Chapter 48: Epilogue: Part one

Three years later

I was packing my bags and this time it was because I was going home. And every minute that passed I got overjoyed because I was finally going to see Brandon and my family again and it’s not going to be for a few days before I have to return to my student house. But I was staying. My graduation was coming up in a few days and I had time on my hands to go spend some quality time with my boyfriend.

Our relationship is stronger than ever, I watched him grow into a beautiful, handsome, and rugged man that still has the bliss in him to turn heads. Even over time, there were expectations that being miles apart over this course of time that we would break apart but surprisingly. We grew closer with every video call, every spring break we get to see each other or even when he would just show up out of the blue to say hi or watch a game of mine.

My first few weeks in Los Angeles was something I had to get used to and it was quite hard to show off my potential when there were twenty other girls who were just as good as me but it got me to push my boundaries, made me work out harder and cross off my goals with each time I got on the field.

In the end, I was voted as M. V. P. A day I wished my mother was alive to witness but then I looked up at the heavens and knows she is watching my every step of the way.

I looked at the sealed envelope in my hand, knowing exactly what it was and how I was going to present it to Brandon. Even though I am leaving Los Angeles as a student in a few months I return as one of the new league players of Los Angeles.

Will he leave his life behind and move with me? Or am I pushing it?

I gave a small sigh before deciding to put it away and continue to pack my bags. I grabbed my invite to the wedding, more specifically Jaylin’s wedding. She and Travis are finally tying the knot after years and they are hosting their wedding back in New Orleans. The City where we all grew up.

If the streets could talk there would be a lot to talk about.

“Ready to leave, Adams?” Becca asked entering my room. Becca was one of my team members and she pretty much kicked my ass in the beginning until I slipped on my gloves. “I believe I am.” I answered facing her noticing Nicole standing by her side.

“Does he know you are going home today?” She asked. “He doesn’t have a clue. He thinks I’m only arriving on Friday.” I answered picking up my bags and making my way out. “You are going to surprise him?” She asked following me. “That’s my plan, that’s it if my dad didn’t give it away.” Nicole and Becca snickered.

“How is everything that your dad and Meredith are married now?” Nicole asked helping me with my bags. “Pretty much the same except for the new baby. Timmy is keeping them up at night.” Both girls chuckled.

My dad and Meredith got married in my first year at University. A few months later and she found out that she was pregnant with Timmy. Jonah was a bit jealous knowing that is not going to be the youngest sibling and for a while, he is not going to get all of the attention like he used to.

"Are you catching a ride with me?" I asked Nicole. "My bags are already packed and placed in your car." She answered. "Well, then. It's time to say goodbye." We said our goodbyes to everyone and got in my car.

Nicole played the DJ while I was driving. We had a full day ahead of us to get to New Orleans. A whole full day and a few hours later and we arrived in New Orleans. We decided to stay on the road, I got in some sleep while she drove, we made some pit stop for food and going to the bathroom.

"Nervous?" She asked when I pulled up in front of Brandon and Jake's student house. Last time I heard they got in two other boys to live with them. "Pretty much." I answered getting out. "Wish me good luck." She rolled her eyes at me. "That man loves you don't be nervous." She scoffed stretching out her legs in front of her.

I headed over to the house and noticed that Brandon was still here as I saw his car in the driveway outside. As I was making my way up the driveway, the front door opened, and Brandon exit the house. He gave a little pause when his eyes fell on me before a breathtaking smile broke out on his face.

Seconds passed and I found myself in his arms. "What are you doing here?" He asked placing multiple butterfly kisses on my lips. "I thought I'm only seeing you on Friday." He said. "I finished up early and I wanted to make it a surprise." I answered. "Well, you definitely did, Adams." He said before fusing our mouths.

Not a single day goes by that his kisses grow old, every single time he still steals the air from my lungs. "Where are you heading off too?" I asked when I noticed his bag. "I'm going to the gym, thought I was going to impress my girl with my good-looking body this Friday." I smiled at him.

"I thought I was imaging myself each time we talked over the video chat that you are getting bigger and more muscular." I said feeling his biceps. He chuckled at me and pulled me back into his arms. "I need to tell you something when you get back from the gym." I said and when I felt his shoulders jump it made me believe that he was taking this the wrong way so I decided to tell him instead.

"I got picked to play for the Los Angeles field hockey Association. My team voted me as the captain of the new club. Most of them are going to join while the rest of them are going to Santa Monica to join their hockey clubs." I explained after pulling out of his arms.

"Which means you are going to have to move permanently to L. A." Brandon said with a nod of acknowledgment. "That's the plan, yes." I noted. "The thing is, I want you to go with me to L. A. I found a nice looking place for us." I started to explain when I noticed the big ass smile on his face. "You kind of ruined this whole weekend for me." He said jokingly.

"First, you surprised me when I wanted to surprise you by fetching you." He held up a plane ticket. "And then I wanted to surprise you with a house I got us in L. A and wanted to tell you that I'm moving to L. A, as I got an offer for work." He said.

"You got us a house?" I asked my jaw going slack. He chuckled and held his hand under my slack jaw and pushing it back in place. "Yes. And you don't have to be surprised because you know how I feel about you. Our relationship is permanent and so is my love for you, Adams." He confessed.

"Next thing I know you are going down on one knee." I joked trying to wrap my mind about what is going on. He quirked an eyebrow. "That was a joke." I informed him. He only gave me a smile. "Only for now." He kissed my lips. He then waved at Nicole once he spotted her in the car.

"I can cancel my hour at the gym if you want spend time here with me." He offered. "No, go get in your hour's gym because you need to prepare for tonight." He chuckled as he got my joke. "I need to go say hi to my dad and Meredith. And probably pick Jonah up from school." He nodded.

"Meet me here tonight or at your place?" He asked teasing me with a butterfly kisses on my cheek. "I want to say at a hotel but that just sounds naughty." I said cupping his cheek to direct his lips back to mine. "I don't mind. I don't want the guys to hear how I can make you scream." I just rolled my eyes at his comment.

"See you later, Hills." I said pulling out of his arms. "See you later, angel."
