Chapter 181
The next morning, Maureen rose from bed to the sound of running water in the bathroom.
She put on her everyday clothes, freshened up, and waited downstairs with her small bag.
Soon Geoffrey emerged in casual wear, looking noticeably gentler.
As they stepped outside, the biting cold greeted them, a faint drizzle drifting down.
On their way to Springwood, Geoffrey’s phone rang–Andrea was calling.
Maureen noticed him decline the call.
Yet moments later, a text appeared: “Geoffrey, please answer. Something’s happened.”
Maureen planned to reveal Andrea’s true colors at the opening ceremony, not now.
She hadn’t expected Andrea to reach out to Geoffrey so desperately.
“Go ahead. It must be urgent,” Maureen said, her voice considerate.
When the phone rang again, Geoffrey answered it.
After an unclear conversation, he hung up and told Maureen, “There’s an issue at the Film Premiere. I’ll head over and be back at Springwood soon.”
What problem requires a CEO’s personal attention?
Maureen thought sarcastically–it was simply because Andrea was involved.
She replied with unusual ease: “Alright. Ethan and I will wait at Springwood.”
Not this time.
Her eyes curved like crescent moons, starlight shimmering in their depths–utterly captivating.
Geoffrey suddenly pulled her into an embrace.
Leaning against his shoulder, she realized this farewell would be permanent. Resentment toward his past indifference began to fade.

“Maureen…” Geoffrey started, but swallowed his words.
Unbothered, she tilted her head skyward. Raindrops mixed with snowflakes drifted down.
“Geoffrey, it’s snowing.”
A snowflake landed on his shoulder, melting instantly into a droplet.
He released her, draping his coat over her shoulders. “See you later.”
“Mhm.”
He then boarded another car bound for the Film Premiere.
After he left, Maureen departed for Springwood.
Because Geoffrey had given permission, no one stopped them at the entrance.
The Film Premiere was at the Film Studio.
On the way, Geoffrey looked at Maureen’s profile picture and typed, “Wait for me to come back, and we’ll hold our wedding again.”
After typing, he was about to send it but felt it wasn’t appropriate.
He edited it over and over until it became just, “Wait for me.”
For some reason, he felt uneasy today.
Earlier, Andrea had said that the crazy fan from the Film Premiere was back, hiding and sending her threatening messages, saying he would kill her.
Andrea just wanted an excuse to get Geoffrey to come. She never expected Frank to actually be at the venue, using Maureen’s invitation.
In the luxury car, the bodyguard arranged by Gareth was sitting right next to Frank.
Frank clenched his fists tightly, watching Andrea being interviewed by the media. At this highlight moment, his eyes were bloodshot: “She’s living the high life now, with all the money and fame she could want!”
“But because of her, I lost my home and everything!”
The bodyguard beside him said, “That’s why our boss is giving you this chance. It’s up to you
to make the most of it.”

“I think you know better than anyone how to make Andrea and Geoffrey lose face together!”
Gareth wasn’t just after ruining Andrea’s reputation.
He also wanted to make Geoffrey a laughingstock to the whole world.
Right now, Gareth and his friend Lawrence were drinking in a tall building nearby, ready to watch the show.
Lawrence thought he was truly insane, offending Geoffrey for a woman.
“Man, this way we won’t survive in the country.”
Gareth looked at him: “Is it
easy now?”
Lawrence couldn’t help but smile.
Yeah, Geoffrey had nearly blocked every path for Gareth.
Luckily, Geoffrey didn’t know he was in cahoots with Gareth, or his own path would be gone
too.
“I can’t wait to see Geoffrey get humiliated, but this Andrea, she’s so annoying.”
Unlike other men, Lawrence owned a film group and despised starlets who climbed the ladder opportunistically.
At ten, the Film Premiere finally began.
The event drew crowds, with media swarming to report live.
Fans and spectators poured in.
When Geoffrey arrived, he caused a media frenzy.
The moment Andrea spotted him, she told the director and rushed to his side.
Media jumped at shadows, frantically training cameras on him.
“Geoffrey, he might be hiding nearby right now. I’m terrified.”
Andrea trembled slightly, adding: “I saw news where a star got hurt at a Film Premiere.
“It was okay when he was alone. Today in the dressing room, I saw someone following him, probably Gareth’s bodyguard from last time…”

Andrea would never have guessed her random comment hit the mark.
“On my way here, I had everyone present investigated.”
Geoffrey replied.
After speaking, he shot an irritated glare at the reporters aiming cameras at him.
“If you want to keep your jobs, get lost!”
Reporters hastily turned their lenses away.
But they couldn’t stop some from secretly live–streaming the scene.
