Li Wei raised his left arm, which had taken on a completely different appearance. With his mouth slightly open, he felt a bit speechless.
Below his elbow, his arm was no longer human-like. A dark red, horny layer replaced the original skin, resembling exposed muscle tissue. When touched with his other hand, it felt rough and hard, like armor, accompanied by a sensation of intense heat.
Beneath the demonic skin resembling the dark red horny layer, there were thick cracks, like exposed blood vessels. The thickest one ran directly from the back of his hand through the entire forearm, reaching the elbow.
Under these cracks, instead of flesh and blood, there was a faint blue mist-like substance.
That was demonic energy.
Moving his fingers a bit, apart from some lingering effects of the immense pain, there wasn't any noticeable discomfort.
Comparing both hands, Li Wei realized that the demonic left hand indeed had slightly enhanced strength compared to his normal right hand. Before, Li Wei had a fairly balanced strength in both hands, but now, after a brief test, he estimated that the demonic left hand's strength was roughly twice as powerful as his normal right hand.
This value didn't match Li Wei's expectations. He originally thought that after obtaining the Devil's Left Hand, he would be able to punch stars!
Of course, the expression "punching stars" was an exaggerated metaphor. However, it illustrated that the amplification of strength brought by the Devil's Left Hand didn't reach his expectations.
But an increase in strength wasn't the primary effect of the Devil's Left Hand. What Dane valued the most was the utilization of demonic power.
He extended his left hand, focused his mind, and a blue, purely evil-powered demonic claw appeared in front of him.
This demonic claw was as large as two adult human heads. As he swung his arm downward, the illusory blue demonic claw followed the motion of his left hand, slamming down violently. The floor, already subpar in quality, instantly cracked into numerous large fissures, turning into powder where the demonic claw struck.
This was far beyond the strength of ordinary people. Even for someone who had undergone extreme physical training, trying to achieve such an impact with the physical body alone would likely require someone highly specialized in strength to achieve this effect.
Moreover, Li Wei's demonic claw was a long-range attack.
With a thought, the blue demonic claw flew several meters away and stuck to the wall of the rented house. At this distance, he felt that manipulating his arm was still effortless. However, he also sensed that if it were any farther, it might become a bit strenuous.
At present, the control range of the Devil's Left Hand should be within ten meters. This might not be its limit, and with some effort, he could probably extend it further, but the power of the demonic claw would inevitably be affected. He also felt that with future training, there was still room for substantial improvement.
With a thought, he gently waved his arm, and the blue demonic claw grabbed a metal cup on the bedside table. Li Wei wanted to see if he could remotely bring the cup back using the demonic claw.
However, this force was not easy to control. After a moment, he did retrieve the cup, but the metal body of the cup had already been twisted.
"It seems that the fine control of strength still needs improvement," he sighed.
He wasn't too concerned about this. Newly acquired powers always had an adjustment period. With time, as he gradually mastered the power of the Devil's Left Hand, everything would get better.
Just got his new power and found it so intriguing, he couldn't help but keep the demonic arm in the released state, playing around with it while also adapting to the new strength.
However, soon, he felt his left hand becoming a bit numb, and his energy slightly weakened.
This should be the consumption of maintaining the release of the demonic claw, causing a drain on his body and spirit.
After about a minute, he felt it would be challenging to persist any longer. The purely demonic arm also became somewhat unstable.
It seemed that this was the limit.
Without forcing himself too much, Li Wei retracted the power.
The weakness of his body needed replenishment through food. Also, the abnormality of his left arm required some concealment.
Leaving his home, he realized there were quite a few people gathering outside. In these low-level district buildings, twelve stories high but not spacious, numerous rooms were partitioned. Now, the hallways were filled with people, buzzing with conversation as everyone discussed the same thing.
"What just happened? Was it an earthquake?"
"I felt it too. The whole building was shaking."
Upon a closer listen, Li Wei chuckled inwardly—seems like the commotion he caused in the house was a bit too much.
With an indifferent expression, he pushed through the crowd towards the downstairs, putting this matter behind him.
However, it served as a reminder. He had many secrets, and his current residence was indeed somewhat inconvenient. If given the chance, he should consider finding a new place.
...
At the store, after buying some bandages and food, he decided to head back home.
Wearing a long-sleeved jacket and intentionally concealing his left hand, he managed to avoid drawing attention. However, long-term concealment like this wasn't ideal, and he wasn't eager to reveal his abilities—at least not for now.
So, the bought bandages came in handy.
Aside from using them for treating wounds, he used the remaining bandages to tightly wrap his left hand, covering the abnormalities of his left arm completely.
After finishing the quick food he purchased, taking a short rest, and feeling his body regain strength, he headed out again.
He needed to go submit the commissioned task.
However, before that, Li Wei had one thing to do. He planned to visit Zhan Xi's home.
He wasn't sure when this vampire infiltrated the Skeleton Gang, but having served as the leader for so long, Zhan Xi probably had accumulated some wealth. Who knows, maybe there was some gain to be had.
Regardless, Zhan Xi was dead, and it wouldn't hurt to take a stroll through his home. Li Wei was currently in need of money.
His movements were swift. After leaving the house, his luck was good, and a tram was nearby. Tossing in a white crystal, he set off towards Zhan Xi's residence.
When he arrived at the street where Zhan Xi lived, the police hadn't arrived yet.
"As expected, the police in the lower district are a bunch of useless people," Li Wei sighed in his heart, then pushed the door of the two-story building in front of him.
But it didn't budge.
He didn't mind; glancing around and finding no one nearby, he simply climbed up the wall and reached the window on the second floor.
Security measures were present even in ordinary homes in the lower district. However, that might pose some difficulty for an average thief, but for Li Wei, it was at most a bit tiring.
Soon, he opened the window and slipped into the room.
