Her grandpa, head of the Ramirez family, was the richest in Karaville.
But now, she was abandoned by everyone.
This thought put a smile on Andrea’s face.
“I guess you don’t know who sent me.
“Geoff’s mom says money isn’t a problem as long as you sign the divorce agreement.
“She’ll consider it a charity case.”
A charity case…
Maureen remembered how Heather had flattered her to convince her to marry Geoffrey.
She had said only a Ramirez girl deserved Geoffrey. She had even promised she’d see Maureen as her own daughter.
All of a sudden, Maureen was fed up. She stood up and declared, “If you wanna talk about the divorce, show me the money first.”
It didn’t take a scientist to know Heather wouldn’t pay.
When Maureen left, Andrea warned behind her, “You’ll regret it.”
That night, Maureen was woken up by a phone call.
As soon as she answered, Geoffrey snapped in a deep and cold voice, “I overestimated you, after all. How much do you want?
“You were gone for days, and this is the idea you came up with?”
Only then did it occur to Maureen what Andrea’s warning meant. She was threatening to tell Geoffrey about it.
Before Maureen could respond, Geoffrey continued, “Divorce or no divorce, it’s between you and me. Why did you hit Andrea? She’s still in the hospital.”
Maureen was confused for a moment before she figured out what was happening.
To frame her, Andrea had stooped to a new low. What was worse, Geoffrey believed her.
“Believe it or not, I only talked to her. I didn’t touch her.”
Maureen hung up.
At the hospital.

Geoffrey pulled a long face.
Andrea was lying in bed, her forehead wrapped with gauze.
After talking with Maureen, she deliberately injured her head to frame Maureen.
“All I wanted was a nice talk with her. Unexpectedly, she…”
Andrea stopped midsentence and handed Geoffrey some photos.
After she learned about Maureen’s pregnancy, she had these photos snapped.
“I don’t wanna keep her secret anymore. Geoffrey, don’t get mad about these photos.”
Geoffrey took the photos. The look in his eyes intensified when he saw what they were about.
They were all photos of Maureen and Gareth.
The two of them looked intimate in each photo. Geoffrey tried hard to hold back his anger.

At this point, Andrea sat up. “Luckily, I found these photos and bought them. If they circulate, the consequence will be unthinkable.”
Geoffrey was vexed.
After leaving the hospital, he got into the understated matte black Cadillac and asked Wayne to pay Andrea for the photos.
Then, he added, “Locate Maureen.”
“Yes.”
Wayne put someone on it immediately.

Maureen had bad dreams all night.
In her dream, Geoffrey married Andrea, and they lived happily ever after.
She also dreamed of the past.
The angry Geoffrey left her alone and went on a business trip.
She couldn’t find him anywhere.
In another dream, Geoffrey was regretful. He apologized and wanted to start over with her.
Maureen accepted his apology without hesitation.
However, before long, he abandoned her and disappeared again.
When Maureen woke up, she touched her eyes. They were still tear–stained.

It was said that dreams were what was on people’s minds. But Maureen had never expected Geoffrey to regret it, much less think about forgiving him.
The downpour continued.
Maureen got up and freshened up. She couldn’t wait any longer and decided to call Geoffrey so they could get di- vorced today.
Just then, someone knocked at the door.
Thinking that it was Gareth, she went to open the door.
Outside was Wayne, who wore a suit and a pair of gold–rimmed glasses.
As Geoffrey’s PA, certainly, he was competent. Locating Maureen was a piece of cake.
“Wayne, what brings you here?” Maureen asked.
Wayne looked inside. No man could be seen.
So, he said cordially and indifferently, “Ms. Ramirez, Mr. Sutton wants you to go home.”
