Gawking at the man in front of him, Lu Junhan totally couldn’t believe the man grabbed the woman out of his arms just like that. More importantly, the man turned out to be He Siming.
“Mr. Lu, having fun, huh? Just like I thought, you don’t care about the project at all,” He Siming said as he slightly raised his eyebrows with a flicker of harshness in his eyes.
Wen Shuyue didn’t come to her senses and struggle to free herself from He Siming’s arms, until she heard them talking. Lowering her head, she felt somewhat embarrassed to talk to He Siming, “It’s you, Mr. Lu. Thank you so much for helping me out.”
“You should’ve known better to come to such a place, where girls got assaulted easily.” He Siming said with an increasingly cold look in his eyes, totally disregarding Wen Shuyue.
His cold words gave Wen Shuyue chills while some warm feeling constantly surged up from the bottom of her heart.
Lu Junhan’s men set Lin Lin free probably for fear of offending He Siming. Lin Lin ran to Wen Shuyue hurriedly and whispered to her, pointing at He Siming, “He must be He Siming, the CEO of Mannis, huh? Wow, he’s way more handsome than I expected.”
Wen Shuyue went speechless and pressed against her forehead with her hand, looking exactly like the facepalm emoji.
Seriously, that was what Lin Lin concerned about at his moment? Reckless or dull-witted, which should be the best comment on her?
“She is my ex-wife, what’s the big deal that I’m intimate with her? How does it bother you, Mr. He?” Lu Junhan came to his senses in no time, and his weird tone sounded quite treacherous.
Now he remembered she was his ex-wife?
Hah!
Wen Shuyue sneered and replied in an extraordinarily apathetic voice, “Like you said, I’m your ex. We’re not related now. But I guess you will have a new ex-wife pretty soon.”
“What do you mean?” Lu Junhan’s face twisted with his eyebrows knitted.
The Lu Group was likely to go bankrupt if Lu Junhan failed to gain the funding from the Qin Group at this critical moment.
In recent years, the business had been thriving in the Lu Group under the leadership of Lu Junhan, but he didn’t exclusively own the company with Qin Weiwei holding a majority of the stock. So horrible consequences would come once he abandoned Qin Weiwei.
The more Lu Junhan thought, the angrier he became. In the end, he threw Wen Shuyue a punch. “You bitch, if you dare to tell this to Qin Weiwei, I’ll kill you tonight.”
Bang!
The noise from the punch abruptly woke Wen Shuyue. Unexpectedly, she missed the punch under the protection of someone. And that person was...
He Siming!
“Move! Get out of here with your friend.” He Siming knitted his eyebrows tightly and looked increasingly malicious with stern coldness in his amber eyes.
As soon as she came to her senses, Wen Shuyue nodded and left the bar with Lin Lin.
Before they left, she saw an obvious injury in He Siming’s hand. Definitely, she dared not have left him alone like that if he hadn’t been that tough in the fight.
The two of them waited for He Siming outside, not having a clue of the situation inside or the number of Lu Junhan’s men.
“What are we going to do? If He Siming gets hurt, we’re to blame. It hurts more that such a perfect man gets wounded than that my heart is dug out.”
Lin Lin kept mumbling some lines from idol dramas.
Wen Shuyue rolled her eyes at Lin Lin and said, “You’re still a boy-crazy girl after all these years. Your soul is lost whenever you see a handsome man.”
“No, I feel different this time. I have a crush on He Siming,” Lin Lin said and her serious expression scared Wen Shuyue.
As Wen Shuyue could remember, it had been long since Lin Lin took something that seriously.
All of a sudden, Wen Shuyue felt somewhat depressed and could hardly breathe. It was good for Lin Lin to take things seriously, how come Wen Shuyue felt a constriction in her heart?
“Here he comes. It’s He Siming.”
As soon as Lin Lin’s voice pulled Wen Shuyue back from her thoughts, Wen Shuyue took a look at the door offhand.
As always, He Siming remained cold, even cold enough to freeze the plants he walked by. Wen Shuyue could also feel vaguely a stream of cold air hit her.
“Miss Wen, a mom has fun at a bar while leaving her child at home, is that what a mother should do?”
As the deep voice suddenly came to her, Wen Shuyue subconsciously raised her head. Her eyes happened to meet those cold ones of He Siming. At this moment, she felt the pit-a-pat as if her heart would jump out from her throat next second.
Since when had she become so boy crazy like Lin Lin?
Wen Shuyue took a deep breath. Not until she calmed herself down did she say with a polite smile, “You’re right about that, Mr. He. I’ll try not to go to places like this.”
“Oh?” Try not to?
He Siming slightly narrowed his cold eyes. Under the dim light, his refined facial contour was highlighted and looked more attractive. He looked like a condescending ruler, having the power to have people obey his orders beyond their control.
Not knowing why, Wen Shuyue swallowed hard and switched the topic with a fake smile, “Anyway, thanks for rescuing me today, or else...”
“Or else what?” He Siming suddenly looked at her, raising his eyebrows, with a touch of vague happiness deep in his eyes.
Wen Shuyue was dazzled by his sudden interruption. As her fair pretty face couldn’t help flushing, she lowered her head shyly and came across his injured hand by accident.
“Ah! Your hand is bleeding.” She looked at him with an obviously worried expression.
“Hmm.”
Comparatively speaking, the injured one looked much calmer, as if cases like this often happened and he often got injured as well. He didn’t seem to care about this at all.
Wen Shuyue held his hand up and said anxiously, “My house is just around the corner. You can dress the injury in my place.”
The medical kit at her house was prepared for Wen Baobao. Although Baobao was smarter than his peers, he often got injured since he was a kid after all.
To her words He Siming made no response. Instead, he stared at her with meditative eyes.
Wen Shuyue failed to notice that and kept urging, “Let’s go now. You’ve got to stop the bleeding. It would go serious if it got infected.”
“Hmm,” He Siming replied before Wen Shuyue took him away.
On their leaving, Lin Lin woke up from the admiration of He Siming and came to her senses.
“Hey, wait up for me. I’m trying to catch up.”
The three of them went to Wen Shuyue’s house. All Wen Shuyue wanted was to dress the injury for He Siming, but unexpectedly...
The kiddo came up with a tricky idea.
