« You're about to find out what you need to soon detective. » He gave me a hint of an amused smile, his green eyes intensely holding mine in place.
I was momentarily at a loss for words due to his intense gaze and all I could manage to do was bite my lip softly before I could stop myself.
His eyes happened to catch the small act and stayed on my lips for a fleeting second, before meeting mine again with increased intensity this time.
I felt my heart pick up and suddenly felt frozen in place.
Wait.
I suddenly realized how I didn't like the control he was having over every part of me right now, and managed to break out of my dazed state.
« I have a question. » I said all of a sudden.
The flicker of surprise in his eyes from my nonchalance made me bite back a smirk.
« Surprise surprise. » He said sarcastically, trying to cover up.
I tried not to roll my eyes.
« You never told me what your name was. » I pointed out.
He smirked at me and leaned in a few inches over the table, causing my heart to do weird jumps.
I swear I have a retarded heart…
Just as he opened his mouth to speak, the door flew open, causing me to jump ten feet in the air.
Our heads snapped in that direction and I saw a short man with a black trench coat walk in.
Finally ! Something normal about getting kidnapped. Short mysterious man with a trench coat walks in, check.
The man looked to be about in his late forties and had thinning black hair, almost bald. He had beady black eyes that added to the creeper look.
Mr. Kidnapper stood up now to face him so I followed as well. I felt like we were doing a two-against-one thing here.
We all just stared at each other for a good ten minutes.
« What's taking you so long ? » He finally said in a high pitched voice, surprising me.
He looked like he would have a deep scary voice that would make me shudder, but it ended up making me hold in a snicker.
« We'll be there. Just give us a minute. » Mr. Kidnapper spoke through clenched teeth.
« Do you know how god damn long I've been waiting for you to get your ass downstairs ? » He said in a scary tone.
I was surprised when his tone actually gave me goosebumps. For such a squeaky voice, he could sound pretty intimidating when he wanted to.
« I don't know, I'm not fucking Mr. Wolf. » The kidnapper replied.
Wait, didn't Mr. Wolf only tell the time ?
« You better shut that mouth of yours before I do things that neither of us want. » The mystery guy threatened.
I really was starting to hate this guy… The fact that his voice slightly reminded me of Alvin from Alvin and the chipmunks didn't exactly increase my love for him…
« You can kiss my ass if you think-« Mr. Kidnapper started, but the man cut him off.
« You have five minutes to get down there. Any later and I take out the chains. » He growled in a slightly deeper voice, turning shortly afterwards, but not before turning to me and giving me a long stare.
The chains… ?
As soon as the door slammed shut, I turned to the kidnapper.
« What the hell was that all about ? » I cried, staring at him and waiting to be enlightened.
He sighed and ran a hand through his sexy hair.
« Skylar, I was going to tell you this earlier today and you might get a little mad at what I'm about to say. » He said, watching my reaction closely.
« I'm already kidnapped. What else could there possibly be that's worse ? » I rolled my eyes.
I forced my feet to not turn and run in the other direction when I saw him start taking small steps towards me.
« Skylar, that man you just saw, you need to stay away from him. » He said seriously, now an arm's length away.
« I knew he was trouble when he walked in. » I snapped my fingers, like a detective that just figured out the answer to a really hard question.
He just rolled his eyes at me for those Taylor Swift words.
« What I'm about to tell you, is something serious. » He started again.
« Yeah no duh. Why else is it so intense in here. » I retorted.
He let out a frustrated sigh, then planted his hands on my shoulders, causing my retarded heart to do some gymnastic moves.
« Listen to me carefully. » He looked at me with pleading eyes.
Like I could say no to that.
« Fine, what is it that's gotten your panties in a twist ? » I sighed, preparing myself for bad news.
« That man is my boss, he ordered me to kidnap you. » He started, watching me intently for my reaction.
He was probably expecting me to throw a huge temper tantrum considering I saw surprise in his eyes as I laughed.
I swear there's laughing gas in the air every time we're close.
« Why the hell are you laughing !? » He yelled, seeming agitated.
« You work for that man ? » I shook my head in disbelief. « I'm sure you could knock that man out with just one blow, hell even I can. »
I stared down at my knuckles proudly. The swelling had decreased and they were starting to look normal again.
« I'm not Batman. » He snorted, rolling his eyes.
« Clearly. Batman wouldn't have kidnapped me, instead he would've sat down with me as we would sip our smoothies together at that mall. » I sighed, imagining that amazing scene. Damn I wish he would've come that day…
« Anyways. » The kidnapper interrupted my day dream of me wiping smoothie off of Batman's chin.
Stupid kidnapper, doesn't he know never to interrupt my fantasies of Batman ?
« That man may weigh ninety pounds, but he's more dangerous than ten mafia families put together. » He said.
« So like the Joker ? » I asked referring to the Batman again.
He let out a long, controlled breath.
