Chapter 294 Rushing to the Person She Like
Olivia didn't look back at the chaos in the banquet hall behind her.
She knew that after today, the Johnson family would be completely turned upside down, with scandals hanging over their heads for a long time to come.
But none of that had anything to do with her anymore.
Outside the hotel, Olivia finally felt the world was quiet again.
Holding Bianca, she said to Evelyn and Daniel, "Today, I'm really grateful to you both for today."
If they hadn't stepped in, Sophia's comeuppance wouldn't have come so quickly.
Even though she didn't care, she would still have been slandered by them.
"It's nothing, just a small favor. I couldn't stand seeing her act so arrogant anyway," Daniel said, looking her over. Seeing she wasn't affected at all, he didn't say anything more.
Evelyn smiled and said, "No need to be polite with me. How could I let you and Bianca be wronged?
I've been annoyed with that Sophia for ages, just waiting for this day to tear off her mask."
She patted Daniel on the shoulder and praised him, "Mr. Wilson, you reacted pretty fast. What made you think of recording a video?"
She'd been so angry at the time that she hadn't thought of it.
Daniel smiled. "Just a gut feeling. They came with bad intentions, so they'd definitely stir up trouble. When I saw Sophia coming over, I immediately started recording."
Evelyn was pleased to hear this. "Good. Today was really satisfying. Finally got some justice for Olivia!"
Olivia smiled too, but asked curiously, "When did you get those photos?"
"A while ago," Evelyn didn't hide it from her. "My brother is abroad, so it was easier to investigate. Originally, there were no results.
Maybe God couldn't stand to see her do more evil.
This morning when they took Bianca away and we chased them to the hotel, my brother just sent me the investigation results.
They were still blocking us from going up, so in my anger, while you guys went upstairs to get Bianca, I went and bribed the staff member in charge of playing their love documentary today. That's how this happened.
Showing those photos was me being nice to her."
After hearing this, Olivia finally understood what happened, feeling touched.
She knew her friend did all this to stand up for her.
She'd been wronged for so long, and today finally cleared her name.
Olivia couldn't help but hug Evelyn, sincerely grateful. "Evelyn, thank you so much!"
Evelyn laughed. "Come on, no need to be polite with me. It's getting late, and Bianca still needs to give gifts to her classmates. Let's hurry to school, the farewell party has already been delayed."
"Okay!" Olivia nodded.
On the way, she didn't forget to message Andrew, telling him they'd gotten out.
Andrew seemed to have been waiting for her message and quickly replied: [How's Bianca doing? Is she okay?]
Olivia touched Bianca's head while replying: [A bit quiet, but mentally she's fine. When she heard we're going to school now, she started looking forward to the farewell party again.]
Andrew replied: [That's good. Let her say goodbye to her friends properly. She'll probably forget about what happened during the day soon enough.]
Olivia: [Okay.]
That afternoon, they arrived at the school.
The kids in Bianca's class were all waiting for her. With a bunch of children together, there was lots of chatter.
With the teacher's help , the farewell party was lively.
But goodbyes are sad too.
When the party ended in the evening, and everyone went home, Bianca cried in Olivia's arms.
Her eyes were red, and she sobbed with a pitiful expression.
Olivia's heart ached. She held Bianca and comforted her for a long time, but couldn't stop her tears.
Just as the car arrived home, Andrew sent her a message asking: [How was the farewell party? Are you home?]
Seeing his message, Olivia felt like she'd found a lifeline.
She didn't reply but immediately made a video call.
Andrew answered quickly.
He expected to see Olivia, but when the screen connected, he saw Bianca crying instead.
Andrew's heart tightened, and he quickly asked, "What's wrong? Bianca, why are you crying?"
Seeing him, Bianca pouted, crying sadly, "Daddy, I miss my little friends. I won't see them anymore."
Hearing this, Andrew's heart softened.
He gently comforted her, "Bianca, don't cry. Look at it this way—even though you're separated from your friends, you'll get to see me often now. Isn't that also something to be happy about? Do you miss me?"
He skillfully shifted the focus.
Bianca's thoughts followed his lead, and she honestly nodded, saying, "Yes, I miss you a lot, Daddy!"
"Good, then don't cry. When you and Mommy come to Harmony City, we'll see each other. I'll take you guys out to play, to the amusement park, okay? There's lots of fun stuff."
Children's minds are simple. With his coaxing, she forgot about being sad and excitedly chatted with him about what she wanted to play.
Watching this, Olivia felt both relieved and a bit helpless.
She had this feeling that Andrew was better at comforting her daughter than she was.
She'd raised her daughter for over four years—how did she become closer to someone else!
Andrew naturally saw her expression and chuckled, asking, "Jealous?"
Olivia laughed and quickly shook her head. "No, your medical skills are good, you know how to win people over, and you're good with kids. I can't compare."
Andrew smiled. "You flatter me."
Olivia looked at the man's features—handsome to an almost wicked degree. A simple suit, nothing special, yet he wore it with a restrained elegance.
She was momentarily dazed.
Andrew raised an eyebrow and asked, "All packed? What time's your flight tomorrow?"
Olivia snapped back to attention and quickly replied, "Tomorrow during the day there's a new drug development to inspect. I'm not sure what time I'll finish, so I booked an evening flight.
We'll arrive in Harmony City around seven at night."
"Okay." Andrew didn't rush her. He gently reminded her, "Get some rest early then."
"Okay."
After chatting a bit more, they said goodnight and ended the video call.
Olivia's heart hadn't quite calmed down yet.
It was beating a bit fast.
Thinking about seeing him tomorrow night, a feeling of excitement involuntarily stirred in her heart.
That night, she slept well.
The next day, Olivia went to the lab to inspect the new drug, then joined Evelyn and Yara to take Bianca to Harmony City.
None of them had much luggage; some had already been shipped ahead.
While waiting for the plane, with nothing to do, Evelyn told Olivia about what happened after the Johnson family's engagement party yesterday.
"I heard Michael had a fit of rage last night and fainted, was sent to the hospital.
His leg also flared up from an old injury, and now he can't even get out of bed to walk.
As for that awful woman Sophia and her son, they were kicked out of the Johnson family overnight.
Last night's incident was so big it almost made the news. It was Michael's father who acted decisively, using connections to suppress the news and threatening the guests not to spread word about yesterday.
He even said whoever dares talk will be sued by the Johnson Group.
Those guests, out of respect for the Johnson Group, didn't post what they filmed yesterday.
But no matter how much the Johnson family tries to control it, they can't make everyone shut up. Yesterday's events have spread throughout high society circles.
The Johnson family has completely become a joke now!"
Olivia heard all this as unimportant gossip.
After boarding the plane, she completely put the matter out of her mind.
When the plane took off, Olivia looked at Emerald City receding below, feeling somewhat emotional.
She once thought she'd put down roots there for life.
She never expected that today she'd be heading to a new place.
But she liked this journey and looked forward to the challenges ahead.
That evening at seven, the plane landed in Harmony City.
Since Olivia and the others were in first class and used the VIP passage, they saw the person waiting at the exit as soon as they came out.
It was Andrew.
He must have come straight from the office, still wearing a white shirt and crisp suit pants that made his legs look long.
His cold gaze suddenly softened when he saw them.
Behind Andrew were David and several bodyguards.
The two of them hadn't seen each other for quite a few days.
Now, seeing him standing there waiting for her, Olivia found her heart racing.
Bianca didn't think so much. Seeing the person she'd been thinking about, she looked very happy and ran over on her little legs.
"Daddy!" she called out happily to Andrew.
Andrew also smiled, bent down to pick her up, bounced her a bit, then said, "Bianca, you've grown taller and heavier."
Bianca's eyes curved with her smile as she told him in a sweet childlike voice, "I ate well and grew up good!"
Andrew smiled and patted her head. "Good job, such a good girl!"
Bianca smiled and nuzzled against Andrew like a cuddly kitten.
Olivia watched them interact with a smile, turning on her phone to let Rodolfo know they'd arrived safely.
Rodolfo had wanted to send someone to pick them up, knowing they'd arrive tonight.
But Olivia didn't want to trouble him, so she declined his kind offer.
After she finished sending the message, Evelyn nudged Olivia with her elbow and teased, "You should go hug him too. You've been thinking about him for so long, and now you finally get to see him."
Hearing this, Yara also laughed.
Olivia's ears turned red as she glared at her friend. "What nonsense. Who's been thinking about him?"
