Chapter 164: None of Your Business

The ballroom glittered with clinking glasses and elegant silhouettes.

Amber stood in a corner, her gaze locked on the couple across the room.

Travis stood tall, his features striking.

Chloe clung to his arm, nestled close.

Together, they looked perfect.

Amber's nails dug into her palms, drawing blood.

Why?

Why did Travis get to marry someone like that—a top-tier socialite?

And her?

She was forced to hide in dark corners like a rat that couldn't bear the light.

Jealousy gnawed at her heart like a venomous snake.

She'd given him everything.

And in the end, she'd gotten nothing.

Instead, she'd been left ruined, despised by everyone.

All of it—thanks to Skylar and Travis!

Rage built in Amber's chest until she could barely breathe.

She suddenly wrenched free from Wilma's grip and lunged toward Travis.

Travis was hers! Only hers!

He didn't deserve happiness!

"Stop right there!"

Wilma reacted instantly, grabbing her arm and yanking her back.

"Mom, let go!" Amber's eyes were bloodshot. "I need to see him!"

"Are you insane?" Wilma hissed, her face dark. "Do you know where you are? You want everyone to laugh at us?"

"I don't care!" Amber's voice cracked with tears and resentment. "Why does Travis get to marry Chloe? Who does he think he is?"

"He should be rotting in the gutter with me!"

Wilma frowned, gripping her arm tightly. "Calm down! Now is not the time to be reckless!"

"I can't calm down!" Amber's voice trembled. "Mom, look at them!"

"I can't accept this! I won't!"

She'd sacrificed so much for Travis.

Why?

Why did she end up like this while they all lived so well?

No!

She couldn't let this go!

She'd make them pay!

She'd make Travis and Skylar suffer!

"I'll make them pay!" Amber's voice was venomous. "I'll make them all suffer!"

"Keep your voice down!" Wilma quickly covered her mouth, glancing around warily.

Seeing no one had noticed, she released her.

She lowered her voice. "I know you're hurting. I'm hurting too."

"But this is exactly when we need to stay calm."

"We take our time. Understand?"

"When the right moment comes, we'll strike. We'll ruin them completely. Make them wish they were dead."

"Take our time?" Amber laughed bitterly, shoving her hand away. "I can't wait!"

"Not another day!"

"I want to see them suffer now! Right now!"

"Why won't you listen?" Wilma snapped. "Do you think charging over there will help?"

"You think Travis will even acknowledge you? You'll only humiliate yourself!"

"And Skylar—she has Reuben backing her now. We're no match for her."

"Going head-to-head is suicide. Do you understand?"

"I don't understand! I don't want to!" Amber's eyes were red. "All I know is that everything I've lost is because of Travis and Skylar!"

"If it weren't for them, I'd still be living like a princess!"

"They destroyed me! They pushed me to this!"

"I will have revenge! I will!"

Wilma looked at her daughter's hysterical state, torn between anger and heartache.

Her daughter had no patience.

This would ruin everything.

"Amber, listen to me." Wilma tried to soften her tone. "I know you've been wronged."

"But revenge takes time. We need to plan carefully."

"We just got back. We're not stable yet. Acting rashly will only alert them."

"Once we've established ourselves, we'll deal with them slowly. There's no rush."

"I've waited long enough! How much longer do you expect me to wait?"

"Until they have kids?"

The thought of Travis and Chloe having children, living happily together—it felt like a hand was crushing Amber's heart. She couldn't breathe.

No!

She wouldn't allow it!

"I don't care. I can't take it anymore." Amber turned away. "You can wait if you want. I can't."

"You—!" Wilma was speechless with frustration.

While mother and daughter argued, Travis seemed to sense something. He glanced their way.

His gaze landed on Amber. His brow furrowed slightly.

Why was Amber here?

Travis frowned.

Chloe noticed his reaction and followed his gaze, confused. "Travis, what's wrong?"

"Nothing." Travis looked away, shaking his head. "Thought I saw someone."

"Really?" Chloe looked suspicious, glancing back toward Wilma.

When she did, her expression darkened instantly.

She recognized Wilma.

Just a pathetic troublemaker.

And the woman beside her...

Chloe narrowed her eyes, studying her carefully.

Amber?

Chloe suddenly remembered. She'd had Travis's past investigated.

The file had mentioned Travis's entanglement with Amber.

He'd even hurt his own wife for her sake.

Chloe's expression grew colder.

So he'd been staring at Amber!

Perfect.

Today was their wedding.

And he was staring at another woman at their wedding?

His old flame, no less?

Fury surged through Chloe. She could barely maintain her smile.

"Travis." She lowered her voice, her tone sharp. "Who is that woman?"

Travis frowned. "What woman?"

"Don't play dumb!" Chloe's voice turned icy. "The one standing next to Wilma!"

"You were staring at her. Don't tell me you don't know her."

Travis's expression darkened. "I told you, it's nothing."

"Nothing?" Chloe pressed. "Travis, this is our wedding. You'd better explain yourself!"

"Who is she? What's your relationship with her?"

Nearby guests seemed to sense the tension, casting curious glances their way.

Travis's face grew even darker.

"Chloe," his voice turned cold, "I said it's none of your business."

"None of my business?" Chloe looked at him like he'd said something absurd. "Travis, let me remind you—I'm your wife now!"
