Chapter 14 Take back your love father!
Chapter 14 Take back your love father!
Chapter 14
Eileen pov
In a condescending tone, she countered me. “You have no choice girl.”
“Emily!” my father called out. “Stop raising your voice on her.” my father warned and that amused me cause I’ve never seen my father fight for me.
He's always quiet whenever his wife starts nagging at me.
But, tonight? Things seemed to be happening for good.
I bolted away from them, heading for my room.
I’m saddened. I collapsed on my bed, burying my face in my pillow, tears pouring out freely.
First, it was my mum who died and now my stepdad is gone too?
God, this pain is way too much for my heart to bear.
My eyes were hurt from the tears and suddenly they became heavy.
I closed my eyes and let the blackness take me under.

The next morning, I felt a gentle tap on my back, and that stirred me up from my sleep.
With a groggy eye, and voice, I looked at the person and grumbled.
It was my dad. He was sitting on my bed with a tray beside him.
On the tray were included a mug, a kettle, and a spoon.
The sleep in my eyes suddenly got wiped away, and I pushed myself up suddenly aware of my surroundings.
I looked at him with panic gripping my heart. What has my dad come to do in my room with a tray?
“Your lingerie is so beautiful.” he mouthed, breaking through the silence that exists between us.
My heart dropped to the pit of my tummy.
Did my dad just mention the lingerie he saw on my bed?
Was he going to ask my questions about how I got it?
“Your mother used to be a lover of red. Things like that,” he pointed with a disdainful tone. “She wears to seduce men into her bed.”
He paused for a while then smirked. “I hope you don't end up like her someday.”
The fears that were gripping my heart have reduced and now turned to rage at the condescending speech he just made about my mother.
I swallowed every urge to blast him and asked,” What are you doing in my room? This is so unusual of you.” I stared at him.
He heaved a sigh and shoved his hands into his pocket, approaching me.
“Don't be rude, daughter,” he said as his ass sank into the mattress and his hands reached for the mug and kettle.
Father served the tea and stirred gently. “Can't a father visit his daughter and serve her tea?”
I choked on my spit at his words and I coughed.
Tea? Father visits his daughter?
His words sound funny and so stale to swallow.
“Aren’t you going to say something?” he nudged at my toes, gently.
Holy shit! This feels surreal but I'm pretty sure I was hallucinating.
No way would my dad ever come here to serve me tea in bed.
“Oh,” I drawled clutching my hands to my chest. “I’m scared that you are here Dad. Why would you serve me tea?” I asked, still unable to believe this reality.
They were so fucking real to be true.
“This isn't your dad!” I said with tears, but instead of him uttering any words, he pushed the mug in my hands and shushed.
“Be careful. It's hot darling.”
I stared hard at the mug in my grasp with panicking.
A tear escaped from my eyes and fell in.
“What should I do with this?” I asked, eyeing him.
“Drink up. This is a cinnamon tea. It's a combination of cinnamon and lemon, it helps refresh the body and get rid of fat and toxins.”
I dragged in a shaky breath, my hands trembling as I tried to bring the cup closer to my mouth.
Different negative thoughts flooded my mind. What if this tea contains poison?
I shut tight my eyes in a bid to be able to drink up but I took off my mouth.
Tears fell more from my eyes and streamed down my cheeks. No matter how hard I tried to drink. I can't.
I don't trust my father's niceness.
He and his wife were so mean to me, and just from last night, they began acting weirdly.
My father grabbed a spoon and put it in the cup to fetch some tea then sipped.
He sipped three times before trying to feed me.
My mouth was suddenly dry and hurting. I find it hard to open them.
“Are you going to kill me, Dad?” I asked and his hands froze midway, an inexplicable emotion spreading across his face.
He gave a light chuckle, smiling. “No. But, why will you say so?” his voice was so calm which was very unlikely for him.
I swallowed hard, seizing the momentum to weigh my options. “Because I broke the TV.” I lied.
I wasn't the one who had broken the TV, but if Anna should mention my name. They won't even doubt her words.
All the blame will be on me.
My father was quiet and the silence from him made me to be so uneasy.
“Okay,”
My eyes widened in surprise.
Just like that?
Okay?
Isn't my father going to scold me?
“Be fast to drink your tea and come downstairs for breakfast. Remember, you'll be going to Washington at noon,” he said, and walked towards the door.
As his hands wrapped around the door, I spoke. “Were you aware that he was sick and he requested my presence while he was in his sickbed?”
My father stole a glance back at me, and his brows knitted into a deep line.
“Can you just please stop with your endless questions?” he frowned, yanked the door open, and got out.
I heaved a sigh of relief the moment he stepped out and my heart drifted to the lingerie and art book.
Was it possible that my dad had gone through the art book to see the nasty words?
Damn it!
My cheeks reddened in frustration at this discovery.
I hurried to the bathroom to get rid of the tea and wash my mouth and face before stepping into my room to apply my moisturizer.
I headed downstairs.
They were all seated.
Emily was the first to speak the moment she saw me with a smile on her face.
“Sweetheart, we've been waiting for you. Food is ready.”
What? My brows raised in curiosity.
Okay. I know I once craved for their attention and love but these… are becoming scarier.
Their love and expressions felt like today might be my last day on earth.
I don't want to eat their food. I feel like staying hungry for today.
