With barely over two weeks until Christmas,
Katherine counted mentally, anxiety rising. “What about after the holidays? It’s freezing now.”
“No.”
Sean refused flatly before turning to the little boy indoors. “Hey brat, wanna tag along?”
Jacob’s dark eyes filled with disdain. “No.”
Despite being told repeatedly this wasn’t his child, the doctor kept claiming him.
Sean felt strangely defeated under that scornful gaze.
Rubbing his nose, he wondered: Is this kid really my own flesh and blood?
Why do I feel this innate sense of fear around him?
The only person he’d ever felt this way about was Geoffrey.
Too lazy to overthink it, he urged Katherine: “No need to change clothes, let’s go.”
Katherine had to remind Jacob: “Roy, call me if anything comes up.”
“Okay.”
Jacob watched them leave. The moment they were gone, he immediately sat at the computer and started digging up dirt on Noelle.
Strangely, despite her age, Noelle had surprisingly little scandalous information online.
Jacob searched for a long time but only found minor issues.
“Dear great–grandson, what are you doing?
Time to get ready for school.”
Grandpa Albert had quietly come upstairs, speaking softly.
Jacob instantly shut down the computer and turned to him: “Alright.”

Previously, ordinary cars had picked Jacob up for kindergarten. Now, as the Robson family’s great–grandson, the motorcade taking him to school stretched longer than a wedding procession.
Even Willie had never had such grandeur.
After all, Willie wasn’t Geoffrey’s son, while Jacob was now Sean’s son–the future heir of the Robsons. Their statuses were naturally different.
Willie stood outside too, staring at the luxurious motorcade in disbelief.
At by League Academy, who could possibly be richer or more powerful than him?
When the bodyguard opened the car door and Jacob stepped out, Willie froze in shock. The other kids gasped.
They’d never seen Jacob’s dad before. Was this his father?
“How much did Jacob pay for this motorcade?”
Willie asked arrogantly, refusing to believe it.
Richard yawned beside him: “You didn’t know? Jacob’s moving to the Robson family with my aunt to become Albert’s direct great–grandson.”
Actually, Jacob had told Albert he wasn’t his great–grandson.
But Albert, like Sean, had some screws loose and insisted he was a Robson. He even planned to legally change Jacob’s name soon.
Albert wanted to announce their relationship to the world through press releases.
Jacob barely managed to stop the old man from going public.
He hated deceiving the kind–hearted elder, hoping to explain later. If needed, he’d request another paternity test.
So only the White family and close friends of both families knew Jacob was Albert’s great- grandson.
“The Robsons‘ direct great–grandson?”
Willie couldn’t believe it.
During class, he couldn’t help whispering to Jacob.
“Jacob, is Great–grandpa Albert really your great–grandfather?”

Willie had often been taken by Nicholas to show off at the Robson residence, so he knew Albert.
“Didn’t I tag along when the Sutton family held the Engagement Party last time?
You forgot?”
Jacob didn’t answer but countered with a question.
Willie thought for a moment before recalling that when Uncle Alex and Elizabeth held their engagement party, Jacob had indeed attended, standing right beside Great–grandpa Albert.
“You’re awful for not telling me.”
Willie felt utterly embarrassed. The Robson family was just as influential as the Suttons.
Yet he’d been bragging to Jacob all this time–how humiliating.
“Aren’t we friends anymore?”
Jacob watched Willie’s innocent expression, wondering if he’d still want friendship if he knew Jacob was actually the Sutton family’s firstborn great–grandson.
“Pay attention to the lesson.”
Jacob avoided answering, turning toward the blackboard.
Willie felt even more wronged.
Hmph, ignore me then? I’ll ignore you too.
As long as neither uncle has kids, I’ll remain the Sutton family’s treasure–a hundred times better
than the Robsons.

“How did that little thing get insider information?”
Raymond wondered.
Noelle shook her head: “Who knows? Maybe some adult taught her.”
“That kid feels familiar, like I’ve seen her somewhere before.”
Noelle added.
Raymond grew irritated hearing her mention familiarity.

“I think she despises you, targets you deliberately. I’m heading to the office. Go home alone.”
With that, he arranged a ride for Noelle.
Reflecting on the day’s events and Raymond’s words, Noelle realized he was right.
The child had looked at her with unmistakable hatred.
Finally home, she collapsed wearily onto the sofa.
“Mom, how did your talk with Maureen go yesterday?”
Elizabeth walked downstairs pale–faced, fresh from hospital discharge.
Noelle hesitated to answer. Elizabeth noticed instantly, tossing a file over without hesitation.
“See for yourself. Your precious daughter.”
Noelle picked up the document in confusion, opened it, and found it was a lawyer’s letter.
The letter stated that Juan had made a will before his death, leaving all his property to Maureen.
