Chapter 202
**Elizabeth's POV**
I could clearly see the change in everyone's eyes. They were no longer satisfied with just being friends or acquaintances with me, they no longer hid it. They left all decency behind and wanted to be close to me and possess me.
Francis was so excited that flames sprang up on his skin again.
If what Elroy said is true, then...
I am the selected tester.
I was born to experience the goodness and cruelty of this world, as a way to let the moon goddess decide whether to destroy it...
Elroy's words suddenly solved the puzzle that had been bothering me. No wonder Isabella would say those words. So she experienced something similar to me 10,000 years ago.
I was fated to be the selected tester, and they were fated to love me.
Rejecting them is the equivalent of denying the meaning of their existence. It was indeed too cruel to them.
But it was hard for me to accept so many men without hesitation.
I didn't dare to look directly into their longing eyes.
"Can you please give me some more time to think about it? I need to think it over before I make a decision."
I sighed and said, "Before I make a decision, can you all stop arguing and quarreling? I don't want to ruin the cooperation between you."
They all nodded urgently as if they were afraid I would backtrack.
"We can accompany them to the bottom of the sea to retrieve the treasure," Austin and Brandon said.
"I can, too. I can swim." Francis said.
"I have a plane. I can get you there and take you to leave." Julian said.
Louis looked at everyone and then said, "Since all of you will go, I will go too."
"No way!" The other eight men, in a rare moment of unity, refused to let Louis join them, "We can't trust you."
Instead of arguing with them, Louis complained to me, "Elizabeth, look at them! They're so rude! They iced me out! It's not fair!"
" Well," I said awkwardly, "I can't trust you either. You're a collaborator with the Blood Moon Pack alpha."
Louis' face turned red with anger as he argued, "My collaboration with that bastard is over! It's over! Elizabeth, you can't follow them and have me sidelined. I'd be heartbroken."
"Aren't we no different than turkeys in your eyes? Would a vampire be heartbroken by being ostracized by turkeys?" I couldn't help but say. Even the mate bond couldn't dispel my stereotypical image of vampires.
"Oh, Elizabeth, don't say that. It hurts my feelings too much. I don't think of you as turkeys. You're a fragrant, delicious cupcake in my eyes, and they are, well, all shit in my eyes."
All eight other men glared at him and clenched their fists.
Sensing hostility and danger, Louis rushed off, leaving one last sentence.
"If you don't take me with you, you'll lose a powerful and agile helper. You will surely regret it!"
"Don't run! I'm going to beat the shit out of you!"
The day we left for the sea, we took Louis with us anyway.
He was indeed a good helper and, if we left him alone, we did worry that he would sneakily unite with the Blood Moon pack's alpha while we were away.
We didn't have complete trust in him yet, and he must be under our watch.
Of course, I didn't think it was our responsibility.
Even if Louis was my mate, he was a ruler full of ambition. I believed he would not lose his mind entirely for love, he would only do what was best for him.
When the blood moon pack was powerful, he chose to work with the blood moon pack. When all the werewolves formed an alliance to fight the Blood Moon Pack together, he chose the more numerous werewolf alliance again.
It will take time for him to gain our trust to be tested.
Just when we were about to reach the beach, Julian suddenly said seriously, "Attention! I detect someone ahead!"
"What?"
"There are a lot of people on the beach, and it looks like a team. I suggest we land right here and don't let them spot the plane."
Isidore said at once, "I agree. I can fly over to the front and check out the situation."
I stood up quickly and said, "I'll go with you."
It was awkward to stay inside the plane. Everyone was quietly peeking at me. I felt very uncomfortable. Besides, I did want to offer them some help.
Louis also stood up, "I'm coming with you." He patted the cloak behind him and said braggadocious, "I can fly too."
The three of us opened the door of the plane and leaped down.
We didn't fly very high, but looked for trees or rocks for cover as we did so.
"Oh, I smell nasty werewolves." Louis suddenly wrinkled his nose and said.
Isidore and I glared at him at the same time.
Louis shrugged, "I'm not talking about you guys. I said I smelled a big pack of stinky werewolves. They're right up ahead."
Soon Louis' words were verified, and we saw the Blood Moon pack's alpha on the beach.
He was leading a group of warriors and was throwing something toward the sea.
Once again, Isidore and I glared at Louis simultaneously, "Did you tell the Blood Moon Pack's alpha our secret?"
Louis stared wide-eyed and shook his head, "No. I didn't. I don't know why those stupid werewolves would come here."
Quickly he added, "And when I say stupid werewolves, I don't include you guys."
Isidore pulled me behind him and hissed, "If you lie and betray us, you will die."
Louis held up his hands, "Calm down, man. We had better keep our voices down and find a place to hide so they don't find us. Let's see what they're up to."
We hid behind a reef and heard the alpha of the Blood Moon pack order, "Throw the net down! Don't forget the bait! We must catch the mermaids!"
