"It seems that these people are taking my command more and more casually recently!" Pushing the files away, Dantai Xihe was simmering with rage. He had been dealing with the national affairs for so long. It was the first time that he had ever seen someone audacious enough to challenge his authority.
She was just a woman, but she dared to be so unbridled. It seemed that he had been too soft on them recently so that these women took advantage of it and did such a shameful thing!
"Have mercy, Your Majesty. In any case, these are the Prince Regent's domestic affairs. Even if Your Majesty is outraged, you might as well not get involved in your minister's family affairs!" Seeing the look on Dantai Xihe's face, the eunuch knelt down on the ground immediately and reminded Dantai Xihe loudly.
These eunuchs usually worked very hard.
"Of course I know what I shouldn't do. After all, this woman is the Attendant Consort of Prince Regent. For that, I'll leave it to himself!" Dantai Xihe gradually simmered down and said coldly.
But even so, he was still not completely over it yet. He had been definitely blind to have introduced such a malevolent woman to his own brother!
"Your Majesty, I can call in the Prince Regent if you wish to see him, but there is something I hope you can take into consideration." The eunuch advised Dantai Xihe, because after working for so long by his side, he knew what his master was thinking just by looking at his face.
Dantai Xihe nodded and said: "Send someone to invite the Prince Regent to the Royal Palace immediately. I will tell him everything in person, and no one shall spill a word!" His cold words were an order for others to shut up.
Someone might have figured out what was going on during the investigation, and it would do harm to the Prince Regent’s reputation if this affair spreads out from gossipy servants.
"I can guarantee to deliver Your Majesty's order properly, but I have no control over what they would do next!" The eunuch sighed.
It was not something they could control, so they could only do their best. And to people who attempted to leaked it, they could only...
"If someone leaks it out, you may just execute them directly. Only the dead will not talk, or defend themselves." Dantai Xihe said coldly.
It’s pitiful if anyone got killed because of gossiping about affairs concerning the Royal Family, which was indeed a serious disrespect. But it’s their own fault that they didn’t know what shouldn’t be talked about after having been working in the Royal Palace for so long.
"Your Majesty, I get what you mean. I’ll go and announce your order now!" Then the eunuch ran out instantly, passed on the Emperor’s order to the servants, and went to the Prince Palace to invite the Prince Regent.
It was late. The Palace in the sun looked magnificent. But who knows how many filthy and unspeakable secrets were lying underneath, or how many young lives had quietly vanished there?
The eunuch suddenly felt a little sad. But he snapped himself out of this melancholy moment. The most important thing at present was to deal with what His Majesty had assigned to him.
"Why does His Majesty wish to see me at this time?" Dantai Yunhan slightly frowned as soon as he heard that he had been called to the Palace.
Usually at this time, there wouldn't be anything urgent enough for him to enter the Palace. What's more, Dantai Xihe handled almost all national affairs alone. There was no need for him to enter the Palace at all.
"His Majesty told me nothing but to invite Your Highness. Why don’t you go to the Royal Palace and ask His Majesty about it?" The eunuch answered respectfully.
Dantai Yunhan sighed and followed the eunuch to the Royal Palace right away without carefully dressing himself up. He thought that it must have been important enough for Dantai Xihe to call him in then.
Dantai Yunhan said as soon as he entered the Royal Study: "Long live the Emperor. For what matter did Your Majesty summon me here?"
Seeing Dantai Yunhan, Dantai Xihe smiled and said, "It’s just that I have something to discuss with you. How do you think we should deal with the women in our palaces?"
Dantai Xihe asked straightforward since Dantai Yunhan didn't beat around the bush. This affair should be handled by Dantai Yunhan himself because it was his concubines who caused the trouble.
"How would I know? Anyway, I haven’t heard of anything indecent and it's been peaceful in my Palace", said Dantai Yunhan in a relaxed tone. He seldom interfered with domestic affairs in his Palace, letting matters slide.
"It's easy to say. You weren’t even aware of what had happened in your own Palace!" Dantai Xihe scolded Dantai Yunhan straightforward. It might not be good for him to interfere with his minister’s family affairs as the Emperor, but it’s reasonable for him to express his opinions as Dantai Yunhan's brother.
However, Dantai Yunhan joked with him: "Normally my Palace is peaceful, and if any trouble arises it will more likely to occur in your Royal Palace." He didn't seem to care much.
Dantai Xihe sighed for he really didn’t know what to say to his brother. It didn’t matter that Dantai Yunhan loved drinking and women, but how he could treat such a serious issue so carelessly.
"You’d better pay more attention to your domestic affairs if you don't want to die in your own Palace without knowing who the culprit is", said Dantai Xihe with a frustrated expression while he stroked his forehead. He didn’t know when Dantai Yunhan could be wiser or when he no longer needed to worry about this younger brother.
Looking at Dantai Xihe, Dantai Yunhan blinked and asked: "Why don’t Your Majesty just tell me everything directly since I’m not clever enough to figure out what you mean?"
Dantai Xihe said in a low voice, "A fire has started in your backyard, and soon it will catch you."
