Chapter 106: Liam’s wedding

FIVE YEARS LATER

Leo's POV

"Congratulations on your wedding, bro," I said to Liam, as I pulled him into a hug. "Both you and Linda are perfect for each other."

"Thanks, man," He responded, slapping my back affectionately. "Don't worry, you will also find your love very soon. Sooner than you expect."

I huffed but nodded anyway, because deep down inside by heart, I knew such thing would never happen because I had pushed the only woman that I'd ever loved away.

The woman who had diligently loved me that I had disregarded as nothing but a prostitute.

I couldn't believe I was saying this but I truly missed Allison and wished I could turn back time to undo all my mistakes.

"Let me leave you to get ready. I will see you at the wedding." I said. "By the way, you look good, bro."

"Thanks, bro." Liam darted me a smile, which I returned before exiting the room.

We were currently in Barcelona for his and his fiancée's wedding. They had both met in Spain and had dated for about three years before deciding to tie the knot.

They were both perfect for each other. I had seen the way they both looked at each other, with immense, adoring love.

It hurt me so much that I had ruined my chances of ever having something like that in the future by being an asshole.

Fiona and I had broken up three months after our engagement because I just couldn't bring myself to like her, no matter how hard I tried.

Her personality also didn't help matters at all. For instance, she wanted me to employ a team of maids because she didn't want to do anything at all, even though I had agreed to her request to be a housewife.

Hell, I had even agreed to pay her tens of thousands a month for being a stay at home wife, excluding her monthly clothing allowance.

When I complained about it to Liam, he had only told me that I had finally met my match after tossing Allison aside like trash.

Liam knew about Allison. He was my twin brother, and I couldn't hide anything from him.

He had been against the whole arrangement from the start and had warned me against breaking the poor girl's heart, but I didn't listen.

Although Allison never confessed her feelings for me, I knew she had loved, or at least, abhorred some feelings for me.

It had been really obvious; the way she'd blush whenever we made eye contacts and how I'd catch her staring at me when she thought I wasn't looking.

To top it off, she had seemed so hurt and devasted by my marriage announcement. Instead of breaking off our situation amicably, I had done so ruthlessly and rudely.

"My baby," Mum's voice came from behind me, as I stared at the view below from the balcony, causing me to turn to face her.

Smiling, I walked up to her. "Hi, mum. How are you doing today?"

"Very good," She beamed. "My baby is getting married to the loveliest girl in the world. I'm beyond elated."

"That's good," I returned her smile. "You look lovely, ma. The burgundy really suits your skin tone."

Mum was clad in a long, silk burgundy dress, with a matching red scarf, smoothly laid on her shoulder. Her long hair was wrapped in a bun, to accentuate her pretty features.

"Right? And to think Ophelia was saying something about how this looks too old and boring. That girl always thinks she knows everything because she's studying fashion."

"Don't listen to her, ma. You look lovely."

"I won't. Thanks, love."

"There you are," Ophelia's voice wafted into the balcony before she and dad came into view, their arms intertwined. "We've been looking everywhere for you, ma. The caterer wants to see you."

"Is that so?" Mum asked, as dad came to her side and pressed a kiss to her forehead.

"My gorgeous queen. You are so beautiful." He said, causing Lia to roll her eyes, her lips twitching into a smile.

Like mum, she was dressed in a burgundy dress but hers was made with lace and stopped at her knees.

"Thanks, babe. You look dashing," Mum replied. "Let me go and see to what the caterer needs."

"I'm coming with you." Dad said, hooking a arm around her waist, and mum just smiled at him before they both left.

"They are so cheesy," Lia muttered, shaking her

head. "Why do you look like this?" She looked me up and down.

"Like what?"

"Kinda sad."

"Well, I'm not sad," I fibbed. "When did you become a psychologist by the way?"

"Whatever." She rolled her eyes before leaving the balcony, and I followed her moments later.

"The event planner did a wonderful job with this place," Mum said, as she observed the mammoth reception hall decor. "I love it."

We were currently at Liam and Alicia's wedding reception and everyone, excluding me was having a great time.

"Yes, it's really unique and enthralling." I agreed with her.

No matter what I tried to do, I just couldn't shake off the heavy gloom in my heart, but I was more than determined to look happy, because I didn't want my family worrying about me.

After the wedding, I would start thinking of ways to find Allison.

Giving up wasn't an option because I wanted to experience love with her. Hell, I'd even kiss the floor she walked on, if it meant she'd forgive me and come back to me.
