Suppressing turbulent emotions, she slowly lifted her head. The buttons of his white shirt now hung completely open.
Moving upward, she met Geoffrey’s dark, fathomless eyes.
Geoffrey’s throat tightened.
His large hand seized her wrist, pressing her palm against his body: “Feel this. Familiar?”
Her fingers touched his firm abdomen, palms burning.
She feigned calm.
“Still can’t remember.”
Her trembling hand wandered aimlessly.
Every muscle in Geoffrey’s body locked, yet he sensed her underlying fear.
Pretending to be experienced while trembling with tension.
Geoffrey’s lips curled into a slight smile as he scooped Maureen up, pinning her against the wall and claiming her mouth in a kiss.
Right then.
The banquet had already begun.

Heather hadn’t seen Geoffrey arrive. Hearing from the driver that he’d returned to his room,
she went looking for him.
Before the banquet, she’d met several impressive daughters from High Society families.
Remembering Jacob she’d seen earlier made her more anxious to push her son into starting a family.
Approaching Geoffrey’s room, she found the door slightly ajar.
Pushing it open slowly, she froze at the sight of Geoffrey and Maureen locked in embrace.
Heather instantly averted her gaze.
Though disliking Maureen, thoughts of her longed–for grandson made her hesitate briefly before retreating.
Inside the room.
Maureen grew dizzy and disoriented from the kiss.
Strangely, Geoffrey only kissed her–no matter what she tried, he refused to proceed further.
Brows furrowed, she gritted her teeth and boldly reached for him.
Geoffrey’s throat moved twice before he suddenly stopped, seizing her wrist with inscrutable intensity:
“Are you trying to regain your memories… or do you want me?”

His voice was deep and raspy.
Only he knew how agonizing it had been to hold back.
But he couldn’t just give in to Maureen. He needed to know what she was really after.
Maureen froze, her eyes glistening. “Don’t tell me you don’t want to?”
Geoffrey was certain she had an ulterior motive and abruptly changed
his tone.
“Did you misunderstand something?
I was just helping jog your memory.”
“Let’s call it a day. Time for the banquet.”
Maureen’s expression darkened.
So all those six or seven minutes they’d been kissing, he’d just been toying with her?
She didn’t let it show, quietly withdrawing her hand from his body.
Geoffrey headed to the dressing room first to change, then accompanied her to the banquet.
At the 70th Birthday Bash, Sean and Albert had also arrived.
Like other elders, Grandpa Albert wanted to seize this rare opportunity to find Sean a wife.

Sean had been dragged here. After wishing Nicholas well, Grandpa Albert forced him to stay and meet at least twenty young ladies.
“Listen here,” Grandpa Albert snapped. “If you disobey me today, get out of the Robson family.
I don’t need a good–for–nothing grandson like you.”
“Still can’t find a wife? You disgrace the family.”
Sean couldn’t help but feel exasperated.
He’s never short of women around him, okay?
“I know.”
It’s not that he dares not defy Grandfather Robson. It’s mainly because the old man has heart problems.
The doctor said he mustn’t get agitated–it could trigger a heart attack.
Grandfather Robson spotted Andrea arriving all dolled up, disgust flashing in his eyes.
He reminded his grandson: “Remember–that Andrea isn’t worth it!”
Grandfather Robson had a sharp eye for people.
Years ago, he’d investigated Andrea–a snake who’d bite the hand that fed her. She was no good now either, just someone sleeping around.
“Don’t worry.”
Ever since Sean learned Maureen was his lifesaver, he hadn’t kept a

shred of fondness for Andrea.
The only thing Grandfather Robson approved of was that Sean finally stopped being obsessed with that woman.
The 70th Birthday Bash was packed, Willie and Jacob swallowed by the crowd.
Jacob’s bright eyes instantly darkened when they landed on Andrea.
Willie followed his gaze and immediately explained: “That’s Andrea. My uncle’s rumored girlfriend.”
“Why did she come alone? Where’s your uncle?”
Jacob asked.
Willie found it strange too.
His uncle never showed up late to events like this.
“Don’t know.”
He shook his head.
Willie finished speaking and anxiously asked Jacob: “What exactly do I need to do for you to believe I’m the future head of the Sutton Family?”
“I’ve already had someone drive you around the entire Sutton Family
estate.”
Jacob could only coax him.

“I believe you.”
Willie was affirmed, but not happy at all, not knowing why he felt like he was being coaxed like a child by a child.
“My stomach hurts, I need to go to the bathroom, I’ll talk to you later.”
Jacob decided to ditch Willie so he could go punish Andrea for plagiarizing his mommy’s work and stealing his bad dad.
“Then remember to find me after you finish in the bathroom.”
Willie, watching his back, hurriedly said.
