Chapter 12: Surreal Feeling

Ram's POV.

"Good morning, sir," Tricia greeted me as soon as I arrived at my office.

"Good morning. I wanted to know what my schedule is for today."

I tried to concentrate on what I needed to do today, but I couldn't get Atilla's face out of my mind.

I was worried that I had left her alone at home when she wasn't even feeling well, and to think that she had no one to turn to since all her relatives were in the province as far as I remembered.

"Sir Ram?" I was startled when Tricia called my name.

It seemed that she was finished telling me my schedule for today, but because my mind was preoccupied, I didn't hear a word she said.

"Cancel all my appointments for today; I have something urgent to attend to. If someone looks for me, just get their information and tell them that I will get back to them," I instructed her.

She was surprised when I told her that I would be leaving since I seldom leave work unless it was an important matter like my dad, but this time, I was leaving because of the woman in my place.

I left the office after giving her a few more instructions, returned to my car, and was soon on my way back to my condo unit.

I felt bad when I thought of Atilla. She was obviously unwell, and I should never have left her alone. Whether or not she was a prostitute, I had a responsibility to take care of her, as I was the one who had asked her to live with me.

I regret still going to work instead of staying by her side; the thought of her being uncomfortable at home only adds to my guilt, which made me drive faster.

Because it was only eight in the morning, there weren't a lot of other vehicles on the road, so I cranked up the speed on my car.

When I arrived home, I went straight to my room, where I discovered Atilla sleeping peacefully.

Seeing her sleep is such a comforting sight, and I wondered if I would ever tire of her beautiful face.

I prefer her this way as opposed to the night I saw her with Henry when she was wearing makeup and wearing fancy dress.

When I thought of Henry, I wondered how Atilla ended her relationship with him, but I quickly dismissed that notion because the past is the past.

I got the girl I wanted, and all I hoped was that Henry would not find out about what I did, or else I would experience his rage, which is not good for my business.

I softly walked up to her and touched her forehead. Immediately, I felt that her temperature had gotten worse because of the heat emanating from her skin.

She opened her eyes and had a confused expression on her face as soon as she felt my hand on her forehead.

"What are you doing here? I thought you'd gone to work?" She asked, trying to shake her sleepiness.

"I did go to the office, but I realized you needed me here; sick people need to be taken care of, and that's why I'm here," I said, smiling at her.

I felt hypnotized when I saw her smile and felt a gentle thump in my chest.

She didn't eat much at breakfast, so I decided to make her soup so that she could eat it easily.

"Just wait for me here," I said.

I didn't wait for her response before leaving the room and heading to the kitchen.

I wanted to make her porridge but didn't know how, so I decided to make some instant soup I found in the kitchen, which is when I heard Atilla calling me.

"Ram?" she called.

I just shook my head at her stubbornness, even though I told her not to move and just to wait for me in the bedroom.

"Didn't I say you should stay in bed?" I asked, and she simply responded with a wide grin.

I directed her to an empty chair and then returned to my task.

She remained silent as she watched me cook. Knowing how to cook is one of the skills required for someone who wishes to live independently; unfortunately, cooking porridge is not something I learned, so I settled for a ready-to-cook soup.

It occurred to me that this would be the first time I cooked for someone; not even when I was still living with Janine had I cooked for her, and the reason for this was that I was so busy with work that we either ate out or ordered deliveries.

After a couple of minutes, I was done preparing her soup, but before serving it to her, I decided to bring Atilla back to our room.

I hurriedly poured the soup into a bowl, and after retrieving what I needed, I returned to our room.

When I tried to feed her, she said, "You don't have to do this; I can take care of myself, and I don't want to burden you."

I said, "Don't worry, it's not a problem at all; what matters is that you get well."

"But... why are you doing this?" She was confused.

I suddenly looked into her eyes and didn't know how to respond to that.

I honestly don't know why I'm doing this, caring for someone I know I won't be with for the rest of my life.

"What kind of question is that? I'm doing this because you're sick," I answered, avoiding her gaze.

"Is that so... thank you?" she answered, and for some reason, it was as if I could detect sadness in her voice, which I decided to dismiss since maybe I was just overthinking.

She managed to finish everything in the bowl, and after that, I made her drink her medicine.

I stepped out to put the dirty dishes in the sink, and when I got back, I found Atilla already sleeping.

I decided to let her sleep and just wake her up when it was time for lunch.

I tried to convince her to go to the hospital so the doctor could check on her, but she refused.

Before I woke her up, I made sure our food was ready, and I decided to bring our lunch inside so she wouldn't have left the room.

"I'm just sick, Ram; I'm not paralyzed or anything," she said, laughing.

"It's better to be sure, so your fever won't get any worse, and why are you against going to the hospital?"

"Because it's just a simple fever, and since I'm already drinking paracetamol, I didn't see the need to go to that place," she answered nonchalantly.

I chose not to pursue the matter further and concentrated on eating when a sudden thought occurred to me.

"Don't take it the wrong way, but I was just curious... what did you do with the money I gave you?" I asked.

She coughed violently when she heard my question, so I handed her a glass of water, which she immediately drank, and then I walked behind her and rubbed her back gently.

"Thank you."

"No problem, so what did you do with the ten million you asked from me?"

"Some, I sent back home to the province, and the rest, I decided to put it in the bank," she said without looking at me.

"I see, that's good then. If you don't know what to do with your money, you'd better keep it in the bank for the meantime, but I would suggest thinking of a business so you can grow your money. If you want, I can help you if you decide to invest it or open up a business."

"Sure, I'll think about it first," she forcefully answered.

"I remember the woman I was talking to on the bridge saying that your name was Jocelyn, so how come it's now Atilla?" I asked when I remembered that incident.

For some reason, I noticed that she looked startled, but that didn't last when she looked at me smiling, so I thought maybe I was just imagining things.

"About that, I decided to give her a false name to protect my identity, and almost all prostitutes don't use their real names, right?"

What she said made sense; most people in this industry hide their true identities, hence using a code name or a fake name.

"But what made you decide to sell your body? There must be a really good reason why you chose to do it." I asked.

"I have my reason, Ram, but we can't talk about it," she said, avoiding my gaze.

It made me realize what a considerate buffoon I was; I shouldn't be asking those questions, considering that it's obviously a sensitive topic to her.

After that, she excused herself, saying that she was feeling a little dizzy, so I let her go back to our room to rest.

"Nice one, douchebag!" I angrily scolded myself.

Honestly, I have a lot of questions in mind, but I should be careful what I ask her to avoid offending her or worse, hurting her.

Since Atilla decided to rest, it allowed me to check my emails, and I saw some emails Tricia sent me.

I didn't notice the time since I was busy working, and when I looked at the time, I saw that it was already four in the afternoon.

Since it was still early to prepare for dinner, I decided to take a nap on the couch facing the bed. I opted to sleep there so as not to bother Atilla and also in case she needed anything.

I woke up when I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder, and I was awakened by the strong aroma of coffee, which woke my system.

I opened my eyes and was greeted by Atilla's smiling face while holding a cup of coffee.

"Good morning, sleepyhead," she said.

It took me a minute to realize what she said, and when I looked at the clock, I realized that it was already morning, meaning that instead of taking a nap, I slept for almost fourteen hours!

"Please don't tell me that I slept for fourteen hours," I said.

"Ok, I won't tell you that you slept for fourteen hours," she said with a wide grin on her face.

As I was still seated, she landed on my lap after I opted to put down the cup of coffee she had given me and pulled her closer to me.

Her buttocks rest on my still-sleeping manhood, but not for long, as it begins to awaken.

"So, are you trying to be funny now that you're feeling better?" I teased her.

She said innocently, "I just did what you told me to do," but her face was already burning crimson as she felt my member harden.

"Since you told me you were only doing what I asked, I'd want to do something else with you," I added with a devious grin on my lips, and I observed her eyes widening, especially since she could already feel my erection.

She stood up and stared at me incredulously, but I remained silent and continued to stare at her, not even bothering to hide my erection.

"Ram, no way! Remember, I had just gotten over being sick," she said, but when she didn't hear back from me, she ran away.

"Let the chase begin!" I yelled, followed by loud laughter.

I immediately chased after her and found her in the kitchen.

The large table prevented me from trapping her, and when I tried to run towards her, she dashed across the table on the other side.

"Damn this stupid table!" I thought to myself.

I tried to catch her, but she was too quick, and after running around the table, she made a dash out of the kitchen and into our room.

She was about to close the door when I moved in front of her, stopping her, and she had no choice but to back away and try to rush to the restroom, but this time, I was faster than her, grabbing her and engulfing her in my arms.

"Gotcha!" My voice was hoarse, not from running but from the desire that had suddenly awakened inside me.

She didn't say anything as she continued to stare at me, and I could see the ember of desire in her eyes, which prompted me to bring my face closer to her in order to capture her lips.

We had no inhibitions anymore as we made each other experience whatever want and lust we felt for each other.
