Chapter 113
Maureen added, “I know Geoffrey doesn’t love me. Staying with him won’t get me money either.”
“How much do you want?”
Andrea asked.
“Ten billion.”
Andrea stared in disbelief, “Reenie, you weren’t like this before.”
She used to be so principled–how could she measure Geoffrey by money now?
Maureen fired back, “Isn’t the position of Geoffrey’s wife worth ten billion?”
Andrea laughed.
“You’ve truly changed.
I remember in college, you swore you’d never steal a man from me.
Yet not only did you steal him, now you demand ten billion to give him back.”
Andrea mastered the art of twisting blame.
Maureen’s eyes glinted with icy scorn, “Everyone knows I didn’t steal Geoffrey. He dumped you–orphan.”
Andrea’s beautiful face contorted.
“Enough!
You only want the money?”
Maureen nodded, then added, “Don’t tell Geoffrey about our deal. If you do, it’s void.”
“I’ll haunt Geoffrey forever. You’ll never be his lawful Mrs. Sutton.”
Maureen said this deliberately.
She wanted Andrea to snitch to Geoffrey.
If Andrea did, Maureen had countermeasures.
If Andrea actually raised ten billion, Maureen would gladly take it.
Still, Maureen felt certain Andrea would tattle.

This was her usual trick. Whenever something went wrong, Andrea would make Maureen take the blame. She would- n’t miss this chance to tattle.
“I’ll give it some thought.”
Andrea dropped the line and turned to leave.
A breeze rustled the sheet music on Maureen’s desk. Andrea caught a glimpse, eyebrows lifting in surprise.
But she dismissed it. After all, in her eyes, someone hearing–impaired like Maureen had no place in music.
It never crossed her mind that the renowned composer Teacher Shi from abroad was Maureen herself.
After Andrea left, Maureen calmly gathered her compositions before lying down.
Meanwhile, Andrea pondered how to tell Geoffrey about Maureen asking for money.
If she told him outright, he might not believe her.
Besides, she’d cried wolf too many times.
Soon, Andrea hatched a plan. She’d give Maureen a portion of the money first.
Then she’d make sure Geoffrey saw the handoff.
The next morning, Andrea smoothly had breakfast delivered, acting as if she owned the place.
Maureen, feeling unwell, slept late.
When she finally stirred, breakfast already waited in the dining room.
Geoffrey had returned at some point and now sat in the living room.
“Geoffrey, breakfast is ready.”
Andrea said.
Geoffrey glanced at her: “I’ve eaten. Go back after breakfast.”
“If returning home isn’t convenient, I’ll arrange a hotel for you.”
Repeatedly refused, Andrea timidly dared not keep pestering, fearing Geoffrey’s anger.
“Then please arrange a hotel for me.”
After departing Pearl, Andrea sat in the luxury van and immediately had a check prepared.
Later, Andrea texted Maureen: “I’ve prepared 200 million dollars. Meet me at Main Street Cafe tonight at 10. I’ll give
it to you first so you’ll feel reassured.”
At eight in the morning.

Maureen just woke up.
She checked her phone and discovered Andrea’s text.
Agreeing to give me money this easily?
Maureen found it fishy.
Still, wanting to see what Andrea was up to, she replied “OK“.
Andrea received Maureen’s text message, her lips curling up high, and immediately sent a message to Geoffrey.
“Geoffrey, I don’t know what kind of relationship you’re keeping with Maureen now, but she’s not simple.”
“If you don’t believe me, go to Main Street Cafe at 10 tonight.”
She wanted to expose Maureen’s true face in front of Geoffrey.
Maureen didn’t know any of this yet. After getting up and washing up, she saw Geoffrey sitting on the sofa in the liv- ing room, looking at his phone.
Geoffrey heard footsteps, deleted the message Andrea had sent, then looked up at Maureen.
“Let’s go out for breakfast.”
Maureen was a bit puzzled. She clearly saw what looked like breakfast set out in the dining area.
Without thinking much, she followed Geoffrey out to eat.
The restaurant outside had exquisite breakfast items set out.
Maureen didn’t stand on ceremony, picked some of her favorites, and started eating.
Geoffrey kept watching her: “Don’t you have anything to say to me?”
“What?”
Maureen looked puzzled on the surface, but in her heart, she was already thinking of Andrea.
“Nothing.”
Geoffrey didn’t ask further.
Maureen thought he really had been idle lately. Didn’t he need to go to the company?
The breakfast was quickly finished.
The driver took the two to the company.
Inside the company, sharing an office with Geoffrey, Maureen couldn’t focus on writing the score at all.
Soon, she couldn’t sit still anymore and walked over to Geoffrey’s desk.

“I want to go out for a walk.”
Geoffrey paused his hand flipping through files, his handsome face stern: “Hmm.”
Maureen didn’t expect it to be so easy. Before leaving, she added, “I have something to do tonight and will be back late.”
