Chapter 110 He Wants Me

Chapter 110 He Wants Me

Matteo's eyes burst with infinite surprise, "I will! I'll definitely pay you back!"

I told him to find a quiet, clean place. He opened the door of The Pack House and invited us in.

The Pack House looked shabby on the outside, and was even more shabby on the inside.

The dusty gray floor wasn't even cemented. Not only was it uneven, but it also had many holes that could easily make you twist your ankle if you weren't careful.

White incandescent lights were installed on the ceiling, but they were just for show. The actual light sources were candles and flashlights!

Matteo found the most spacious and cleanest room, changed the bed sheets and blankets according to my instructions, then placed Irene, who had just taken a simple bath, on the bed.

I took a metal box from Adrian. Inside were various simplified medical tools and medicines.

"There's deworming medicine and anti-inflammatory shots here. I can treat her right now," I said. "The parasites are breeding in her intestines, damaging the intestinal lining and absorbing nutrients from her body. That's why she's so weak. After treatment, she needs good rest, plus clean water and nutritious food."

Matteo nodded, showing he remembered, but he looked a bit worried. Clean water and food weren't much in other places, but here they were incredibly expensive.

I wiped Irene's arm with an alcohol swab, preparing to give her the anti-inflammatory shot.

Because of the pain, her body was still trembling slightly, her small face covered in tears, looking heartbreaking.

The moment the needle pierced her skin, Irene let out a short cry, then weakly closed her eyes again. I slowly pushed the syringe, moving as gently as possible, injecting the medicine into her body.

"The deworming medicine needs to be taken on an empty stomach. When she feels a bit better, feed it to her." I handed the medicine to Matteo and instructed, "She might have diarrhea after taking it. That's normal. Make sure she drinks plenty of water so she doesn't get dehydrated. You can add a little salt and sugar to the water. If she develops a fever or keeps vomiting, contact me right away."

Matteo carefully took the medicine box, thanking me with restrained emotion.

His gaze was too intense. Lucas unhappily blocked him, silently warning him.

Matteo quickly shook his head and stepped back, keeping his distance from me.

After settling Irene, we walked out of the room. The Night Wolves members weren't as hostile toward me as before. Matteo must have said something. They didn't crowd around me, but they would sneak glances, though most of their eyes were on Lucas, filled with fanatic worship and admiration.

Lucas ignored everyone, staying close by my side, filling Cole's position.

He observed how Adrian took care of me, how he handed me various small things when I needed them, like handkerchiefs, alcohol swabs, and a thermos. Then he released his pressure to silently force Adrian. Whatever Adrian took out, he would snatch away and then hand to me.

"Childish!" I couldn't help muttering quietly.

Lucas just smiled.

I checked the time and asked him, "Weren't you here to find someone?"

Lucas had almost forgotten this excuse. After remembering, he said casually, "Not looking anymore. Are you heading back?"

I answered, "Yes."

"Then let's go back. I'll take you to the hotel," Lucas said.

I first took Karen home. After Karen got out of the car, Lucas changed seats, very naturally sitting beside me.

"You think highly of Matteo?" he asked, with a hint of jealousy in his tone.

"Matteo has a good nature. He's loyal, careful, and patient. Just being a Soldato is a waste, but he's not quite qualified to be a Caporegime yet." I looked at the scenery outside the window. The warm sun shining on me made me a bit sleepy. "Let's give him more challenges. I believe he'll surprise me."

Lucas didn't like my evaluation of Matteo. He took out a lighter from his pocket and somewhat irritably flipped the lid open with his thumb, then snapped it shut.

The noise he made annoyed me. "If you can't stay quiet, get out of the car."

Lucas said nothing, glanced at me, and silently put the lighter back in his pocket.

He openly showed his displeasure. If it were before, I probably would have tried various ways to cheer him up, but the me now wasn't the me from before.

Lucas sulked silently for a while. Finding that I really wasn't going to pay attention to him, his expression grew even colder, but occasionally when he looked at me, there was some gloom and grievance hidden in his eyes.

I comfortably dozed off. After Gale left, my workload increased and I'd been lacking sleep lately. I planned to rest during the car ride, but I ended up falling into a deep sleep.

I woke up when the car bumped. Adrian was driving into the parking lot, going over a speed bump.

There was no sunlight in the underground parking lot, but I still felt very warm. After becoming a bit more alert, I realized I was nestled in Lucas's arms.

I was lying on my side on the back seat, taking up most of the space. Despite Lucas's tall frame, I had squeezed him into a corner. His legs were curled up, but his long arms held me tightly, his head nodding bit by bit, also dozing off.

My hands rested on his waist, making it look like I was hugging him. Our breaths mingled as we slept in each other's arms—no wonder it was so warm.

My feelings were a bit complicated. My ears caught Lucas's slightly heavy, low breathing. Looking up, I saw his dark circles.

Was Oscar's medical skill any good? Was the medicine he prescribed useless? Why did Lucas still look like he was sleeping terribly?

As my mind wandered, I slowly sat up.

Lucas instantly woke up, instinctively holding me tighter, his chin rubbing against the top of my head. "Awake?"

His lazy, low voice was very sexy. I felt a tingling sensation in my ears.

Lucas suddenly said, "Your ears are red. You like it when I talk to you like this?"

Before I could answer, he lowered his head and took my earlobe in his mouth. I felt my scalp tingle, as if most of my strength had been drained.

"Let me go!" Having just woken up, my voice was a bit soft and sweet, sounding completely non-threatening.

Lucas obediently released his mouth, but before lifting his head, he quickly licked my earlobe once more.

Embarrassed and angry, I raised my hand to hit him. Lucas easily caught my wrist, blocking my attack, then under my glare, pulled my hand to slap his own cheek.

A light sound—you could tell from the sound that it didn't hurt at all.

He pulled my other hand to slap his other cheek, his gaze tender and lingering, as if looking at a lover engaged in playful banter with him.

Lucas's gaze made me uncomfortable all over. I pushed him away forcefully and opened the car door to get out. Lucas knew how to make me willingly stay. He said, "Want the territory in Chaotic Zone? I can help you."

I was indeed attracted by his words. After hesitating for a few seconds, I closed the car door again. "You want to work with me? How? Let me be clear first—I want at least half of Chaotic Zone's territory, and it has to be the northern part, not scattered, fragmented pieces."

Chaotic Zone was poor and broken. Getting a place too small was basically worthless. The northern territory was close to Platinum Haven Hotel. Once it became mine, the Sorelli family's territory could expand further.

However, the southern territory of Chaotic Zone was far from Northern District. I figured Lucas probably wouldn't agree.

Unexpectedly, he nodded. "Fine. I can give you all of Chaotic Zone, as long as you want it."

"What are the conditions? What do you want?" I asked.

Lucas looked at me steadily. "What I want, you know very well."

I couldn't help but fall silent. His gaze seemed glued to me. I knew—he wanted me.
