feel guilty and think that she had destroyed Jesse and Willette's engagement.
"Okay, okay, let's not talk about it. Let's think of a solution, okay? Don't be angry."
Willette was surprised. Why did Nydia get angry so easily now? It made her feel like she couldn't control her.
"Then sister, don't say such things in the future, or I really won't come again."
"Okay, I won't!" If Nydia didn't come to the Malone Villa, it would be the Malones who would lose out.
"Does brother-in-law have any annoying people around him or at his company who want to seduce him?"
"Yes! Definitely!" Willette answered immediately and with certainty. There were many women in Barclay's company who wanted to climb into his bed.
"Then it's easy. I believe with your wisdom, sister, you can handle this matter well. Unlike me, who is too stupid and can't do anything well."
"..." Hissss, classic line from a scheming bitch?
After Nydia gave Willette some ideas, Willette knew what to do and asked Nydia to stay for dinner. Willette's father, Cade Malone, and mother, Laura Fisher, were happy to see her and chatted with her for a while.
"We were so happy to see you and Jesse getting along so well the other day. After all, you are married, and we want you to be happy. It's just..." Laura stopped in the middle of her sentence.
"I know you care about me. I will take care of myself, don't worry." Willette replied.
Laura was about to say something after the word "just," but Nydia didn't give her a chance to speak.
"Let's eat first," Cade spoke up to ease the awkwardness.
Laura didn't give up and continued to ask during dinner, "Nydia, I know I shouldn't say anything since you and Jesse seem to get along well, but I can't help but remind you to keep your own money safe. Women need money to have confidence and speak up."
Nydia panicked at the sudden reminder. The Malones all looked at her nervously. "What happened? Did Jesse take your money? How much did he take? Can you get it back?"
Nydia suddenly laughed, "I was just teasing you. My money is safe, don't worry. It was earned by my parents' hard work, and I won't mess it up."
However, her smile became a bit sinister towards the end.
All of these people wanted to get their hands on the large compensation money that Nydia's parents left, and they were all trying to benefit from it.
"You scared us," Laura said, patting her chest in relief.
"Mrs. Malone, why are you so scared?"
"I, I was just afraid that you would be bullied. If Jesse took away so much money, how would you manage in the future? He could kick you out at any time."
"Unfortunately, I've already deposited the money into a fixed-term account. Otherwise, I would have given it to you to take care of," Nydia said.
Cade and Laura were left speechless.
"For how many years did you deposit it?" Willette asked.
"Just one year."
"That's okay. When it matures, you can take it out and have us find a financial advisor for you. Investing is how you make money, bank interest is very low."
"Oh, I see. Okay, I'll take the money out and give it to you guys when it matures."
Hearing this, Cade and Laura smiled.
They would have acted long ago if the compensation money hadn't come in over the years.
After dinner, Nydia went home. When she got home, she found Tavish sitting on the couch. He stood up when he saw her and walked towards her, looking serious.
"Come with me," he said to her.
