Chapter 4.
ZENEVIEVA……
I'd say that I lost my senses immediately when I stepped into the prince's room to see Marcella.
What the heck would she be doing with someone she was sure would be leaving her soon? She seems to be slut.
I wonder what her mate will be thinking about her. I felt my wolf perk up in disgust and jealousy and wanted to just slam her head straight to the wall.
Out of anger not minding that I'm under his custody for committing a crime, I twitched toward her and kicked her heavily since my hands were tied backward.
All eyes fell on me instantly and then I felt my senses back.
"You animal!" Marcella yelled at me. "Don't dare lay your filth feet on me again." She warned, but I twisted my lips and looked off.
The princess walked closer to me and held my ear, she squeezed it causing me pain that I hit her arm.
Her eyes widened.
"Huh! You just dared to hit the Alpha princess of Mudville pack." She exclaimed annoyingly.
I stared at her for a while. "And so?"
That question got the prince pissed off that he came closer to me and held my hair, he yanked it and landed a heavy slap on my face.
"Who do you think you are in this palace? Aren't you the rogue that my mother brought in as a maid out of pity?" He screeched at me.
I lifted my face. "You aren't mistaken, I am that rogue," I smirked at him and he let out a growl doing well to scream all over my body as If he was looking for something.
"Rumors said that you killed your parents and were banished from your pack, and you're here misbehaving." He added.
That part is what I hate most, recalling the death of my family hurts me a lot.
I'm innocent, but no one would believe it.
"Okay, I heard that you beat up your fellow maid. Is that true?" He asked, bringing me back to reality.
I took a deep breath and swallowed deeply. "Yes, I did," I replied to him defiantly, not glancing away. "She called me names," I tell him again.
He held my cheeks with his two palms staring into my eyes.
"You're nothing but a coward in this pack, so for no reason would you raise your cursed hand on my people." He warned me.
I licked my lips. "Then warn your people to mind their business and stop interfering in other people's matters… and then, I am not a coward," I replied to him aggressively.
Those hands on my cheeks were so painful that I felt he would draw out my skin.
"Look into my eyes and tell me that you aren't a coward." He said to me,
I believe it's a temptation so I had to withdraw myself from it. Who knows what my punishment would be for saying that again?
But then, I am not a coward.
He left my cheeks after so many minutes of not giving him a reply and then faced the guards.
"She will be given twenty strokes of lashes for the offense committed, and if she tries another… it will be worse." He referred to them.
They bowed down to him.
"Just the twenty strokes?" I asked him, trying to fake stupidity.
He narrowed his eyes, staring at me.
"Do you want more than that? I'll surely add it for you." He replied to me, but I faked a smile.
"Ummm! Just warn your people not to step on my feet, or I might do the worst and you'll do nothing about it. If you kill me, you'll be banished. And If you banish me, you won't get the throne." I uttered boldly.
I could tell how irritated he might be feeling because he wasn't expecting such a thing from me. And the fact that I was saying nothing but the truth made him bite his lips hard and he sank his fingers on the chair he was sitting on and we heard a ripping sound. His claws had sunk into the material of the beautiful leather couch he sat on and I grinned.
I turned and took a last glare at Marcella who was holding his hand.
"Stop glaring at me you devil. Just leave because you're already a loser." Marcella blurted at me.
I smiled sheepishly. "You're an asshole." I retorted and she bit her lips, then I walked out of the room before the guards.
They followed my back for a while and then dragged me to the backyard and tied me to a tree there, then began giving me lashes of cane.
It was damn painful, but I had to endure because I'm a strong woman.
*******
TYSON……
Those last sentences she made to me before leaving kept resounding in my brain all the time, not until Marcella drew my attention.
"Are you thinking about her or something else?" She asked me.
I glanced at her. "Something else."
The princess walked closer to me. "What's it?"
"Marcella, go out there and call any guard that you see around," I ordered her.
She nodded and left the room immediately.
Collette was so mean to know what was going on in my mind, but I had to swallow my words.
Not up to a minute, Marcella returned with a guard to my room.
"Hey! Do you know the girl beaten up by Vieva?" I asked the guard.
He nodded. "Yes, your majesty."
"Then go call her for me," I ordered him.
The guard left instantly and returned with the maid as I ordered.
"Female, I don't care to know what transpired between you and Vieva, but I just want to give you a warning."
I told her as Collette and Marcella focused their gaze on me, waiting for my next words in anticipation.
"Don't you ever interfere in anything concerning her, mind your business or I will do nothing if she hurts you again," I warned the girl.
She nodded and bowed down. "Okay, your majesty. I'll do as you've ordered." She left the room afterward with the guard, and Collete held my hand.
"Are you supporting Vieva?" Her eyes widened in raw shock as she came over to stand before me.
I shook my head. "I'm only trying to protect myself, so I won't do any of what she just listed and lose everything."
She smiled and patted my shoulder.
"I'll have to go see how she's doing under the punishment," I stated and they agreed to go with me.
I left the room alongside them in the backyard to see Vieva unconscious on the floor bleeding, but I didn't feel for her.
"What if I punish you just like you did to her?" I heard a familiar feminine voice behind me.
The three of us turned at the same time to see that it was my mother.
Gosh! I because she can punish me just like she asked now.
