Steamy moment
ELENA
Never in a million years did I imagine I'd be this shocked, but here I was, with my jaw lying flat on the floor.
Every picture had my stomach in stitches. Every one of them was a perfect capture of every day I stepped out with my daughter for the last three years.
Every outfit. Every visit to the salon. Every walk in the park. My birthday outings. Claire's birthday outings. And then…
My heart raced at the last picture. Vince with a cake and my little girl, grinning ear to ear. That was a few months ago.
How did he…it wasn't on her birthday outing. She only wore this outfit once and that was to her daycare. So how did he…?
“How did you…” I showed him the picture. His guilty eyes faltered.
“I…went to her daycare.” He blurted out in a breath. “Don't hate the caregivers. They really wanted to tell you. They just couldn't dare go against me.”
Hate them? Tears welled up in my eyes. Hate them? I should thank them! Claire returned home that day so giddy, I couldn't fathom why. But I felt grateful to her caregivers regardless. And damn right, they deserved my gratitude.
"Who did you tell Claire that you were?"
"Who do you think I told her I was?" He retorted calmly. "I made her swear not to tell you though. I said I'd disappear if she did. That was a bit mean. But it seems it worked, seeing as she never really mentioned it to you."
Tears rolled down my face as I stared at the picture. They were tears of joy, though. Because…this just healed me. In a million ways.
“I was always a part of our daughter's life…” he said, making me look at him. “...and yours, Elena.”
My heart swelled. This kind of excitement was dangerous. It could make a person explode. Literally.
“So don't marry him. If you do, you're gonna make history as the quickest widow the werewolf world has ever known,” he said with all note of seriousness.
I bit back a smile. Jealous Vince was still the best genre of him and I'd never trade it for anything else.
“Didn't you hate me when I left?” I had to ask.
He sucked in his lips with a tight chuckle. “Hate you? I could never hate you. Not really. I was just…miserable. And I spent every day wondering how you could actually abandon me like that, Elena. Your cruelty towards me knows no bounds.”
“I’m…sorry…” Saying that came easier than I thought. And I meant it. “I’m really sorry. I was just scared. I couldn't handle Father disowning me. And with your first Mate's return, I thought you were gonna leave me. So I left first, because I thought that's gonna make it hurt less. But I was wrong. It only made it hurt more.”
“Leave you? You thought I was gonna leave you?” He asked in a pissed voice. “Elena, what part of my actions made you think that? Certainly not the countless times I endangered my life for you, or the times I went against my family for you. Certainly not when I tweaked my laws for you, Elena. Are you kidding me?”
“I know. I know. And I'm sorry…I'm sorry…I was truly terrified. Now I'm not even sure why I was terrified but I was.”
Crying as hard as ever wouldn't fix this. But I couldn't control my tears. Yes, I was an idiot. But hear me out, a man like Vince being so hopelessly in love with a woman happens once in a century. And it already happened with his first mate.
It was just too good to be true that he'd also completely fallen for me too. And I was terrified of completely letting myself sink into it. Because it felt like it was all a fantasy and I'd wake up to reality soon, and he wouldn't be by my side anymore…
I wouldn't be able to handle that if it happened.
He wasn't moving. I wasn't sure what to do either. Go on my knees. Go to him. I don't know.
“Vince…”
His jaw clenched. “Fuck it.” He groaned out, dropping the glass and charging towards me.
I anticipated whatever it was but gasped when my lips got attacked ravenously.
My fingers went to his hair, raking that sleek beauty as I met his pace. I've missed those lips. Shameless of me to admit but I missed them. So much I thought I'd die.
“You shouldn't have returned, Elena, at least not now,” he whispered, in between kisses. “You shouldn't have returned but it's so fucking good to hold you this close again.”
His lips raked my neck, my face, my eyes, he was fucking licking me up. Ravenously.
“I missed you, baby. I missed you so much.”
He didn't give me the chance to say it back. He was devouring my lips again while his fingers worked hard to release my hair from its pins and open the zipper of my dress.
In a flash, my dress was gone. I broke the kiss to take off my panties and I yanked open his belt. He took off his pants and ripped off his shirt. We were both stark naked.
He hurled me into his arms, kissing me again as he walked. I wasn't sure where he was going until my back hit the cold surface of the full-length window.
My legs were tightly wrapped around his torso. He held me with one hand while the other pumped his dick.
He broke the kiss briefly, sucking my nipples. I threw my head back at the pleasure, caressing his hair.
“You on pills?”
Good thing I wasn't completely lost to my ecstasy. I wouldn't have heard him.
“No…”
“No?” His voice was hoarse. “I wanna believe that bastard uses protection with you?”
“He…did…not get the chance to.”
His brows scrunched. Then realization hit him and he grinned.
"Good girl,” he began eating up my lips again. Then I felt him slide into me and I gasped in his kisses.
He held my ass cheeks as he thrusted into me. My boobs danced at his every thrust. My hands were wrapped around his neck as I basked in the pleasure his thrusts were sending to every nerve in my body.
Only Vince could fuck me in his arms so thoroughly like I weighed nothing. No other man could ever do that. None.
“Fuck! God, I missed this…!!”
“Yeah?” He grinned, rubbing kisses on the side of my neck while he went even harder. Until I was almost losing my voice.
“I…love you…!!” I shrieked out, just as he sent my body shivering from a mind-blowing orgasm.
My face was buried in his chest while I panted. He hadn't moved. His dick was still deep inside me but he wasn't moving anymore.
“Say that again, Elena…” his husky voice warmed my back as he spoke after a while of silence.
I looked at his face. His eyes were melted.
“Say that again,” he whispered.
“I…love you.” My eyes were getting wet from how shocked he seemed.
Why? Did he think it was easy to unlove a man like him?
I cupped his face, looking deeply into his eyes. “I love you, Vince.”
“You're not gonna take that back…”
“I won't…”
“You're not gonna abandon me either…”
“No…”
“If you do…” he stopped himself. “One more time. Say that again one more time. It sounds too damn good.”
I laughed, kissing his lips silently. “I love you, Vince Walker.”
“God, nah, that heals,” he breathed out. “You're the fucking death of me, Elena. The crazy part is that you know that and you use that card recklessly.”
“I'm sorry…”
“No, don't be.” He bit his lips, staring at my face like he was trying to memorize every inch. “I wanna fuck you properly. I mean, in my bed, over and over. Are you in?”
I grinned. “Yes.”
VINCE
Her soft snores were music to my ears. Her smooth skin felt nice to my fingers, they wouldn't stop caressing her. I wanted to stay here all day, just watching her sleep but I had work to do. Now more than ever.
I leaned in and kissed her lips. I pulled up the duvet, covering every part of her body. I watched her a little longer before gathering up the courage to leave the room.
I left the suite and took the elevator. It opened up to a long line of my men, bowing. Miguel was in front of them.
I nodded at them and began walking. Miguel followed with a few while the others remained on guard.
“Boss.”
“Good morning, Miguel. I heard what you did last night. The only reason I'm letting it slide is because I'm in a good mood this morning. But don't do that again. Know your fucking limits.”
He bowed. “Sorry boss.”
I walked through the revolving door and got into the car already waiting for me. Miguel joined me.
“Contact Richard's Pack. Let the man know his daughter is in safe hands.”
“Sure, boss. But…” he was itching to say something.
“What is it?”
“He already sent a message. He's threatening to come here if you don't send his daughter back to him.”
“She's fucking asleep. I'm not gonna wake her up. He's gonna have to wait till she's awake before I send her back to him.” I snapped.
He should be grateful I'm even willing to send her back to him.
“Sure, boss.”
“Listen, find out who Richard's been talking to. That bright idea of forming a sick alliance with sorcerers definitely didn't come from his head.”
We might be fighting but I still need to save his ass. Now it's a popular secret that he's a bit easily influenced. It was okay when I was the one influencing him, but someone else doing it now is gonna be detrimental to both him and Elena.
I need to know who is influencing him now. Even though I already have my suspicions.
“Yes, boss.”
“And Anastasia?”
“Our men watched her all night. She didn't make any suspicious moves.”
“Good.”
“How much longer are we gonna watch her, boss? Isn't it time to strike?”
He's right. It's about time. But God, I'm so damn nervous. Elena's return has me very unnerved. I'd be much better fighting this knowing she's a hundred miles away from here.
Because what's gonna happen to me if they grab her again? They know I'll fold when it comes to her. Trent knows that for a fact so he's definitely gonna come for her.
I need to strike first before he does or we're all gonna be dead.
