Chapter 7: ..

Selene's pov.

Becca smiled like a lunatic as blood dripped slowly from her hands, onto the sink and down on the floor.

I ignored the throbbing pain at the back of my head.

"Becca are you alright?" I asked, scared that she was losing too much blood already.

"Don't touch me." She shrieked.

My brows creased in confusion, I don't get what's happening here.

"You need to get to nurse Mira's, you're losing so much blood already."

"I said, stay back!!"she screamed again.

She backed away to the entrance, I don't get how she could bring herself to do that.

I followed her stupidly out of the restroom.

If anything happens to her, it'll be on me, since we were the only ones in the rest room.

"Becca, stop." I called her again.

She kept on, walking, leaving trails of blood along the hallway.

Ethan was coming out of a classroom and Becca collided into him.

"Thank God." I breathed excitedly.

"Ethan, we need to take her to the nurse's office, she's hurt."

Ethan took one look at Becca's blood stained hand.

"What happened to your hand?".

Becca, who had a maniacal smile plastered on her face earlier, started sobbing.

She pointed at me with her uninjured hand.

"It was Selene, I only wanted to let her know that I understand why she had to ride with you yesterday, I wasn't done talking before she yanked at my hair."

I blinked multiple times, I can't believe the words that spewed out of her mouth easily.

It left me speechless and stunned.

I don't expect Ethan to believe her, we don't know each other that well, only that he loves picking on me, but I can barely hurt a fly, considering how fragile I am.

Ethan cradled Becca in his arms protectively.

"How could you, Selene?, she was just trying to be nice to you." Ethan shouted.

His voice echoed in my head and made it throb more.

"Me?, I didn't even, she was." My words were getting mixed up.

"Don't even bother to lie, I never knew you were this aggressive." Ethan silenced me.

"Ethan, she started it by calling my mom names, I only pulled at her hair."

"Hard enough to throw me at the mirror, my fist went crashing into it and that's how I got cut." Becca sobbed into Ethan's chest.

"Look at my fingers." She whimpered.

Ethan parted her hair soothingly.

"Find your own ride home, I'm taking Becca to the hospital."

Ethan carried Becca in his arms, and I was left standing there with a banging headache.

I felt something warm slide down my face, my fingers went up to, one touch and I knew I had a bruised head.

The impact of my head with the sink.

Becca had achieved her aim, to make Ethan see me as an aggressive person.

I knew she was a bully, but I never expected her to pull a dangerous move.

The glass could have cut a vein, and she would have died.

I went back to the class to grab my backpack.

A group of girls were chatting unceremoniously when I walked in.

They stopped chatting when I entered, I couldn't care less what they were talking about.

True to his words, Ethan wasn't taking me home, after all the nice speech he gave in the morning.

Becca's middle finger came up as Ethan drove by.

I was wrong, she wanted me to stop riding with Ethan.

She never believed I was a competition in the first place.

All that self harm, just to get a ride with Ethan, how pathetic.

I walked the two hours journey back to the house, the sun did not help matters as it shone blazes on my bruised head.

By the time I got home, I was more than exhausted.

As if the maid read my mind, she brought an ice pack and a glass of juice to help my parched throat.

I smiled sweetly at her.

"Hmmm." I groaned as I placed the ice pack on my head.

The entrance door opened and I spotted Ethan walking in.

"You're back early, I thought you took Becca to the hospital." My voice was laced with anger.

"After what you did to her, you shouldn't be talking to me right now, you're lucky she's not dead." He eyed me.

"Dead?, I almost got killed by her, and she did it to herself."

Ethan was close to where I sat now.

"That's absurd, no human would do that, knowing the risks that come with it."

I turned my face away, it's pointless trying to get him to believe.

Becca has him wrapped around her slutty fingers.

"What happened to you?" His voice fell.

I ignored him,

"None of your business."

"It is my business if you're living under my roof and my dad puts you under my responsibility."

He grabbed the ice pack from my hand.

"Hey, give it back." I tried to shout, but the pain shot through my skull.

"Hold still, you're not doing it right." He said, and sat in front of me.

I could smell his scent, sweat mixed with his expensive cologne.

"You should be careful where you bump your head into." He said calmly.

I snatched the pack from his hand.

I can't tell him Becca did this to me, i didn't even notice, talking now will bring about more arguments.

He snatched the ice pack back.

"Why are you always so stubborn?"

He grabbed both my hands and tucked them between his legs.

The feeling of my hands stuck there caused a sudden increase in my blood pressure.

I tried to wiggle free, it wasn't working.

"I don't need you to be nice to me." I grumbled.

"I'm not, I still hate your guts."

After a few minutes, he removed the pack,

"The swelling will reduce, I've got some pain meds you can use in my room."

He let go of my hand, and I relaxed back to the chair.

I caught him staring intensely at me and I couldn't help but shift uneasily.

He leaned in close.

"Have you ever been kissed, Greasely.?”
