Chapter 162: Blood

Harry sighed, “Let Carina go now!”

“I can let her go right now if she will comply and give me those damned documents! All I want are those documents she printed on my laptop. Every single one of them” Sara yelled.

“Okay, I will give them to you,” Harry replied.

“Are you serious? So it means she stole the documents as I suspected. Gosh!” Sara exclaimed.

“Well, it was only one document, I have it and I will give it to you. Just leave her alone” Harry screamed

“It wasn’t just one, she printed a whole lot more. I could tell from the number of papers she took from my study.” Sara replied.

“Okay fine, if there are other documents, I will ask her to give them to you. Just let her go.”

As Harry was pleading with her, a guard charged at him, he could feel him approaching so he hung up the phone and landed a punch on his opponent before he could attack him. He ran up the mountain, hoping and praying that he would catch up with Sara and save Carina.

But Sara wasn’t stupid, she glared at Carina and knew it would be over the moment Harry stepped foot in the cabin.

She left the porch and reentered the cabin where they were holding Carina hostage. “Phil, Mike, we have to get the hostage and move to our next location. Harry is on his way here,” he said to her guards.

“But miss, a wind storm will be coming soon and I don’t think it’s safe to travel now.” Phil tried to pull out of the sudden trip.

“Did you hear what I said? I said Harry is on his way here. He will mess things up for me if he gets here.” she yelled.

Carina tried to break free from the chair when she heard Harry’s name.

“You better stay still unless you want to get smacked in the face again. You already have a black eye.” Sara yelled at her.

She looked up and tried to talk but it hurt even to move her jaw, her legs and hands were numb from being in the same position at the same time.

“Grab her and let’s move now,” Sara instructed. The guard quickly untied the ropes that bound her to the chair and tried to move her but Carina fell to the ground instead because her feet were numb.

She didn’t want to be moved to the next location as it would make it hard for Harry to find her but it was obvious she was going to be taken away anyway so she had to come up with a way to help Harry find her, as she lay on the floor and got kicked by Sara to get up.

She saw a nail on the floor, she smiled and slowly rolled over as if she was getting away from Sara’s kicks but she was rolling to where the nail was positioned. Her hands were tied to her back but she had to manage to get the nail to prick her hard and deep enough to make her blood gush out. Phil grabbed her by the hair and aggressively pulled her up.

Just when she was on her feet she took about two steps closer to the nail and then tripped and fell on the floor again. This time she fell closer to the nail and pricked her finger very hard on it. Blood rushed down her finger and she shut her eyes tightly in pain and tried not to cry.

“Let’s go!’ Sara said hurrying out of the cabin. Phill dragged Carina which caused the nail to rip and scratch the other part of her hand. Carina couldn’t bear the pain anymore, a tear dropped down her eyes as she was dragged out of the house. Blood began oozing out of her finger, it dripped gently in the snow as they moved higher up the mountains.

“How long do we have till we get to where we are going?” she yelled when she couldn’t take the torture anymore, it was biting cold and her clothes weren’t doing a good job of keeping her warm.

“Shut the hell up! If you want to be back home in your warm bed, then you should have spoken when I asked you to speak.” Sara yelled.

“Okay, fine. I will speak.” Carina said she was exhausted from the long walk, she couldn’t take it anymore, and she didn’t think she could make it if they kept going like this.

“I’m not a fool, I won’t let us waste time here in the cold by listening to your lies. Let’s keep going, when we get to our destination you can spill the beans.” Sara replied.

“I don’t think I can make it any further, I’m exhausted and I haven’t had any food since morning. It’s dark now and I might faint.” Carina insisted.

“Phil, carry her on your back and let’s go, she’s trying to buy time by keeping us here,” Sara instructed as Phil obeyed. This gave Carina the advantage of being behind, now her trail of blood would go unnoticed by the group, she looked back hoping to see a trace of Harry coming up the mountain.

She was afraid that things would escalate, and Sara would end up killing her, she needed a savior now or she would be gone forever. Was Harry ever going to come to her rescue? Was anyone ever going to come to her rescue?

“How much longer do we have?” Carina cried.

“Shut up, you are being carried yet you are still crying,” Sara yelled at her “You’re such a spoiled child.”

“It said I was going to tell you where the document was. Just end the whole drama here and let’s go back.”

A sinister smile appeared on Sara’s face, “It’s too late Carina, I already committed a crime by bringing you here, I’m not going to let you go easily until we get even and I have my documents in my hands.”

“I said I will show you…”

“I don’t care now, I’m not letting you go till I’m sure that you can’t report me,” she replied.
