Chapter 45 Warning
Ryder's POV
It was fair that she was trying to hurt me back...
Right?
I deserved it anyway.
But going to meet Chase for help?
That wasn't what I expected of her.
She was only to involve herself deeper than she wanted.
So I had been thinking, calculating and prying.
Chase had to go.
But how?
He was Achiever's Star player and the school wouldn't want to lose him.
But not to worry, I'm here to assume my position.
"This whole shit is just annoying." Peter slammed his book on the counter, jerking me out of my thought.
"Uriel, Uriel, Uriel, right?" Mason groaned. "Poor girl. She has dropped so much weight."
I scoffed, throwing my gaze elsewhere.
She never was weighty.
She was infact almost too petite. Almost.
Which was fine to me, as long as she was looking happy.
I was sure everyone found her petite nature attractive, hence why the news outbreak of Chase's deceptive stories was moving way more mountains.
My face turned into a hard frown.
"Why are you laughing?" Peter's voice was hard.
"She only looks tired and pale." That, I didn't like.
Were her parents even paying attention to her?
"Still. Someone has to put Chase in his place. The guy irritates me. Who knows who'll be next. I swear, if I ever see him get close to Chloe, I'm serving term in jail." Peter spoke honestly
"Chloe huh?" Mason teased. "Saw you guys hitting it cool at the party. Your hands wrapped around her."
"We were drunk." Peter's voice was monotone. "And you don't see me pointing out how you and Kathie almost hit it in public."
"I don't want to have this conversation. It's boring." Mason said, looking away.
"Isn't it now?" Peter scoffed. "So... What's going on with you and -"
My phone pinged loud, gaining my attention. I had been waiting for that notification.
"Excuse me." I told the boys.
"Where are you going?" They both yelled.
"To sort something." I yelled back, walking away.
This was more important to me.
I needed to also let off the steam inside of me. It was a volcano inside of me.
"Hey there." Bia smiled small at me, her eyes not meeting mine.
Yeah.
It was no news that she had a crush on me.
I even heard how I was forbidden because Emma, their leader, liked me.
Emma liked anyone with power and fame.
"Let's go." I held her arm, leading her inside one of our empty classes.
Her face was all sweaty, her make up breaking. Her lip stick was slightly smudged, her hair a light mess.
I smirked small, looking down.
"Had a nice time getting it, didn't you?" I taunted.
"I...you... I don't know what you mean." She stuttered. Her fingers trembled as she brought it out of her bag. "He always has an extra in his bag too."
I took the bottle, inspecting it. "Right. Of course he does."
"You can't tell anyone I helped you, Ryder." For the first time today, she looked into my eyes briefly.
"You have my words." I told her. "I hope you'll find closure with yourself too, after this."
"I just want him to rot in jail for messing with me like that." Bia frowned.
When she came to meet me, offering to help me since she couldn't meet Uriel, she downloaded everything to me.
Everything.
My phone rang. I answered, placing it on my ear, "Ryder."
"Carson Math." The familiar voice spoke.
"What's your response?" I swallowed hard, my hand gripping the bottle tight.
"I'll take it, man. I've sent you all you need. I don't mind the consequences." He sighed
"You made the right decision." Sighing, I brought the phone down from my ear.
"You must really like her, don't you?" Bia said softly. I froze, staying in the same position for a minute.
"I... I don't know what you're talking about, Bia. Don't insinuate things." I said, holding the door open. "We can never be seen together again."
"Sure thing." She smiled up at me. Then her eyes snapped to a direction and it grew wide open.
I followed her eyes, sucking in a short breath. Uriel looked between us, her eyes empty.
"Don't worry. She won't say anything to anyone." I told Bia, pushing her lightly by her shoulder to go.
Uriel entered into the cafeteria, shutting the door behind her. I watched as everyone stopped what they were doing, looking at her.
I followed suit, glaring at them as I resumed my seat.
"Almost started choosing names for the kids." Peter raised his eyebrow at me.
"What did you go to do? You've been a lot more secretive than usual. Are we even close friends?" Mason folded his arms.
"We are." I said firmly. "Just observe."
The speaker in the cafeteria buzzed, trying to connect to the speaker. Everyone's attention snapped to it, waiting to here the information.
It was either about academic deadlines reminder or the activities enrollment program.
"You want admission, don't you?" He snorted, then continued "No one's going to believe that I didn't fuck you. No one's going to believe that I tried to but failed."
Everyone gasped, looking at the very one person with similar voice.
Chase Monroe.
He stood up, "Turn off that shit!"
"You tried to molest me. That was attempted rape!" Uriel's voice echoed.
My hand balled into a fist. My eyes settled on hers - she was already looking at me. Her eyes softened.
"You can call it that or whatever but the truth is, no one's going to believe you."
"I'm being framed! That is AI. You need to prove this. I'm getting my lawyer." Chase yelled, walking up to Uriel.
Two hands held me back to my seat as I tried to charge up.
"So, this wasn't you then?" Peter asked lowly.
"Chase Monroe, come with us please." The principal bursted in, his voice a bit strained.
"I swear, I didn't say that shit. Everything Uriel and I did was consensual!" Chase argued. "I'm pretty sure Ryder helped her do this."
Oh no, he did not just include me.
"No, no, no." They held me back again. My eyes blazed with fury.
"Get over here and bring your fucking bag, Monroe." Coach yelled, marching up to him.
He pulled his bag from him, fighting with the zip.
"It's private." Chase tried to snatch the bag.
"And this?" Coach raised the pill bottle in the air. "Can you explain why there's hard drugs in your bag?"
"I'm not - I didn't put it there. I don't know what that is!" Chase argued. "I'm being framed, believe me."
"We knew you'd say that, so we're going to do a quick drug test." The principal said, nodding at someone by the door.
Group of health specialists walked in with their equipments.
"Wait! I can't do that without my parents authorization." Chase shook his head
"They swore you were innocent and gave us a go-ahead." Coach scoffed, leaving way.
"Okay fine! It was just... I just - it helped me okay? It helped me to stay in the game. That was it."
Loud gasp erupted in the air.
"It is against the rules, Monroe! How long?" Coach growled.
"Since...since Ryder." He frowned at me. "But I'm a fucking star. I merited it with my skill and -"
" Hello! I'm Carson Math. I was once a player for Zerith High School. This is hard for me to do but I can't go down alone."
On the large screen in the Cafeteria was Carson Math, streaming live.
"Chase is the reason we fail at every game. Before every game, he attends our parties and sedate our drinks - top players especially. Then he offers to suck our cocks for the fun of it." The boy paused.
I relaxed back, pushing my friends hands off me. A content smile played on my lips as I watched everything unfold.
"Sorry." He sniffled. "So, under intoxication, he either scraffs us or make us scraff him through the anus and makes a blackmail video which are all on his phone."
"Please help us. We're much but only I have the courage to speak because it's killing me."
And the TV screen went blank again.
"What the fuck?" Peter yelled from beside me, alongside few other persons.
Uriel's eyes widened in shock, a content smile on her lips too.
"And we'll take this." Principal said, snatching the phone. "Call your lawyer because Carson's parents are pressing charges."
"No! Do you know who I am?" Chase yelled, struggling with the police officers that led him out of the door.
"Forget about your NBA scholarship, buffoon!" Coach raked. "I hope y'all learn from this dipshit!"
"This was fun." I said, standing up.
"How did you - you're good, man." Mason pointed, stretching his hand.
"Everyone deserves justice." I shrugged, shaking Mason and Peter.
Then my eyes turned to meet Uriel's dark blue eyes. They were glossy. Her friends wrapped their arms around her, hugging her tight and squealing in joy.
So, she did the first one then.
"I need to smoke." I announced to my friends. They nodded, letting me go.
As I strolled outside, I heard someone call my name. It was a strange voice.
"I know you did this, Ryder. It means you care a lot about Uriel." I frowned at Lance as he spoke. The blonde fucker. "And I care about her too."
"Good for you." I tried to leave but he held my arm. Glaring at him, I shoved his hands off me.
"Stay away from Uriel, Ryder. I saw her first." He warned.
An amused smile appeared on my lips as I stared at him. "You like Uriel?"
"This is a warning."
Okayyy??
