Chapter 38

VIVIAN AND KIAN’S POV

As Kian emerged from the bathroom, he looked refreshed and rejuvenated. "Are you good now?" I asked, noticing the change in his demeanor.

"Yeah, very much good," he replied, flashing a smile.

I smiled back, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. "I should take my leave now," I said, gesturing towards the door.

But just as I was about to turn and leave, Kian suddenly touched his head and winced. "I am feeling a headache," he said, his face contorted in a grimace.

I raised an eyebrow, skeptical. I knew Kian well enough to recognize when he was faking it. And this was definitely one of those times.

"Really?" I asked, my tone laced with doubt.

Kian nodded vigorously, trying to convince me. "Yeah, it's a really bad one. I think I need to lie down."

I sighed, shaking my head. "Kian, you're not fooling anyone with that act," I said, my voice firm but gentle.

Kian looked up at me, his eyes sheepish. "What act?" he asked, trying to feign innocence.

I chuckled. "Don't play dumb, Kian. I know you're just trying to keep me from leaving."

Kian's face turned bright red as he realized he had been caught. "Okay, fine," he admitted, his voice defeated. "I don't want you to leave. I want you to stay with me."

I smiled, my heart melting at his words.

I hesitated a bit but I dont want to leave him either so I decided to stay back

"Hold on, I will be back" I said as I dropped my bag

"Where are you going?" He asked

"I will be back" I replied as I walked towards the bar, it was a very long walk though but I had to do it to confirm something.

I knew this huge place was Kian's favorite place so I decided to get some informations

As I walked towards the bar, I couldn't help but feel a sense of curiosity.

"Hi," I said, waving my hand at the barman. "What can I get you?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with friendly curiosity.

"I'll have a glass of wine, please," I replied, taking a seat at the bar. "And can I ask you something?"

"Of course, ma'am," he said, pouring me a glass of wine. "What would you like to know?"

“Can I ask you something please" I said, my eyes locked on his. "Do you know Kian? The man I walked in not long ago, I was the one you called on the phone”.

The barman's expression changed, and he said, "Yes, I know Mr. Kian. He's a regular here."

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued, and asked, "What do you mean?" The barman replied, "He comes here to relax, and he's a good man."

I encouraged him to continue, saying, "Feel free to share, I'm not here to harm him or anything." The barman then said.

"The last time he came here, he was with a lady, kinda chubby and light." He added.

From his description, I knew it was Mira. I listened intently, and the barman continued

"Nothing much really, the next thing I saw was that Mr. Kian was drunk, and Mira walked him inside, just like you did not long ago."

I felt shocked and didn't know what to say, so I simply thanked him and left.

As I walked away, I couldn't help but think about what the barman had just told me.

As I entered the room, I saw Kian lying down on the bed.

"You're back” he said, his voice low and husky.

I smiled and replied, "Yes, I am." I sat beside him, and his phone suddenly rang, breaking the silence. Mira's name popped up on the screen, and I felt a pang of unease.

Kian looked at me, his eyes searching for a reaction. I took a deep breath and said, "It's fine, you can pick it up."

But Kian shook his head and said, "No, I won't."

I raised an eyebrow and said, "Then I will." I picked up the phone, my heart racing with anticipation.

"Hello?" I said, my voice firm.

Mira's voice was on the other end.

"Hey, Kian, I was just calling to check in. How are you?"

I felt a surge of anger and said, "Mira, Kian is right here beside me. Why don't you talk to him yourself?"

There was a pause on the other end, and then Mira said, "Vivian?" Her voice was hesitant, and I could tell she was surprised to hear my voice on the other end of the line.

I smiled, knowing she could hear the amusement in my voice. "Yes, how are you doing, Mira? It's been days since we last spoke, and the only time we've crossed paths was when you gave me an invitation to your wedding," I said, my voice laced with anger.

Mira's tone changed, and she yelled across the phone, "Why are you with Kian?"

I chuckled "Hey, easy, Mira. He just got drunk, and I happened to help him in. You know how it is. You've been in similar situations before, right?" My voice was cold, and I could tell Mira was taken aback by my response.

"So what is your point?" Mira said, her voice firm.

I smiled, my eyes locked on hers. "Kian came here with you, right? And he got drunk. You happened to walk him inside and did what he didn't agree to, right?" I said, my voice laced with anger.

Mira's face went white, and she couldn't say a word. She looked like she had been caught off guard, and I could tell she was trying to process everything.

"You took advantage of him, Mira. You knew he was drunk, and you knew he couldn't consent. But you did it anyway. And now you're trying to play the victim?" I said, my anger boiling over.

Mira finally found her voice, and she said, "That Isnt true”.

"No, Mira, I understand perfectly. You used Kian for your own gain. And now you're trying to cover it up. But I'm not going to let you get away with it." I said, my eyes blazing with anger.
