Although I didn’t think deeply about it, my heart was suddenly struck as if someone had pulled a thread, causing a sharp paint
Yet I didn’t dwell on it and was taken directly to Starlight Media by Fredrica.
Iris was also there.
Due to the chaos caused by the Kemnis family, 1 was afraid of any potential trouble, so I didn’t serid Iris to school that day.
Tris was led
d by Thomas.
“Mummy!” She quickly rushed i
my arms. Even though it had only been a few hours, she missed me dearly.
I lowered myself to catch her small body, feeling the soft and tender touch in my embrace, and my once frozen heart softened instantly.
“Is Iris being good? Didn’t you disturb Uncle Thomas’s livestream?” I asked)
Igently.
“Not at all.” Thomas replied on Iris’s behalf, his voice clear and gentle.
It inexplicably reminded people of the clear spring in a mountain stream.
His fair and clean face showed a hint of concern for me. When he looked at me, his eyes curled in a way that was just right, not offensive.
“Mummy, Iris is being really good.” Iris chimed in.
In fact, after banging out with John and Fredrica for some time, Iris’s temperament had changed quite a bit, becoming mischievous and lively.
But she wanted Thomas to be her dad.
Iris thought that if she behaved well. Thomas would like her more.
“Uncle Thomas is handsome and gentle. He can also do difficult dances on the ice Iris praised Thomas endlessly, glancing at me with her big eyes.
It was clear that she was trying to promote Thomas to me.
I understood her little scheme but pretended not to notice, gently booping her nose and saying, “Mummy has something to tell you.”
Iris reluctantly waved to Thomas, “Goodbye, Uncle Thomas.”
Tredrica felt a bit jealous and said, “Even at such a young age, she knows to be infatuated with handsome guys and forget her friends
Tris posted and ran over to give Fredrica’s nose a peck. “I haven’t forgotten my godmother. Ser only kiss you like this. I’ve never kissed Uncle Thomas.”
Indeed, she reserved the kisses for her mommy.
Fredrica chuckled, feeling satisfied. She playfully returned the bases on Iris’s le face and then nudged her gently. “Go inside with mommy now.”
I took Iris into Tredrea’s dedicated office.
I closed the door.
Settling Iris on a chair, I gently pressed her small shoulders and spoke up, “Mommy has talked things through with the Kemnis family today. From now on, they won’t take you away anymore.”
“Really?” A visible relief washed over Iris’s lille fare.
The memories left by the Kemnis family during their last encounter were too unpleasant, making her even more resentful of them
“Mommy, were they not bullying you?” She immediately expressed her concern.
Using her soft little hands, she gently examined my face, inspecting it from top to bottom.
In my memory, when Diana was unhappy, she would slap me.
Only when she saw no marks on my face did is feel at ease.
I silently watched my daughter’s every move, feeling a soft warmth in my heart.
During my time with the Kemis family, only Iris cared about me.
Every time I was slapped by Diana or treated harshly by Pamela, Iris would come to comfort me.
Holding her tender little band, I smiled gently and said, “Don’t worry, Mommy won’t let them bully us anymore.”
“Also, Mommy wants to apologize to you.” At this point, I lowered my head with embarrassment and explained to Iris how I had convinced the Kemna family to give up on us.
“I’m sorry, Iris, Mommy set a bad example, so please don’t follow me in this matter.”
Even if I didn’t say it, Iris would eventually find out from the Remnis family.
Besides, we had a close relationship as a family.
I wanted to maintain a democratic and open relationship with Iris rather than a traditional elder–and–junior relationship
“Mominy said I’m the daughter of the boss of Starlight Media, and you happen to be the boss of Starlight Media, it’s the truth, Iris cleverly replied. “So, momny didn’t lie; you just changed the way of speaking.”
Her words surprised me, and I couldn’t help but pause.
When did this little girl become so clever? She even knew about the “way of speaking”?
Seeing my puzzled expression, Iris proudly blinked her hig eyes and said, “Uncle Fredrics and Uncle Thomas have taught me a lot about hosting live broadcasts and told me that the way of speaking is very important in attracting others‘ attention. I’ve been learning diligently.”
Iris had a look of pride, as if she were saying, “Im very capable, and I’m proud of it.”
I couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
I remained silent and continued to stroke the soft hair of the little girl.
Iris’s progress was clearly visible.
Cutting ties with the Kennis family was indeed a wise decision.
As I was thinking, my phone rang
I looked down and saw a familiar number.
This number was so familiar to me.
In the past, I had wanted to dial this number countless times, but I never dared to touch it.
Afraid that the other person would be dissatisfied.
But now I suddenly feel nothing?
I realized that once a person decided to change, they could become as calm as still water, cold, and ruthless
For example, now I had no desire to hear that rolce again.
