Chapter 152

I sighed as I rolled over in my bed and faced the other side, my head throbbed and my eyes heavy with the lack of sleep i've been having these days. I released another long and tired sigh and I looked over Chris's cold and empty side of the bed. He goes out often and he's never home, that bothers me so much but I know there's nothing I can do about it. We've been staying together for a month ever snce Gasant weirdly let me go without explaining anything. I remember each and every day that I spent in that cabin, I remember the day he cut the ties on my hands and showed me the door.

I was seating on the chair he placed for me in the middle of the room all tied up, I was probably sleeping because I remember waking up to my side cheek sting from the slap that he gave me. "You hit me so hard it feels like you forget i'm your niece, i'm just a child you don't need to be this violent." I said as soon as I felt the pain fading away. He chuckled as he walked towards my hands and untied me, weirdly he didn't say anything this time. He always says something sarcastic or stupid back, why is he untying me and why does he look so upset by this? I couldn't comprehend what was going on. I turned to look at him confused, kind of exciting that I get to walk my butt has been tingling and numb ever since I got here. He grabbed my arm and shoved me to the door, I stumbled forward and groaned as my body hit the wall missing the doorway. I turned and looked at him in confusion, he looked at me with a straight face and said nothing. I walked out in long strides anxious that he might just decide against and grabbed me by my hair and shove me back to that room.

That day when I walked out of that cabin, I walked into Chris's arms. I didn't have the chance to ask him what he was doing there as I was in a hurry to leave so I can get as far as possible from Gasant. We came back straight to my house and I freshened up, my family arrived to comfort me and he dissapeared. He has been disappearing the whole two weeks i've been back, I guess the man really doesn't want to be with me and there's nothing I can do to change how he feels if he could just man up and tell me straight to my face.

I stood up from the bed and dragged myself to the bathroom, these days everything is hard. I have to motivate myself before doing something, even brushing my own teeth. Chris means everything to me and right now my everything is avoiding me, well he's always avoiding me. Its so funny that I was out there trying to rescue him when Gasant caught me and held me hostage, I risked my life and my family's lives for me and now he's just doing the vest he can to avoid me. If I ever fall in love again, someone has to slap me or seat with me down and remind me how it turned out with Chris. I brushed my teeth and brushed my hair, I finished and made my way to the kitchen to make myself something to eat.

I heard voices talking as I walked to the kitchen, I rolled my eyes annoying that mom and her children are already arguing in my kitche so early, its like these people don't have theirown homes. They are always here and its just annoying, sometimes a person needs to be alone in their house and be able to breath. I walked into the kitchen with my arms shoved in sweater already displaying a bored look on my face, that immediately dropped when I saw Chris laughing with my family. How did they get him to stay, I smiled as I walked towards the table. Mom was busying finishing off cooking dinner and Taylor was busying setting the table, Chris and Tyson were busying giggling about something Mom just said. I smiled as I walked towards them and sat on one of the chairs on the table Taylor is setting, "Good morning, guys. I already told you, you don't need to come here everyday you know that right?" I said as I turned to look at Mom because I know she's the one who pushes my siblings to come with her. She stuck her tongue out to me and laughed as she continued with cooking. A part of me tries to understand that she fears losing me as I have recently joined the family, but they crowding me. Chris turned his head as he heard my voice and immediately made his way over to the table, I felt my heart pulse quicken as he slowly took long sexy strides to where i'm seated.

"Hey," he said as he softly brushed my shoulder in comfort, that really weirded me out, why is he brushing my shoulder not kissing my lips? "I thought you had already left," I said as he sat down next to me, he gave me a small smile and shook his head. "Gone where? honey, I caught him just in time, he was tiptoeing to his garage and I just couldn't let him live without making breakfast for him." Mom said as every one sat down on the table to eat. "Where do you anyways? Its been weeks and you are always somewhere when we come here." Chris looked like he didn't know the answer to that question, I couldn't even cover for him because even I wanted to know where he goes every day. "Its a surprise." he said as he immediately dished up for himself diverting our attention, I almost rolled my eyes if it weren't for the sickening feeling I was getting. In that moment I realised this is not the man that I knew, this man has secrets and he has no intention of letting me in on his secrets.

An aggressive knock all made us jump on our feet, I hurried to the door anxious to know who's knocking that loudly and what do they want? I opened the door to Autumn's face annoying face. I didn't spend another minute looking at her as I shut the door in her face, she banged on it trying to get my attention. I locked the door and walked to the table ready to forget that she ever knocked on my door, the first time she lured me to Gasant and this time. "What are you doing? she might be in trouble. " my mom scolded me as she rushed to the door, I stood in front of her preventing her from going to the door and opening it for the devil. "Even if she is, Mom. it's not our problem, she betrayed us." Mom pushed right through me and aggressively swong the door open.

"April, it's your father, he needs help."
