Chapter 11
"I was hoping even if..."
"Maggie, I appreciate you calling me," Keir said. " but honestly..."
"I am actually in the waiting room, I was hoping to see you," Maggie interrupted him. She knew she sounded kind of desperate right now but after what they had done that day she couldn't get him off her head, his touch, his words, there was something about everything, and the way he had looked at her with those lustful eyes.
She had been in his office first thing in the morning demanding to see him but they wouldn't let her in, requesting if she had an appointment so they could check her name on the list.
She had tried to bribe the receptionist but the receptionist had only laughed in her face and told her to respect herself. She decided to sit in the waiting room and she was amazed to see it packed with a lot of ladies who also didn't have an appointment but were either looking for a job or just wanted to see Keir.
She had gone back to the receptionist this time increasing the money she had offered before, this time she didn't get a laugh she got an eye roll but a piece of paper with the number of the personal assistant, she was pleased, headed back to her seat and decided to try her luck.
"It doesn't..."
"Please, just this one time," Maggie interrupted yet again.
Keir disconnected the call pressing the button on his desk as a knock fell on his door twice.
"Come in," Keir said as his assistant walked in, he handed her back her phone. "Go to the waiting room and get me, Miss Maggie."
Keir leaned on his chair, he was not in the mood to go out to any dinner, and from the way she was sounding, she was hellbent on seeing him through any means necessary.
His purpose of seeing her was to get it over with and because he was in a good mood but mainly because he was in a good mood but mainly because he was in a good mood.
He wasn't one to do things like this, it had nothing to do with hating her or any other woman he had been with, he just felt the need to respect their feelings by not hurting them further because right now he wasn't looking for anything serious.
"Yes sir," the personal assistant nodded rushing out to get Miss Maggie, she figured she was a new client or a close friend to Mr. Hydra because it was unusual for him to instruct her to go get anybody from the waiting room, ninety percent of the people in the waiting room were people who didn't have an appointment for their business proposal or those who needed a job or worst just wanted to see Mr Hydra.
The interesting part was that they were all women, she was sure some of them who even come to offer proposals didn't even care about the proposal being approved they just wanted to see Mr. Hydra through any means.
If her boss had demanded her to get this lady without her whatsoever then he must be in a good mood today and it would be an opportunity for her to tell him about the need to get a raise as well as a break by next month's end.
He had to be in a good mood because when she came back inside she had not seen Robert on guard but another bodyguard.
Keir watched his personal assistant runoff, he stared around his office to be sure things were in order, and he went through the paperwork on his desk afterward to be sure he didn't have any meeting soon.
Lately, he found himself missing his meetings and having to propose them. It was one thing to look unserious and not professional when it came to your business.
"Right, this way Ma," he could hear his assistant yelling down the hall as a knock fell on his door twice," Come in."
"Miss Maggie Sir," his assistant announced stepping into his office first and then motioning Miss Maggie in.
Maggie walked into the office with a smile on her face, she had been about to give up when Keir hang up on her but before she knew it her name was called out. She was pleased to hear that he had requested to see her immediately. She had walked out of that waiting room with her head up high as the other ladies sited stared at her with disdain and envy in their eyes. She was sure she heard something like 'She just got here but i have been here since yesterday' from one of the ladies.
She walked towards Keir who was leaning into his chair, he stretched his hand forward telling her to come sit opposite him. She had expected him to offer her a seat on the couch and not on that chair opposite him, she wanted to sit close to him and if possible touch him again but well she couldn't complain just yet she was here now so she could gladly convince him to do her bidding.
She took the seat opposite him gladly,
"Thank you," she appreciated.
"What would you like to drink or snack on?" Keir asked immediately.
"Nothing, I am fine," Maggie smiled.
"Alright," Keir said. He watched his personal assistant bow her head to both of them as she stood by the door, she had been waiting for Miss Maggie to take her seat and place her order so she could go get it immediately but she was pleased to hear that the woman didn't want anything to drink at all. She headed out immediately before she changed her mind.
"Thank you for seeing me," Maggie appreciated.
"I was bored," Keir said bluntly. Maggie stared at him not knowing if he was joking or not as he had a smirk on his face.
"I know you must have a really busy schedule today," Maggie said not knowing how to start a conversation with him. She wondered what he would like to talk about as he seemed to be a man who was hard to read. Maybe he enjoyed talking about his business, a lot of men she had met in the past enjoyed talking about themselves and their achievements.
She had once been on a date and the man preferred to bore her with his business talks, he didn't give her room to speak, and neither did he care to ask about her own opinion.
"What exactly do you want Maggie?" Keir asked not wanting to waste time bickering about irrelevant stuff. He stared at her as she smiled at him timidly, it seemed she enjoyed smiling here and there, or maybe she was actually nervous. Of course she was, he could see one of her hands on her lap trembling as she tried to control it with the other hand.
Why was she suddenly nervous? Wasn't she the one insisting on them meeting up, for her to insist it meant that she already had what she was going to say planned out and was just looking for the right opportunity.
