Chapter 11: Mermaids as human have guardian angels

\- In first place - said Seila - You most to understand that mermaids as humans, we also have angel... I mean guardian angels. We are not so different. We believe in God.

\- Even when I sign my heart feels that I am making a spell as mermaid but God is lestining...wove an enchanting spell that tangled thoughts and emotions. It was an invitation and a promise, one that echoed through the very fabric of the night, calling to something primal within all of us.

Mathias’s expression softened, caught between his werewolf instincts and the mesmerizing call of the siren. Ignacio leaned closer, captivated, as if drawn by an invisible thread. Even Yryhhna seemed momentarily entranced; her usual poise giving way to the ripple of magic in the air.

Seila’s smirk faded—a flicker of unease crossing her features as she too felt the pull of the melody.

\- “She should be careful,” Seila whispered to me, her voice barely audible above the siren’s song. “Siren songs have a way of ensnaring those who listen too closely.”

\- “What do you mean?” I asked, trying to shake off my own enrapturement.

\- “They can manipulate emotions,” she replied tightly. “Make you believe things that aren’t true or draw out fears buried deep within.”

As if sensing our conversation, the siren turned her luminous gaze toward us—her eyes shimmering like dark pools reflecting moonlight. In that moment, I felt a connection deeper than words could express; it was as though she could see into my very soul.

\- “Fear not! I am a keeper of secrets and a weaver of dreams,” she sang, her voice wrapping around us like gossamer threads—gentle yet insistent. “In this ocean of existence lies power, wisdom untold waiting for those brave enough to glean from its depths.”

A shiver ran down my spine as I considered her words my heart racing to match their rhythm—a desire to know without reservation curling tightly within me.

\- “But at what cost?” Mathias suddenly interjected, suspicion lacing his tone as he stepped forward protectively.

The siren’s smile widened almost playfully in response before she continued:

\- “Ahh, but dear wolves! You understand little about sacrifice.” Her laughter was melodic yet tinged with bitterness; watching them with a strange mix of amusement and sadness.

Ignacio bristled at her statement while Mathias stood firm beside him—each werewolf visibly unsettled by their shared histories that felt laid bare before this ethereal creature who seemed unfazed by their discomfort.

I looked between them, the air thick with tension and anticipation. The siren’s words hung like heavy droplets of water, poised to fall at any moment. There was a truth lingering in her melody, something dark yet inviting.

\- “You believe you are separate,” the siren continued, her voice smooth as silk over stone. “But all creatures of this world share the same threads of fate. Fear binds you, love unites you, and sacrifice—ah, sacrifice reveals the soul's true nature.”

Yryhhna snapped out of her daze and regarded the siren with narrowed eyes.

\- “Your charm may beguile,” she said coolly, “but we are not so easily led astray.”

The siren’s gaze flickered to Yryhhna for just a heartbeat longer. There was a glimmer of respect mingled with amusement.

\- “Ahh, fierce protector—you wield your heart like armor,” she teased gently. “But do not let fear overshadow your spirit; it would be a travesty to miss what lies within.”

Seila shifted beside me, her expression conflicted as if weighing unseen scales in her mind.

\- “We have guardians too,” she reminded us quietly—a thread of defiance woven into her tone. “Even out here on the sea.”

The siren tilted her head slightly.

\- “Indeed,” she replied thoughtfully. “Yet how often do you seek their guidance when the tides grow turbulent? We merfolk understand the dance between despair and hope; our angels guide us through tempests.”

Mathias snorted softly but quickly restrained himself under Ignacio’s sharp glance.

\- "And what will your guidance cost us?" he pressed again.

The siren's laughter rang bright once more—musical yet edged with darkness that sent a shiver down my spine.

\- "Everything comes at a cost," she said simply, unfazed by our scrutiny. "But those blinded by desperation often fail to see worth beyond mere price tags."

With those words echoing in my mind, I felt an urge tugging deep inside me—a hunger for knowledge mixed with an alluring danger that both thrilled and terrified me.

Suddenly drawn into this internal conflict swirling like currents beneath my skin, I took a tentative step forward—ignoring Seila’s warning glare and Mathias’ murmured protests.

\- "What do you propose we seek?” I finally asked the siren; my voice barely above a whisper amidst the chorus of crashing waves surrounding us.
