CHAPTER 8
I woke with so much energy and I checked the time to see it was just 4:30 in the morning, today is our OPEN DAY and automatically a free day for me and my friends. Kiki decided to go back home yesterday evening as she can’t run away from home forever. I decided to go on a jog, so I put on my black leather jogging bra and black sweatpants with my black All Star canvas shoe. I picked up my ear pod and my phone from the charger and when I got outside, I played a very nice song by Lil Dicky which featured D.J Khalid and Kendall Jenner.
I left the house and was now jogging towards the forest, yes, the forest because it has always been my favorite place to jog majorly because of its quietness. I continue jogging until I found myself in front of an abandoned house and that was when I realized I have jogged way far than how I planned, and I have never been here before but whatever I decided to check out the lost house which looked like an old family house. As I approached the house, I started to hear people speaking distinctly and I couldn’t figure out anything, I quietly press my ears against the door and realized the sound was coming from a farther place from the door, I opened the door quietly and sneaked in and immediately the noise started becoming stronger and nearer with smokes flying around in a random motion. I quickly hide behind another door which must be the door leading to the kitchen, but I couldn’t really see the inside. Different loud footsteps started approaching me and I can hear a lot of voices now but what they were saying I couldn’t understand. Immediately someone leaned on the door behind where I was hiding and shouted “Leon”. The voice sounded so familiar, but I couldn’t seem to figure it out. After I was sure that none of them was still around and the day is breaking already, I left my hiding place and started running towards home.
“Hope your friend’s bruises are healing,” a familiar voice asked from an unknown angle then I stopped on my track, I looked around and couldn’t find anyone.
“shouldn’t you be in school?” the voice said again and immediately someone jumped down from the tree “Oh, it is you Ashley” I replied after seeing she was the one and I took a step backward “I am not in for a fight,” I said loud enough for her to hear “But I will not allow you to go in peace” she replied looking as horror as any ugly bitch like her will look “then I will give it to you in bundles” I assured her deciding to give her what she wanted Just target that boobs Norah, only the boobs are enough to teach a novice like her I decided to follow Beatrice's advice and as I was about to attack her, two guys also jumped down from the tree, and then I took two steps backward.
At this point Norah, you have to run for your life I looked up at them looking so dreadful, the guys have scars on their faces making them look more like a beast, I used lizards’ style to switch sides with them and I am now backing the way to my house while they are backing the forest making us face each other. I quickly turned my head in the opposite direction at a right angle, shooting my head forward as my legs started running simultaneously on a straight line while they keep following till it got to a point where I no longer hear their footsteps again.

As I was already tired due to what happened in the morning, I begged Kyle to drop me off at school.
“Coach Becca” I screamed as I ran towards her and she received me in a warm embrace and later let go “what are we doing?” I asked as I started walking towards the changing room to strip out of my dress and change into my swimming trunk “A more exclusive backstroke” she replied as she brought out the net to further clean the pool After changing, I returned to her and we both jumped in the water.
“now keep your body flat like a plank” she commanded, and I lifted my legs making my hips float on the surface, so I won’t sink a little “use a flutter kick,” she said as I keep my legs straight and started kicking from my hips rather than my knees to prevent my knees from getting sore “Use a long fluid arm motion” she commanded again, and I placed my arms at my side then I reached one arm up pointing to the sky and once my arm hits the water, I sculled outward to propel myself forward and started performing the same motion repeatedly “breathe once per arm cycle Norah,” she said sounding as loud as ever
“steady breathing is important” I completed the sentence for her, and she busted into laughter “Use the cloud to keep yourself straight and accelerate your arm speed,” she said which I followed strictly.
The coaching went on and on till I can perfectly do it on my own and coach Becca was very happy with my performance.
“We have a competition coming up a week before Christmas, so you have to put in all your efforts” coach Becca said as I was seeing her off to her car “I will try my best” I replied “Good because that will be your ticket to my wedding ceremony, and you will be allowed to bring your friends with you” she stated “you are getting married?” I screamed excitedly and reassured her that I will really do well if not for anything but for wedding delicacies.
Coach Becca left and I called Kiki to come and pick me up …………………………………………………………………………………..
“hop in like a frog” Kiki called out as she distracted me from my phone making me realize her presence.
I walked up to where she parked and entered into the passenger’s seat as she ignites the engine again and started accelerating outside the school compound “Where are we heading my lord” she asked bowing her head in a sarcastic manner “let us go to the guys” I demanded “why not your place, you haven’t been spending much time with Kyle these days,” Kiki said
“Kyle isn’t a baby, dear, and besides, I just felt something has changed in him” I replied looking a little confused as the thought of how uncomfortable I now feel around my once favorite cousin flashed through my mind.
“Kyle is still the same to me actually and you have to change any bad feelings about him” she stated as she finally pulls out of the school and now on the way to Bran’s house “I had an encounter with Ashley today,” I said smiling
“really?”
“where”
“how”
“did you spank her ass?” she questioned without giving me chance to answer “suspense lady” I finally replied while she looked at me disgustingly from the corner of her eye “whatever” I rolled my eye before I turned on the speaker and started vibing to the song.

I knocked on the door and immediately the door open to reveal Bran “what are you doing here” he asked looking disappointed to see us “We aren’t here to disturb you in case you are keeping a hoe inside” I replied while I pushed him out of the way and passed by him as Kiki followed close behind “Princess” Fed exclaimed immediately he set his eye on us from the kitchen while I smiled Immediately Mathis heard our voice he rushed out and hugged Kiki from the back “Try to be serious for once Mathis” Kiki teased as she pulls away from Mathis while he smirked “Guys I actually had an encounter with Ashley today” I announced “What?” Mathis asked
“Did she try to hurt you?” Bran asked while the happy expression on his face quickly turned sad and angry “let us take our seat guys,” Kiki said gesturing toward the sitting room “so, can you narrate everything that happened to us now” Fed requested I explained everything to the guys and Kiki, about the abandoned house, how I was chased, and every damn thing.
“so, you said you heard a very familiar voice in the abandoned house right” Bran questioned while I nodded “And on your way, you met with Ashley again, right?” Kiki asked while I also nodded “think about the voice, it must be linked to Ashley” Mathis demanded while others keep staring at me.
I thought for some minutes and I was able to recognize the voice was Morris’ voice, I have heard her talk and scream a lot so I should have recognized her voice easily.
“Morris, I think it was Morris,” I said anxiously while others grasped “Morris?” Kiki asked looking so surprised while I nodded telling her I am sure “So, these girls have hideouts already,” Mathis said laughingly while Fed joined him “Can they be linked to the guys that attacked us?” Kiki asked looking like she just realized something “I am very sure our attackers are cultists” Fed replied
“I am strongly suspecting Kia because what can ordinary girls do,” Mathis said smiling.
“Now we have two suspects,” I said looking at Kiki and continue “we have to find a way to compare the handwriting in the letter that was given to Kiki on the night of the attack with the handwriting of those girls to confirm they are behind this” I concluded
“that is a very brilliant idea” Bran commended smiling at me.
“Anything from Kia yet?” Kiki asked bringing Kia up into the discussion “Nothing yet” Mathis replied while Kiki nodded Bran and I continued to exchange glances unconsciously that I got tired and finally asked Kiki to let us start going home.
“we will see in school tomorrow guys” Kiki and I said in sync and everyone burst into laughter except Bran “you Ladies so this a lot” Fed pointed out looking at both of us surprisingly We bid everyone goodbye and turned towards the door and as I was about to take the last step out of the house Bran called out my name and I turned to look at him, yet I immediately looked away.
