Chapter 23 Caught snooping
Uriel's POV
"It's urgent, please come!"
As much as these words would piss someone who was asked to come to work on their non-working day...
I was glad.
I wasn't sure I was going to make it throughout the weekend because overthinking would've killed me
Yes, Ms. Karina didn't make much of a deal of Ryder and I's situation but I wasn't sure of my status.
Her dismissal that day...
God it was so terrible.
My heart bled as I went back home.
I swear, I had to avoid Ryder.
The boy was really after my downfall but my God is bigger than him.
Anyway, I replied her message ASAP and rushed down there. My mother didn't even bat an eyelash to know where I was going, as long as I gave her a percentage of what I was getting.
None of which she appreciated anyway.
Instead she'd say, if Emma was working, she'd get more.
Or
I know this is not all but I'll let it slide because I know where to get back at you. I always do.
Yeah, right.
"I'm sorry Ryder is being difficult. He's actually a sweet brother to me. Always been." Desire said, sneezing lightly afterwards.
"Drink up. Drink up." I encouraged, rubbing her back lightly.
She had caught a cold and her mother had something very urgent outside the state to handle and wouldn't be back until tomorrow.
Ryder... was nowhere to be found.
He left without much explanation.
"Though, you're the only person Ryder has talked about so far. He normally complains about how annoying you are until you came over and I got to see you." Desire gave me a sly smile.
I raised my eyebrow at her.
Was I supposed to feel special?
"Maybe he likes you?" Her lips lifted up in a smile.
"Pfft!" I scoffed in sheer disbelief. "He'd die before he develops feelings for me. Your brother just has a ego problem."
"The ones in love don't always see it." Desire said in a sing song tone, wrapping her hand around herself.
"Are you okay?" I asked, concern laced in my voice.
"Nahh. I would need something from the forbidden room." She said carefully, shrugging lightly.
"No."
"I'm so tired. I can barely walk. I feel so cold too, I might die!" She whined, pouting.
God, she was so cute.
"That's unfair."
"I just need one of Ryder's sweater. Don't worry, he usually lends me that one." She said, shivering lightly.
Sighing, I stood up.
"Where will I find it then?"
"On his couch. It's Red and big." She explained. "Thank youuuu."
This was a bad idea.
If Ryder found me in his room... I'd be dead.
It wasn't even a joke.
Or you'll just quickly collect it and leave.
That sounded like a nice plan.
That delayedddd.
I held his room open, walking in slowly. My eyes widened at his aesthetic.
It was dark and mysterious.
His room wasn't like the regular messy boys room.
It was neatly arranged and scented so much like him.
Something caught my eye at corner of his room. It was a glass box... but I couldn't see what was inside.
"Ouuu. Hi there!" I held the glass, smiling down at the gold fish. I looked down to where it's food laid, then I chucked a bit with my hand and sprinkled.
I only saw these in television shows.
Not real life.
Sweater, Uriel
Oh shit.
I turned around, looking for the couch. Once I spotted it, I picked it up amidst other folded things that laid there.
Then I turned to leave only to freeze on spot as my eyes landed on the icy cold ones. His jaw ticked, his eyes piercing.
I swallowed hard, my fingers tightening around the sweater.
"What are you doing here?" Before I could answer, he took a step forward, throwing in another question, "I thought I told you not to fucking enter my room?"
My chest heaved up and down. My foot moved backward on their own accord.
"How dare you touch my things?" He snatched the sweater from my hand, frowning slightly.
"I... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. Desire said she needed it and directed me to come into your room to - I'm sorry." My voice was literally shaking.
Gosh.
He stared into my eyes for a while, his eyes growing soft. He sighed heavily, handing me the sweater back.
Oh thank God.
I tried to walk away but was suddenly yanked back and slightly pulled against the wall.
What now?
"Who said you could leave yet?" His face was plain blank.
My eyelashes fluttered.
"Huh?"
"Your apology. You can do more than saying sorry." He raised my chin up, his eyes boring into mine.
"H..how?"
His lips lifted up into a cocky smirk, "By showing action."
My face squeezed into a small frown, then a scoff followed suit. "You mean by getting down on my knees?"
"Sounds better coming from you." He brushed his thumb on my lips, startling me a bit. My heart picked up it's pace, bit by bit.
Help me guys.
His eyes flickered between my eyes and my lips, "sure I want you to get on your knees, Kinky, and use your pretty mouth...but not to apologize." He pushed his thumb forward, parting my lips open.
As he was about to slip it in, the doorbell rang from downstairs.
Frightened, I jerked up.
"I... I'll go get the door." I held the sweater to my chest, scurrying out.
I was going to let him slip his finger in my mouth!
Like why?
Why didn't I push him away?
Why did I want to see how far he could go?
Oh God!
"You'll hear from me." I tossed the sweater on Desire who was grinning sheepishly.
"Sorry" she mewled out.
I pulled the door open by the knob, my eyes connecting with two pairs of familiar eyes.
Now this was going to be awkward.
"Hello."
"Uriel? What the ..." Mason peeped inside, raising his eyebrow at me.
"Who would've thought!" Peter chimed in, giving me a look that showed he was in disbelief.
Of course, they were thinking...
"You guys are a thing? Since when?"
Jerking back, my face contorted in irritation, I opened my mouth to debunk, "we..."
"Since no time." Ryder cut me off, pulling the door out of my grip.
"Doesn't look so to me." Mason smirked.
Ryder scoffed, turning to look at me, his eyes hard. "She's a nerd. You know, I don't do nerds."
I glowered at him, offended.
"They're boring and prudish." He eyed me up and down, slamming the door in my face as he left with his friends.
That's it.
I was going to make him eat up his own words.
