Chapter 26

Chapter 26
Easel
After rolling on top of Saphire, Easel trailed kisses along Saphire’s neck as Easel's fingers moved down her torso to slip into her pants, massaging her clit. Saphire moaned softly.
“What are you doing?”
“Finishing what we started a week ago.”
Saphire tangled her fingers in Easel’s hair as she thrust her tongue into her mouth. When Easel’s fingers were pushed into her pussy, Saphire came up off the ground, panting wildly.
“Easel!”
Easel arched her fingers inside of Saphire, purposely delving deep to explore every inch of her pussy while their tongues continued to duel for dominance. Saphire ran her hands down their bodies, making their clothes melt away. Easel groaned.
“Now you’ve done it.”
Easel bent Saphire’s leg up as she pulled her up before wrapping her leg around Saphire’s body. Easel scooted closer to Saphire, pressing their pussies against each other. She kissed Saphire as she started to grind against her, creating delicious friction between them until they were both dripping wet as they frantically rushed toward orgasms. Easel tossed her head, moaning as Saphire kissed and bit on her breasts.
“YES!”
“Easel!”
They ground against each other as their bodies trembled with the intensity of their pleasure. When their bodies came down, Easel laid beside Saphire, taking her hand. She kissed the back of it. Saphire rolled toward her to lay on her chest, while Easel rubbed her back.
“I thought we were waiting to be home with our mates?” She asked softly.
Easel chuckled softly. “Your snoring is just so sexy.”
Saphire bit into her shoulder. “You snore louder, and trust me, it is not sexy.”
Easel laughed before sobering up as she wrapped her arms around Saphire’s shoulders. “I had a nightmare that I died and didn’t get to make love to you. I didn’t want that to come true.”
Saphire kissed her cheek. “I promise you that I won’t let you die. You’re going to be with me so long that my very presence is going to make you want to stab something.”
Easel ran her fingers down Saphire’s bare spine. “Promise?”
Saphire replied, “Yes, my love.”
“Oi, are you two done? Can we move on so I can go home to Jay?”
Saphire and Easel laughed as Saphire magicked clothes onto their bodies.
“Yeah, come on. It’s time to go to the Claw Pack. They supposedly have a set of twins.”
Easel and Saphire stretched as they got up off the ground.
“I can’t wait to sleep in a soft bed,” Saphire mumbled.
Easel and Rika laughed as Saphire opened a portal. They all walked through silently. As soon as they stepped through, their laughter was cut off. Every direction they looked, all they saw was destruction. The forest had been burned down, and all the buildings in sight had been brought to the ground. Easel took Saphire’s hand as they walked down the street, peering around at all the destruction. The closer they got to the center of the pack, the more anxious they got.
“Where is everybody?” Rika asked quietly.
“I don’t know.”
As soon as they got to the packhouse, all their questions were answered when they saw the huge pile of bodies in front of the large packhouse. Men, women, children, elderly, infants, and pregnant women. The pile contained them all. Rika walked on her shaking legs to the pile, where she let out a whimper as she reached out to stroke a little boy’s face. She looked over her shoulder at Saphire and Easel.
“Why would they do this?” She whispered. “What did these people do that was so wrong that they deserved to die and be left like trash?”
They walked up to her to put their hands on her shoulders. “I’m sorry, Rika. Sometimes, the world is cruel. Maybe when Margo comes with Merlot, she can bring them back.”
Rika sank to her knees with her head down as she grieved for the innocents in front of her. Saphire tilted her head toward the packhouse, and Easel nodded, mouthing, ‘I’ll stay with her.’
Saphire touched Easel’s hand before hurrying into the house, while Easel kneeled behind Rika to try to comfort her by rocking her back and forth, murmuring softly to her. When Saphire came back out, she sat next to them.
“There’s nobody inside. Everybody inside the packhouse left in a hurry. It’s a complete disaster in there.”
Rika wiped her nose on the back of her hand. “Did you find anything that can help us? I want to make the bastards pay for what they did to their own people.”
Saphire held out a piece of paper that had been partially burned. Only five letters were still visible on it. ACK MO. Rika bared her teeth as she snatched the paper out of Saphire’s hands.
“Black Moon! King Lukas has had issues with that pack for years. Can we go there now?” Rika asked angrily.
“Yes. Let’s go!”
Saphire opened a portal. Rika squared her shoulders as she stormed toward it. Her body slammed into a barrier, and she bounced off, hitting the ground. She blinked in shock.
“What the hell are you doing, Shadow?” She hissed.
“That wasn’t me,” Shadow instantly denied as she tried to walk through the portal herself.
She hit the same barrier, cursing in frustration when she was forced backward. She closed the portal before opening another with the same result. Easel tried to walk through it and broke out in a sweat before sinking to her knees, panting with the energy she had exerted.
“What the fuck is going on? Are we trapped here?” Easel asked Saphire.
“I don’t know.”
Energy surged to their left, making Saphire groan.
“Well, fuck!”
A portal opened seconds before Keith and Jay stormed through it, with Merlot and Joyce behind them. Jay grabbed Rika off the ground, pinning her arms to her side before biting into her neck. She cried out before slumping against him. Keith stopped in front of Saphire and Easel, growling loudly. Easel whimpered as she tried to hide behind Saphire, who put her hand up in an attempt to ward him off.
“Wait! She-”
He knocked her hand away as his hand went to her chest over her heart as he pulled Easel out from behind her. He sent energy surging through Saphire while clawing down Easel’s face and chest before releasing a stream of fire over her, leaving her body quaking. He glared at Saphire.
“Mates,” he growled at her, “don’t leave mates! PERIOD!”
She rolled her eyes. “Well, hello to you, too, Keith. Next time, try: Hi, I’m Keith. We’re mates. Can I mark you?” She turned to look at Easel. “Easel, this is Keith. Keith, this is Easel.”
He bared his teeth at her. “You lost that chance by staying behind when you sent Gary to me. Oh, let’s not fucking forget, you two also refused to come home when you sent Kennedy to me. So fuck what I should have done. Let’s talk about what you should have done!” Saphire flushed as she looked away from him. “I didn’t think so!”
“Keith? Please, don’t be angry at them. They were only trying to help,” Gary said softly as she came through the portal, holding Kennedy’s hand.
When Easel tried to rush around him, Keith grabbed her around the waist to pull her close. “Hi, Easel, I’m Keith. We’re mates.”
Saphire rolled her eyes as she went over to Gary and Kennedy. “Sure, be gentle with her. Dick.”
Easel couldn’t help but giggle. “She doesn’t seem to like you very much.”
He shrugged. “Feeling is mutual at the moment.”
A gasp from the portal drew all of their attention. Margo stood, staring at the pile of bodies. Rika hugged her.
“Margo, I’m so glad to see you. How’s your sister?”
“F-fine. What happened? Did you guys kill them?”
“No. They were already deceased when we came.”
Jay tugged Rika away from Margo. “Come on, baby. Let her work.”
He swung her up into his arms. “We need to figure out what to do since I doubt that the twins are here. It looks like the Alpha left.”
“Whoever is involved in this did.”
Keith picked Easel up. “Let’s go rest. When Margo is rooted back at Locust, we’ll have a meeting. Until then, we need to talk.”
Gary giggled. “He really means mate. Keith doesn’t talk,” she whispered to Easel, making Keith groan.
“Gary…”
She looked up at him innocently. “What? It’s true. You know it is.”
He groaned. “I won’t apologize for wanting my mates.” He glared at Saphire. “Any of them.”
Saphire rolled her eyes. “I used to think that I would be okay being in this little harem you have going on, but I’m quickly changing my mind.”
He wrapped his hand around her wrist as he walked by. “Too late. You’re here now. We’re not letting you go.”
Easel smirked as Saphire followed Keith back through the portal, not fighting at all. They had talked about coming so many times that Easel knew Saphire was just as ready to be with their mates as she was. She leaned against Keith’s chest.
“Did you take care of Gary and Kennedy while we were gone?”
He nodded. “Yes. Now, it’s your turn.”
The way he said it sent shivers down Easel’s back. Fuck, they should have come back sooner.
