Chapter 38 THE CALL
STELLA'S POV
“Babe I have news for you. I got a short time job to do.” I announced to Arya.
“Oh wow, tell me about it. Hope is not stressful.” she asked as I had successfully piqued her interest.
“Okay, I have to explain somethings though so that you will understand.”
“Okay, go on.” Arya probed.
“It’s a bit complicated but this is it.”
“There is this girl broke up from her past relationship tmeirh her ex’s best friend and —”
“Whoa! whoa!! woha!!! She dated her ex boyfriend's bestie? Wow that's insane.” Arya interjected the conversation as she was pretty much shocked.
“Yeah so they become two best friends. They were so much in love with each other but couldn't confess it out. The boy had a crush on another lady while the girl was dating his best friend. So he developed more feelings for her after their break up but is scared of asking her out for two reasons.”
“Hmm, sounds interesting. Go on.” Arya
“One, because she dated his best friend and two, he didn't want to lose both the friendship and relationship if she says no.”
“Smart move.”
“The girl got jealous seeing his crush around him and she told him then when he asked for her reason, she said that she couldn't spend most time with him because he now had a woman in his life. He battled with his feelings for her likewise she.”
“His workmate was aware of the whole thing and he persuaded him to ask the girl out regardless at least to know her reply than to assume. He did so after a long time and the girl was also speechless, shocked and scared. She began to avoid him, his calls and chats and messages.”
“What he feared the most began to come to reality. The girl was battling with her feelings for him and fear of the unknown. Trying to get herself together, she decided to leave town without telling him. He was devastated.”
“When she left, life turned out to be hell for her. She lost contact with him while he kept searching out for her as he claimed. With time, he gave up on her but he couldn't move on. Wedding preparations for him were already ongoing and as fate would have it, they both met, two days to his wedding at a restaurant where she worked as a waiter.”
“He was happy to meet her but she was devastated after finding out that he was getting married.”
“She then dropped a note for him, telling him how much she loved him but was scared to try and would have given it a try but it was already too late so she wished him happy married life. He was just on time to stop her from moving away again but it was late, he was stopped by his family.”
“As fate would have it, she was ordered to make a delivery at the wedding venue before she could get her pay. She wanted to forfeit it but the money was going to help her with her fares and bills so she went, risking it.”
“As the vows were about to be rounded, he stopped and rushed over to her, kneeling down and proposing to her with a spare ring that he had already gotten for her. This shocked everyone and made the bride angry and heartbroken.”
I narrated everything in details.
“Hmm that's so sad. Hardluck to the bride.” Arya said.
“Yeah… I feel sorry for her as well and also happy for the two lovebirds that got reunited.”
“So, what's the job now?” She asked me as I cleared my throat and continued.
“The ex bride now wants me to frame the man of having an affair with me so that the girl can leave him.” I replied.
“Like she wants you to help her and scatter their marriage?”
“Babe, don't say it that way. Remember that she also did nothing bad to deserve the humiliation they gave to her but that is none of my business though, my own job is to scatter the marriage and leave. I don't care if the bride believes him or not.”
“No Stella that's too cruel. Don't tell me you're accepting to do this?”
“Arya I need money. When I see a job, I take it as long as it's not getting anyone into jail or screwing someone's husband.” I replied, explaining my terms.
“I don't know Stella but I'll strongly advise you don't do what will get you cursed.”
“We are talking about thirty million dollars here lady.” I added, leaving the icing of the cake to come last.
“Thirty what— fuck! Is that how desperate she wants to ruin their union?” Arya exclaimed as she closed her mouth with her hands before she screamed so loud.
“So you now understand what I'm telling you. Ite such a huge amount of money. Who knows I might start another life with it.” I replied.
“Wait, what happened to your job that you are talking that way?” Arya asked as I sighed.
“My boss is starting to make unrealistic demands from me and I'm scared it will ruin my relationship with Dave.”
“I don't understand. What sort of demands is he making?” Arya asked as I just kept on signing. She was completely unaware that I was screwing my nose.
“He wants to keep having sex with me.” I confessed as I looked away from the phone, wanting to avoid her judgmental eyes.
“Damn! You're going too far Stella! What if that man begins to threaten you with your job? Wait, hope he hasn't done that yet?” She asked me with fill concern as I stared at her.
“No he didn't. Look the truth is I've fucked both of them.”
“Huh? Both of who?” Arya kept throwing her questions at me.
I could have sworn that if Arya didn't study nursing, she'd have made a good detective.
“My boss and his brother.” I replied.
“Shit! How did it happen?” She asked, wanting to know more.
Who wouldn't ask same questions when they hear the abominable things I've done?
Before I could answer, the screen held as the call kept showing “reconnecting.”
“Sorry, Mike called.” Arya replied after two minutes of putting the call on hold.
“Oh, what does he want?” I asked her, leaving my story for later.
“He wants me to visit.” She said as I raised my brows.
“How do you want to do that? You know you can't go back to the camp now.” I reminded her as she nodded.
“Yes but I can sneak there. You will cover for me please.” Arya pleaded.
“That's too much to ask but I'll try.”
“Thank you sweetheart. So how did you fuck both brothers?”
“Well I didn't know they are twins. Identical twins. That was how it happened.”
“Oh fuck! That's bad.”
The call held again and I just ended it.
I didn't want to distract her from talking to Mike as I believed he was the one calling.
After another two minutes, she called me back.
“Babe, Mike wants to have me as soon as possible. I don't want him screwing another girl. I need to leave as early as tomorrow to go and see him but I'll be back soonest.”
“You're the crazy one. You want to go that far just to screw a man?” I asked in disbelief as she smiled.
“Fuck you.” I ended the call.
