Chapter 9: 9. Accelerated Learning Program (2)

"Are there any of you who want to take part in the student acceleration program?" he asked everyone.

"So your studies will be accelerated, you can even graduate immediately if you register for the program that I offer," explained the man.

"Today's class is over, if any of you want to take part in the program, you can contact me at the end of class,"

Barbara looked at me, her eyebrows twitching as if to say that the program provided by James must not be something easy to go through. I knew she would react that way, not only Barbara, I was the only one who always got A's scores, and same with her I also wasn't interested in joining the program either.

"Let us go home!" asked Barbara.

I agree, but suddenly Mr. James called me.

“Elea! Come with me to the lecturer's room," he said.

Barbara and I looked at each other, wanting me to ask what was wrong, but the man was already walking faster so I couldn't ask but follow him.

"What's wrong?" Barbara whispered.

"I don't know if you want to go home, go home first," I said to Barbara.

“Erm, actually I wanted to take you to a nursing home after college. I just went there today, I feel I need a friend to strengthen me who is weak against social work," she explained.

"Aah, it's up to you if you want to wait for me. Just wait at the cafeteria, I'll be there later,"

Barbara went to the cafeteria, while I followed Mr. James, a handsome lecturer who is also a Lycan.

"Don't be shy Lea, you even know who I am, we can be friends," Mr.James said trying to be friendly.

"Sit down Lea, would you like something to drink?" he asked.

"No need, just tell me what's wrong. Please don't get too close, I'm allergic to fur,"

“Ah, well. Did you hear about the acceleration program? I made it for you Lea, so I'll arrange everything for you," explained James.

"What? Acceleration program for me? But why? I'm not interested in registering, "I explained.

"Drax asked me to speed up your college years, he wants you to focus on working with him immediately,"

"What? D.E?”

“Yup, even Flo said you had signed an employment contract with the company that houses Drax. I don't think you have a choice."

"What's the program like?"

"I will share the grid and material that you can learn about summarizing all the courses you haven't taken. You just have to study it and take the test, if you pass you can graduate," he explained.

"In how long?"

"Two weeks,"

"What? Two weeks? I think it is too short. But what if I don't pass?”

"Still you have to work for Drax so you have to leave college without a degree,"

I came out of Mr. James's room, I felt my life was unlucky because I knew Drax as a Lycan. No more lazing around on campus. I have to study a lot so that at least I can graduate from campus with a diploma.

With a little gloom, I walked towards the cafeteria to find Barbara. She must be eating now. As I thought, Barbara was having fun eating spaghetti.

"Lea!" she called.

I immediately sat down with a gloomy face in front of Barbara.

"What's wrong with you? What's wrong with your face?"

"Your handsome lecturer put me in the accelerated program. Looks like in the next two weeks I have a lot to learn,"

"Ow really? Wow, but I think you'll pass. There's no doubt about your ability in history," Barbara replied, not surprised.

"I don't know, I'm not too sure. Even Mr. James said he wouldn't hesitate to give me a test with the questions that should be,"

"I see, don't think about it too much. Let's go to the nursing home, introduce me to the caretaker there!"

Barbara and I went by Barbara's car to the nursing home where I worked socially a few days ago. The green atmosphere makes me feel homesick to come to that place.

"Nice place too,"

"Hmm, the elderly here are also very pleasant. I know some and they even consider me their child," I explained to the spoiled Barbara.

"Sounds like fun"

"Lea!" called someone who turned out to be Jonathan.

"Wow, Lea, who is he? How can there be an elderly as handsome as him?" said Barbara when she saw Jonathan walking closer.
