Chapter 20: 1

Mary was up to something. After I showed her my fire power, she had this weird look on her face. Like she knew something but wasn’t sure she should tell me. She did say that one parent could have been a light creator and the other a fire mage, which was something I had already figured out seeing as I had two powers. I remembered learning that you get one or both parents’ powers. But that look she gave had me wondering, what if one parent had two powers? Did she know who my parents are?

As the days went by, more powers started to manifest. I had know idea what was going on. The bullying stopped but most of the other witches still did not like me or even trust me. Stephen, Jennifer ( whom I suspected had a crush on me), and Mary tried to help control my powers. I was having a difficult time. It seemed every time I had a strong emotional reaction to something, I got a new power. I was overwhelmed and it all led to more questions. Who were my parents, that I should have so many powers? Mary thought that one could be fae, for they have many powers. Whereas witches usually have just one; two at most. Jennifer taught me yoga, to help my body and spirit stay calm. Stephen, being a jock, started me on an exercise regimen. Mary continued working with me on how to use my magic. She was now my private tutor since it was no longer safe for me to be in classes ( we never knew what power would pop up next). I was really starting to hate being a witch or whatever I was, the more powers I got the worse I felt.

Once again the weekend was here. When I opened my door I found a note taped to it. I took it down and read it:

YOU ARE DEAD TAYLOR WELCH!!!!!

Have a nice day.

Well, that is confusing. Am I dead or having a nice day? The note was typed so no comparing handwriting. Anyone could have left it, but I had a feeling it was Cranston.

I went to my training session with Mary, keeping an eye out for any signs of trouble. I didn’t encounter any. And my session went great. I think I am starting to get the hang of this.
