Chapter 111: Missing
Leo's POV
"And you are certain you didn't hallucinate the whole thing," Liam's voice boomed into my ears. "Cause it's quite surreal."
I was telling him about how I had finally seen Allison, and how she was one of my employees, well, former employees, given that she had resigned.
But then again, she was yet to tender a formal resignation and a verbal statement didn't give her enough leverage to just leave like that.
However, three days had already passed since she resigned and last came to work, so I guess she didn't care about resigning formally.
"Come on, man. Don't you trust me?" I huffed. "I saw her in flesh and blood. She even reisgned on the spot."
"That I can believe. Given how much of a scumbag you were to her," Liam retorted. "So did you look into her yet? I mean, you have a legion of informants working for you."
"Not yet, but I'm going to very soon," I said. "Enough about me. How's Linda?"
"Linda is fine. She is currently at work," Liam replied. "Mum and Dad even called us last night to inform us that they may drop by to visit us tomorrow. Apparently, a close associate of mum's is having a retirement party here in Spain and they're both attending."
"That's cool."
"Yeah."
"Alright then. Take care and extend my regards to your wife."
"Okay, man. Always remember that I'm rooting for you no matter how much of a stubborn jerk you are." Liam said, a teasing lilt to his voice.
"Fuck off, man."
"You too." He laughed, and I scoffed before ending the call.
Just then, a knock came on the door, and I instantly knew that it was my secretary, Dylan.
"Come in." I bellowed, and the door creaked open to reveal him.
"The auditing department is ready for the annual quarterly report, sir." Dylan said, to which I nodded, standing and donning my coat.
"Alright, I'll be with them shortly."
Walking into the conference room, I was met with a pleasant surprise; Allison was there.
She didn't do as much as sparing me a glance and just acted like I didn't exist, even when the members of her team greeted me.
Honestly, I didn't care about that. To me, all that mattered was her presence.
I did the best I could to conceal my happiness as I took my seat at the head of the table.
Dylan placed the folder of documents in front of me, just as Allison started speaking.
"We have concluded the annual quarterly audit and that is the result," She motioned to the folder. "We are currently working on auditing the sales memo as we just got it from the sales department."
Oh, how badly had I missed that sweet, velvety voice of hers.
I could vividly recall how that sultry that voice could get whenever she whimpered or moaned.
Damn you, Leo, your perverted mind is diverting from the matter at hand again. A voice from within chided me.
"That's good," I said. "Tell you what, I will review the results before the day ends and give you my feedback through your team leader."
"Alright, sir." The team members responded.
"Very well then. You may leave," I said. "Wait behind, Miss Allison. I want to speak to you in private."
Allison darted me a glare which went unnoticed by her members but nodded regardless, her hands bunching into fists on the table.
Stifling the urge to smile at her antics which I found cute, I fixated my gaze to the door, and waited until everyone, including Dylan left.
"You told me to wait behind to mock me in private, isn't it?" Allison began. "Let me just tell you that I intend to resign very soon. I came back because I have something urgent to take care of."
"No, it's not because of that. I would never mock you. Hell, I'm beyond glad and relieved that you returned." I confessed, to which she scoffed.
"You would never mock me? Yeah, right," She snapped. "Anyway, I have nothing else to say, so I'm leaving."
Before I could respond, she walked out of the conference room, and slammed the door behind herself.
Even though she was still clearly mad at me, I was really happy that she had at least returned to work.
I would take everything one step at a time and do my possible best to win her heart back.
I had gotten her to fall for me the first time, and I could and would do it again, even if it was harder this time around.
However, a part of me couldn't help but wonder what urgent thing she had to take care of.

Allison's POV
"I'm done, babe. Let's go," Tasha uttered, capping her mascara and returning it to her makeup kit.
"Alright," I nodded.
Tasha, David, Aiden, and I were currently out on a lunch date at a restaurant, to celebrate Aiden's discharge from the hospital.
He was discharged some days ago and I had taken up some part-time remote jobs in order to pay for his medical bills.
As we returned to the main restaurant area, something eerie registered in my mind when I saw David frantically pacing the entrance, with no sign of my son.
I literally bolted away from Tasha, and up to him. "Where's Aiden?" I asked.
His eyes oozed with sympathy and remorse and ge gazed at me. "Allie, I want you to know that I never meant for this to happen. I o-"
An overpowering wave of trepidation seized me. "What happened?"
"I went out for just three minutes to take a call and when I came back, I couldn't find him," He started. "But I've informed security and the waitresses. They told me they are currently looking into it."
"Oh, god." I clasped my hand over my mouth in shock.
