Chapter 20
What!
Jayden POV
I didn't know how many hours I've slept, but the sound of my blaring alarm, jolted out of my deep slumber, and forcing my eyes opened, I groaned angrily. It's already time to get ready for work, and I still want to get some sleep. Letting out another groan, I sat up on the bed, and ran my fingers through my hair, before swinging my legs down the bed, after which I stood on my feet, and yawned tiredly, while stretching my arms above my head.
Dragging my feet towards the bathroom, I twisted the doorknob, and walked in, before shutting the door behind me, after which I stripped out of my clothes, and got under the shower, as I turned it on, and let the water fall on my head, down to my toes, touching every parts of my body.
After spending almost forever in the bathroom, I finally turned off the shower, and wrapped a towel around my waist, before heading out of bathroom. Stepping into my room, I ran my fingers through my hair, as I walked over to the dresser, and sat down, before getting started with getting ready for office. After applying my skin care oil and lotion on my body, I dried and combed my hair, before walking over to the cabinet, where I picked out my neatly ironed office suits, before wearing them.
In less than an hour, I was standing before the mirror, all ready for office, and without wasting time, I headed to the door, and walked out, before heading to dad's room. Once I stopped in front of his room, I placed a soft knock on his door, and waited patiently for him to usher me in. His voice came on from inside, and I twisted the doorknob, before stepping in.
"Good morning dad." I greeted politely.
"Good morning son. Are you ready for work already?" He asked, as he stood up from the bed.
"Yes dad, I have alot of documents, waiting for me on my desk, and I also have some appointments, so I have to go early." I replied.
"Alright son. Uhm... I noticed something lately." He said.
"What's it dad?" I asked confusingly.
"It's about Mae, you don't seem to be getting along with her, what's happening?" Dad asked. I couldn't help scoffing, I mean, is he being serious right now? I have been quiet about this whole thing these past few days, because I didn't want any drama, I already have alot going on in my mind, and adding another one to it, is the last thing on my mind. I've decided to mind my business, but why does dad have to ask this? What's he possibly expecting? That we play around like lovers or what? I don't understand this.
"Dad to start with, I have no business with Mae, she's your friend's daughter, and that's it, I have no business with her. I just feel like to mind my business, but you're making things hard than it already is. I'm going through alot now, and having this disturb my mind, is what I won't like. I don't know why she's here, when her dad owns a house, not that I care to know though, but whichever reason that brought her here, I want her to stay far away from me, I don't like her, she shouldn't make life difficult for me in this house, else, she'll have me to contend with." I snapped angrily, before storming out of the room, but stopped in my track, as I was welcomed with Mae, standing in the hallway.
I don't know why I'm so angry, the more I try controlling myself, the more it keeps coming, just what the heck is happening? What's with the sudden hatred for her?
Glaring hard at her, I adjusted my suit, and walked pass her. Descending down the stairs, I headed straight to the living room, but stopped, as madam Rebecca's voice came on.
"Jayden aren't you going to have breakfast?" She asked.
"No, I'll eat when I get to the office." I said, and with that, I headed to the exit door, and stormed out of the house. I sauntered to the parking lot, and hopped in one of my cars, before igniting the engine, after which I drove out of the compound, and in the next seconds, I was already on my way, driving to the company.
After driving for what seemed like forever, I finally got to the big gate of the company, and I drove in, after it roll opened. Driving into the compound, I parked neatly at the parking lot, and turned off the ignition, before alighting from the car, after which I headed to the entrance door.
Stepping inside the company, I walked through the lobby, and straight to the elevator, ignoring the staffs that kept greeting me. If they aren't blind, they should know that I'm in no mood for their greetings now, they should keep it for who needs it.
Stepping into the elevator, the door closed, and waited patiently for it to take me to the third floor. Seconds later, the door flung open, and I stepped out, before heading to my office.
Stepping into my office, I met Eve, sitting behind her desk, while working on her desktop. Wow, first time in history, she came early to work today. I should've teased her, but I'm still mad at her.
"Good morning." She greeted, as she stood up, but I ignored her, and walked inside my office. Walking over to my seat, I let my weight down the chair, and sighed. When will all these shits be over? Things is already complicated and frustrating for me, and Mae is not helping matters alot, she's adding to my problems, and I hate that.
I turned on the desktop, and waited patiently for it to power on, before I start work, and after what seemed like forever, it finally started working.
Scrolling through the apps, I clicked on the gmail, while waiting for it to load. I know there would be tons of messages, waiting for me there, it's not a new thing to me, it happens everyday.
Tons of unread messages popped on the mails, and I groaned frustratingly, as I scrolled up and down the mails. Heaven knows that I'll spend a whole week, replying messages, if I want to reply all of it.
The sound of my buzzing phone distracted me, and letting out an angry groan, I reached out to it, and rolled my eyes at the caller. It's my best friend, Leon.
"What's it now dude? Don't you know I'll be busy this morning?" I groaned angrily, after I picked the call.
"What the heck am I seeing on the internet man?" He exclaimed, ignoring everything I said.
"What's it man?" I asked confusingly, gazing into space.
"Man check the internet." He said, and without waiting for me to talk, he ended the call. I scoffed unbelievably, as I glanced at the screen of my phone, while processing what he just said. I turned on my data connection, as tons of messages came popping on my phone, and I froze at the sight I behold. What!
