Chapter 120 Shameless Family

Chapter 120 Shameless Family

"Vulgar." Angelina commented coldly and arrogantly.

"Lucas, stop throwing tantrums." Leonardo seemed quite helpless. "Grandpa is so old and still has to worry about you. You deliberately embarrass the family, and he's gotten so angry he's fallen ill several times."

"Seems like he's not sick enough if he still has the energy to create all this trouble." Lucas sneered disdainfully. "Besides this trick, he's got nothing else. Go back and tell him I won't help the Valeri family's business anymore. I won't pay to cover the losses. I want to watch the Valeri family go bankrupt with my own eyes!"

"Are you crazy?" Leonardo got anxious. "What has Grandpa done to wrong you? What has the family done to wrong you? If it's about you being stripped of your inheritance rights..."

"Enough, shut up!" Lucas rubbed his temples. "I must be crazy to waste time here with you guys. Don't want to leave? Then stay here!"

He made a gesture, and the Soldati on both sides pulled out their guns, aiming at Leonardo's group. In a blink, they separated him from Angelina, forming two circles of encirclement while leaving the middle path clear.

"Let's go." Lucas said to me.

He naturally pushed me into the car, closed the door, and told Adrian to drive.

Watching his fluid and effortless movements, I couldn't help but be speechless. "Why are you getting in my car?"

"My car got blocked by them." Lucas gave a pretty lame excuse, then leaned close to fasten my seatbelt.

As he leaned in, his presence enveloped me. I instinctively wanted to dodge but had nowhere to go.

After fastening my seatbelt, Lucas didn't sit back. He stayed close to me, resting his head on my shoulder and complaining unhappily, "Angelina is so annoying! Before you came, I refused so many times, but she just wouldn't listen. She kept repeating the same few sentences like a broken record!"

I twitched my lips. "You're way more annoying than her."

Lucas took it as a compliment. "She can't compare to me. She can't even touch the hem of my clothes, but I can hold you."

I glanced at him, couldn't help wondering what kind of classes he'd taken to learn this clingy style.

"Get away from me."

Lucas ignored me completely. "I cut off cooperation with the family. Grandpa is very angry."

I raised my eyebrows. Lucas had lost the coldness and hostility he'd shown when facing Leonardo and Angelina. Despite being so tall and big, he was curled up next to me acting pitiful.

I saw the darkness in his eyes and softened, not pushing him away.

"Besides Leonardo, David will come in two days too." Lucas said.

I frowned. David was Donald's first son, a year older than Lucas, and highly valued by Donald.

I knew Lucas's childhood had never been favored by Donald, because Donald gave all his favoritism to David.

And although Holden cared about Lucas, he gave David no fewer resources than Lucas.

"What's he coming for?" I asked sullenly.

"Of course he wants to grab the Chaotic Zone." Halfway through, Lucas's phone rang.

He looked at the caller's name for several seconds before answering. "I'm very busy. Get to the point."

Donald's furious voice came through the phone. "You rejected Angelina? Do you know what a huge opportunity you just turned down? There are very few eligible daughters in the Marr family. Your grandfather spent so much effort to arrange this marriage contract with the Marr family, you bastard! You idiot!"

Donald's roar made me involuntarily clench my fists. Lucas nuzzled into my neck and said mockingly, "If you like her, you can ask Grandpa to switch the marriage partner to you. I don't mind having another stepmother."

"You're not father and son anymore." I calmly reminded him.

"Right." Lucas acted like he just remembered. "Donald, you have no right to lecture me."

"Who was that speaking just now?" Donald heard my voice and demanded, "Is that Isabella? I order you not to associate with her anymore! She's turned Dawnharbor upside down and made the Valeri family a laughingstock!"

"You guys are ridiculous, that's why people laugh. What does it have to do with Bella?" Lucas's gaze dropped as he grabbed my hand, opening my clenched fist and sliding his fingers between mine in an intimate interlocking gesture.

"How could I have given birth to a bastard like you!" Donald's voice trembled with anger.

"From a genetic standpoint, if you're a bastard, naturally you'll give birth to bastards." Lucas curved his lips wickedly. "You've had over a dozen bastards. How pathetic."

"You!" Donald's breathing became rapid, like he might pass out any second, but Lucas hung up at that moment.

I shook off his hand and pushed him away. "Sit farther away, don't lean on me. You're heavy."

Lucas reluctantly sat up straight and asked seriously, "How about you lean on me instead? You can press on me however you want."

I narrowed my eyes, reasonably suspecting he was flirting with me.

Then Lucas's phone rang again. This time it was Holden calling.

Lucas put away the playfulness on his face and answered irritably. "I won't do the arranged marriage."

"I know, if you don't want to, forget it." Holden surprisingly agreed good-naturedly. Lucas and I exchanged glances, both showing surprise.

"I'm old. Come back to Dawnharbor." Holden said. "The Valeri family was always meant to be yours. You should inherit it. While I'm still alive, I can guide you for a few more years."

"You want me to inherit the Valeri family?" Lucas's tone sounded delighted, but looking at his expression, it was clearly gloomy.

"Yes, the Valeri family believes in 'might makes right.' You're stronger than anyone, the most legitimate heir." Holden said in a gentle tone.

"What about things here in Starstream City?" Lucas asked, tapping his fingers on his knee.

"Leave it to David. The Northern District business isn't big, can't compare to the family's entire enterprise. Let him manage it for you. You come back and focus on the family business."

After Holden finished, I couldn't help saying, "Shameless."

There was silence on the other end. "Isabella?"

"It's me." I said sarcastically. "The Valeri family's business is in trouble, so you want to trick Lucas into going back to clean up your mess, and you want to take away the business Lucas worked so hard to build in Starstream City. Dream on. Lucas, hang up."

Lucas looked at me with smiling eyes. "As you wish."

He hung up decisively and leaned toward me. "You feel bad for me?"

"I feel bad for my ears, having to listen to all that nonsense." I snorted lightly.

"I'll make it up to you. How about a kiss?" Lucas shamelessly suggested.

"Get lost!" I finally understood why Lucas was so shameless - it came from his father and grandfather!

Although Lucas rejected both Donald's and Holden's proposals, David still came.

City Hall sent a large number of people into the Chaotic Zone, but the governance work wasn't going smoothly. Every day there were incidents of people looting supplies, and casualties kept increasing.

At the same time, more and more people came to Starstream City. They represented their respective families, going to the Government District, the Co-governed District, even the Northern District, checking into my Platinum Haven Hotel.

They all had their eyes on the Chaotic Zone, treating it like a piece of fat meat that everyone wanted a bite of.

Amelia and the assassin organization formed by twenty-three killers seized territory in the southern part of the Chaotic Zone at this time.
