Chapter 22

TREVOR’S POV.

“ The Luna moon feast is coming up in few days. We need to be prepared for the worst. I know the killings stopped but we need to brace ourselves for whatever big thing the witches have in stock.” I said to Trevor.

It was our work to keep the news away from the ears of the villagers so they won’t be a lot of panicking.

“ Okay Master. I will tell the warriors about it.” He responded and bowed slightly before walking away, towards Alyssa.

It has been almost two weeks now since I stopped training with her and….

“ Hi handsome.” I heard a very familiar voice say and I looked up to see Nadia.

“ What the hell are you doing here?.” I asked, my angry eyes on her.

“ That’s no way to greet your lover.” She responded in her sweet voice.

“ You shouldn’t be here.” I said then looked around to be no one was looking at us before pulling her to a corner free from sights.

“ Well you wouldn’t pick your calls so I had to come in person.” She replied with a smile on her face.

“ If I didn’t pick your calls then you could have waited for me at the bar or something.” I responded.

Maybe a part of me was glad she was here.

“ I did, Trevor. I tried. I did so for days but you never showed up.” She informed, sadness evident in her voice.

“ People might see us together.” I said

“ I don’t care what they think of say, Trevor. All I care about is you. Just you.” She said and leaned forward to breathe in my scent. “ I missed you. I missed the touch of your hands on my body. I missed the way you use your tongue on me. I missed you so much.” She added in a low sexy whisper.

" The last time was a mistake and that won't be repeating itself." I said to her and watched her smile get brighter.

" You know that's a lie right?." She questioned. " You know she can never male you as happy as I did." She added.

" Leave, Nadia and don't show up anywhere around me until I ask you to." I ordered.

" I will be waiting for you." She responded in a low whisper and leaned in to steal a kiss from me, grabbing my balls as she did.

I had let her leave first before stepping out to go back to the filed. I packed up my bag and proceeded to leave since I had something urgent to attend to later so I had to freshen up first.

I felt the image walking behind me, following my every move but I said nothing as I kept my cool.

From my side view, I caught a glimpse of her and smiled then looked forward to pretend like I didn't.

ALYSSA'S POV.

I watched him as he did everything, setting up his training tool and all. It has been a while since we last spoke and I was starting to think there was something more to it. My eyes were on him for awhile since Nolan was yet to show up so I can train with him.

Soon Nolan showed up on the field and Trevor beckoned on him to come. They whispered some words to one another then I watched him bow and leave, walking over to me.

“ Hi Alyssa.” He greeted and I sent him an heartwarming smile. Nolan was like my best friend now since he was the only one I ever really spoke to.

“ Hi Nolan. You look different today.” I said on noticing the glow and spark he had in his eyes.

“ For real?. What spark?.” He asked as he did a 360 degree turn then stopped to place his right hand on his waist.

“ I don’t know what it is but it’s there.” I responded and watched him let out a loud laugh.

“ Well something did happen, Alyssa.” He confessed and I squirt my eyes out of curiosity to look at him well.

“ Wanna share?.” I asked.

“ Of course.” He responded. “ So you remember the other day, Julia met us at the table. She called me a night after…..

His words drifted far away as my eyes landed on a slender figure walking towards Trevor. She stopped right in front to whisper some things to him and he turned his head around to look sideways.

I caught a glimpse of her face and immediately knew she was that she-wolf. The one he had cheated on me with. The one I had caught him with.

I watched him grab her by the arm and pulled her aside, away from where I could see. I felt the crazy urge to follow them and find out what is going on with them but I had to stay there and pretend to listen to Nolan's story of how he met with Julia. I knew leaving would raise suspicion and I had no idea of how a scandal would look on Trevor.

He finally stepped back into view but he was alone. She had left and it only made me wonder why he had sent her away.

Were they to meet later today?.

I thought.

" You listening?." Nolan asked and it jotted back to reality.

" Ummm. Yea. I guess." I responded, my eyes still on Trevor as I watched him getting ready to leave.

" You don't seem like it. I was just asking you a question but you didn't seem ti be here." He said.

Trevor picked up his bag and headed off the training field.

I quickly stood up and tapped Nolan on the shoulder.

" I'm sorry. I will be right back." I said and walked away, increasing my lace to meet up with him. However this was a conversation I wasn't ready to have with him in the open.

I followed him till we got home, putting some distance between us do that he wouldn't know of it.

" You could have told me you wanted to be a spy." I heard him say as he stood in front of the gate, his back facing me.

So how did he find out?.

" Hi Trevor." I greeted.

Which he ignored and continued to walk into the mansion. He pushed the door open and stepped it. He waited till thr door closed behind me before he spoke.

" Can I know why you decided to follow me?." He asked angrily.

" I...Ummm...I..." I was saying when he cut me short.

" You should go take a bath while I do same. We will take during lunch." He said and stormed up before I could reply.

I barely had a proper bath as I spent most time replaying the scene in my head over and over again. I had a whole lot of questions to ask. A whole lot.

I changed into something comfortable and stepped out of my room, heading towards the dinning hall.

He wasn’t there by the time I would arrive so I sat there and silently hoped he would keep to his own side of the promise and show up.

“ Have some fruits added to it.” I heard him usher out an order to one of the maids as he walked in.

He settled down into his own side of the table without saying a word and signaled the maids to dish out the meal. Which they did then bowed as they stepped away.

I started to scoop up the food and shove them into my mouth, avoiding his eyes and hoping not to throw up since I didn’t have much of a appetite.

All I wanted was to talk. Let my mind out and here he was acting like nothing ever happened.

“ Are you cheating on me?.” I summoned courage and asked and watched his hand hang midway as he raised his eyes from the meal to look at me.

“ What kind of question is that?.” He asked.

“ I saw her. The she-wolf you fucked the last time.” I continued while playing with my food. “ Are you cheating on me with her again?.” I asked, my heart aching as I said some words and I silently hoped he would prove me wrong.

“ You didn’t tell me I had to report my every activities to you.” He responded and shoved his meal into his mouth.

The calmness he had on annoyed me deeply.

“ Answer my question, Trevor!.” I yelled. “ I saw you. I say everything that happened. You didn’t think I would follow you right. You didn’t think I would want to know why you had grabbed her by the arm and pulled her away from prying eyes, away from my sight. I saw everything….every single thing that happened.” I lied. I wanted him to believe I had been back there with them so that he would say something, slip or anything.

“ Saw what?.” He asked.

“ The exact thing you did. I just never thought you would do this to me. I…..I never believed you would.” I continued, putting on an act.

I watched him run his fingers through his hair and dragged a ragged breathe.

“ It was just once and I’m sorry. I didn’t ask her to show up. She just….I’m sorry.” He confessed, avoiding my eyes.

I scoffed.

“ Once!.” I exclaimed. “ Am I supposed to believe you, Trevor?. Huh!.” I yelled.

“ I’m sorry, Alyssa. I…..I didn’t mean for it to happen. It’s just…..” He said soberly.

“ You said so the last time, Trevor. I must have been a fool to believe you. Believe that you would change. You will always be the same, Trevor you can never change.” I yelled, tears welling in my eyes. I had expected so much from him.

Why was the moon goddess doing this to me? Was she testing me by giving me a mate that would pick someone else over me?.

“ It was never my wish, Alyssa. I’m sorry. I….” He was saying then paused to roughen his hair with his fingers.

I scoffed and ran my eyes over him. It hurts to imagine his fingers on her, his lips on her or on her body. The look he must have had in his eyes while he made love to her. The words he must have whispered into her ear. The thoughts of it gutted me.

“ I’m done, Trevor. I can’t do this.” I said in a shaggy breathe.

“ I’m sorry Alyssa. I….” He paused again.

“ I don’t want about this right now, Trevor. I can’t…I can’t have this conversation yet. I…” I stammered and got up on my feet. “ The Luna moon feast is coming up. The people need their Alpha and Luna so I will pretend that everything is fine till then. After that we can have this conversation again.” I said and walked away.

“ Alyssa!.” I heard him call after me but I ignored.

I increased my pace as I noticed him running after me and quickly ran into my room, slamming my door in his face.

“ Alyssa!.” He called out and that was the last I heard before anything went silent.
