Chapter 185: A little Secret Revealed

Richard’s  revelation shocked Alec, leaving him bemused.

He thought of words to say and how to utter them but every word seemed too heavy for his lips to utter.

He glared at the twins, and no doubt, he could see the striking resemblance between him and Ethan while Elon looked so much like his mom.

“A— Are you saying these boys belong to me?” Alec asked Richard with a thumping breath, his words rushed.

“ Yes they are,” Richard replied warmly.

Alec didn't believe that a time like this would ever come—never. But It did come.

He still can't fathom it even when Richard himself kept harming the save word repeatedly.

Vera gave a warm unnoticeable smile, pushing herself up on the seat.

“ I'm very sorry for not  telling you this, Alec… I was afraid… afraid of losing my kids if I show them to their real father” She sighed deeply and paused, unable to speak further.

“I can't believe this… tell me it's all a dream” Alec muttered, his lips parted slightly in awe.

“It's real, Alec” Vera's voice struck coldly. “ Remember the  night when I was complaining of fever?” She took Alec down memory lane.

But Alec didn't keep the memory because of how long it has been.

“I don't think I can remember all of that,” he said, his words rushed.

Vera smiled. “It's okay…it's been a long time anyway but that was the same night I found out that I was pregnant. I wanted to break the good news to you… but I was too scared Alec— just too scared.”

“Goodness! I can't believe this. Isn't this a fairy tale? What if I  wake up and realize it's all a dream?”  Alec's breath thumped, his body gripped by fear

Richard laughed heartedly.

“It’s not a dream, Alec this is real” he said and turned to the boys. “ Hey, boys come here”

Very excitedly, they jumped from Alec's laps, towards grandpa Richard.

“Ethan, Elon, I want to introduce you both to someone” Richard's voice trilled.

“Who’s it Grandpa?” Ethan asked.

“I don't want Mr Toby anymore. He's a monster” Elon blurted  out, a little bit terrified.

“No… no. Mr Toby isn't coming back to this family. Trust me, boys” Richard assured,his voice cracking.

“Okay, grandpa l” they chorused and Ethan suddenly asked.

“So, who are you introducing to us, grandpa?”

Richard grabbed the Two boys very close to him and said with a horse voice.

“See that man over there?” he points at Alec.

“Yeah” he's my new friend.” Ethan said, squealing.

“Oh, really? That must be fun, you know” Richard laughed out loud.

“Yeah, I like him,” Ethan said and Vera giggled.

“Wht do you like, darling? You barely know him” Vera asked and silence fell.

Everyone was anticipating the little boy's response.

Gasping, Ethan let out.” I don't have a reason, mom…but he seems a  cool guy and I love cool guys” Ethan expressed and his brother supported.

“Yeah, and I think he's good at sports too. Grandpa, could you invite our new friend for soccer, please?” Elon begged.

Richard, Alec and Vera  glared at the boys in silence.

Did Ethan just refer to Alec as a cool guy? They fell in love with Alec so quickly.

“Alright boy, I promise to invite Mr Sterling to our next soccer game, alright?”

“Woah, thanks grandpa. Mr Sterling, my brother, Elon, is very good at sports. I'm very sure we'll win you and grandpa if we play together.” Ethan said, very excited.

Alec nodded smoothly. He still was in shock  but just had to reply to the child. “Oh wow, that's really cool” He said almost as if he wasn't present in the place anymore.

“Okay…okay.. let's talk about something different” Richard interrupted. “ Boys, let me introduce you to Mr Sterling”.

“Okay, grandpa” Elon's sharp voice cuts in.

“ I'm sorry boys. Mommy didn't tell you this about your daddy—?”

“Daddy?” Elon's innocent voice cuts in.

“Yes, Elon.” Richard said and his voice lowered. “Mr Sterling is your real father, boys. He just returned to London some months ago”

Richard couldn’t bring himself to tell the boys the truth about their  father. The thought alone felt too cruel. Saying that Alec was out of the country was the kindest lie he could offer, the only answer gentle enough to protect their hearts.

Alec watched as the expression in the children's face transformed.

“ Our Daddy?” Ethan said, his brows furrowing.

“ But Mom said we didn't have a father. How come Mr Sterling is suddenly our Daddy” Elon asked quizzically.

For kids like Elon, he can never be convinced about a thing especially if it Seems to have little or no evidence in it. He was just like his mom.

Richard knew he would have problems dealing with the kids, especially Elon.

“I’m sorry about that, darling. Daddy is here now.  Grandpa and I thought he wouldn't be coming back to London. But daddy is here now… so say hi to him” Vera said. That was the only answer she could give her private investigator, Elon.

Ethan didn't waste time asking questions. He didn't want to be convinced about anything.

For Ethan, anything mommy and grandpa says is right. Afterall, he liked Alec already and as long as Alec would play sports with them, then he would be welcomed to be his daddy.

Ethan jumped on Alec's body at once and Alec planted a soft kiss on his forehead.

Tears of joy brimmed down his eyes and didn't hide the tears for once.

“I love you, son… I'm sorry for leaving… for not staying with mommy” Alec begged, his eyes filled with tears.

Elon was a little reclusive. He wasn't convinced about his new dad.

“Come on, Elon. Go say’hi’ to your daddy” Richard persuaded him.

It took too some time before the kid loosened up and ran cheerfully to Alec.

“Are you my daddy for real?” He asked Alec even as Alec wrapped him around.

Alec smiled. “ Maybe we can play some soccer games to prove that. If I win, it means I'm your daddy”

“And If I win?” Elon asked and everywhere fell silent.
